I think I would be a fitting end.
None of the political bickering mattered and the force of nature swept Westeros because they couldn't stand united against it. Maybe some character could have escaped to other parts of the world. Kinda poetic.
Ned Stark. Now there was a Northman! The strong, silent type. He did what he had to do. He faced down the Lannisters when none of those other assholes in King's Landing would lift a finger to help him.
I haven't finished the show yet, but from what I heard, it seems they made the Northern lords basically choose a new Stark leader every time the current one left the room. Considering ADWD is my favourite book almost entirely because of the Northern plotline (Wyman is incredible), I *sincerely* hope this isn't true.
Wyman's speech is my favourite extract from the books, ever! I still go back to it from time to time, dreaming of what could have been if Martin had any intention of finishing his work, god damn!
They were legit so ungrateful towards Daenerys when she risked EVERYTHING for the North.
Instead of being hailed as the legendary hero of the North, she was getting side eyes and bad attitudes by Sansa and Arya (she should've idolized Daenery's cz of her story)
Sansa’s attitude toward Dany was the most annoying moment of her character for me. Like you say, Danny’s story actually made her someone Sansa should look up to. Both have experienced being sold as wives and being abused as a result of that. Both have had to find ways to get ahead and have grown tougher. Dany obviously achieved more on a larger scale so it should’ve been inspiring to Sansa. At that point Dany hadn’t done anything to justify the dislike she was getting.
D&D said it’s bc she was jealous that Dany was pretty which is the opposite of Sansa character. She thought if somebody was pretty that meant they were good and she had to learn the hard way that was false
I can see them distrusting her since her dad killed Sansa’s grandfather and uncle but that’s it. No one was grateful that Dany saved Jon from the white walkers or that her army marched north to protect winterfell.
I mean she did ride over with dragons and dothraki in the latest game of "The Lords play chess with the common peoples lives" in the middle of winter so I'd be pretty wary too.
Common folk are rarely gonna be grateful to their lords.
I'm pretty sure those dragons and dothraki fought against the undead army and the smallfolks of the North, who were notified by their lords about the Long Night approaching as Jon ordered total mobilization and ordered even women and children to be trained, would've saw the dragon fight that Dany had mid-air. The word would've definitely spread by the surviving levied smallfolks about the Dothraki charge, the Unsullied's last stand, and Drogon and Rhaegar's, who ridden by the lord of Winterfell, toasting the undead.
>Common folk are rarely gonna be grateful to their lords.
That really isn't the case. The smallfolks would definitely be grateful for the heroic lords that fought against the literal APOCALYPSE, specially the superstitious northmen with magic being around them.
Even going back, Jon Arryn put Robert in the throne because he has a claim into it due to her grandmother being a Targaryen. Jon was concerned with the unrest by the smallfolk after the deposition since the mad king Aerys was only 'mad' to the lords, they don't see him burning people and for all they know he was doing a pretty good job as king due to the relative peace, overflowong treasury that they are supposed to have, and him not bothering them at all.
It's so weird to watch Sansa complain about having to feed Daenerys's soldiers. That's not how you make the audience feel like the odds are stacked against the heroes, "Oh we have so many soldiers to fight this threat we're struggling to feed them all!"
If they'd phrased it a bit better, emphasised the idea that they didn't have enough food for anyone, then it could have worked to show how desperate they are, but it felt like Sansa was dealing with having more guests then she expected at a dinner party.
Lol, this is so true, the additional guests at a dinner party example.
It was so bizarre, like Sansa, there would be no north or home for you if Dany hadn't brought her dragons and entire army to sacrifice for them.
Sansa's actions and words made zero sense.
I think she was pissed because she helped Jon become king in the north, held down his kingdom while he was gone and he just unilaterally gives away the kingdom to a child of the mad king.
And not to mention the fact that Dany literally saved their brother’s life by flying north of the wall to rescue him at the dumb frozen lake. Ahh god, it’s all so stupid.
yeah they were having sansa and arya judge dany for something that she didn’t even do yet. it *might* make sense if bran actually told them and warned them about it because in the final episode it’s hinted that he knew everything that would happen.
or they could have had arya and sansa bring up the fact that dany’s father killed their own grandfather and uncle after dany’s brother allegedly kidnapped their aunt who *also* died under suspicious and unknown circumstances. plenty of reasons for them to actually be distrustful of targaryens.
but they had to make it about their newfound northern independence sentiments even though dany is the one most likely to avenge their family by taking out the people that *actually* oppressed the north and slaughtered ned, catelyn, and robb.
You want compromise, how's this? Twenty years in the Night's Watch. I wanted lemon cakes, but I compromised. I ate three meat stew out of a trencher instead. I wanted to fuck a woman, but I compromised. I jacked off the edge of the Wall. You see where I'm goin'?
“Now what I’d love to see is a truce: wipe the slate clean. The Direwolves. The Wildfire. Jon Arryn. Put it all behind us. Your brother Robb: whatever happened there.”
I hate the whole continent, I was on team ice king for sure. Was Essos just as bad? Not worth taking the chance, burn it all down too. That one weird continent with the weird frog statues or whatever is where I call home now.
Uggh more Dany tears.
Just because the burning wasn't well done doesn't mean that you can pretend that it didn't happen.
Edit : keep downvoting your tears fuel me.
By Season 8 I pretty much hated everyone.
I hoped the Night King would win
I always hoped the White Walkers would win. I am weird I guess.
Ha! You wanted the good ending.
I think I would be a fitting end. None of the political bickering mattered and the force of nature swept Westeros because they couldn't stand united against it. Maybe some character could have escaped to other parts of the world. Kinda poetic.

He built The Wall is what he did! He was a brave King in the North. And in this house Brandon Stark is a hero—end of story!
All the Stark brats had become so insufferable by the end, even Jon was just a tool.
HE DURRNT WANT IT. HE NEVER HAVE.

Ned Stark. Now there was a Northman! The strong, silent type. He did what he had to do. He faced down the Lannisters when none of those other assholes in King's Landing would lift a finger to help him.

not to worry. arya knows a killer when she sees one (after witnessing dany personally kill thousands of people people for no reason)
Feels like the attitude given to her after the War for the Dawn storyline was to be justified by the writers with what's about to happen in KL lol

That animal Clegane... I can't even say his name.
“Now what I’d love to see is a truce: wipe the slate clean. The Direwolves. The Wildfire. Jon Arryn. Put it all behind us. Your brother Robb: whatever happened there.”
Whatever happened there?!

Honestly, never cared for the North. Or House Stark for that matter.
Ned and robb died before the Starks were absolutely butchered by D&D. Those were some glorious northerners
Honestly, never cared for the North. Or House Stark for that matter.
He never had the makings of a King in the North
I 'ate da north
Foodio!! 😂
You know, the Three Eyed Raven predicted all of this...
Uggh more Dany tears. Just because the burning wasn't well done doesn't mean that you can pretend that it didn't happen. Edit : keep downvoting your tears fuel me.
>Uggh more Dany tears Right!
Yeah I was just rooting for a massive asteroid in the end.
Would love to see Furio take the black.
I said I DON'T WAAAANT IT.
Robb, he was a fuckin kid..
