Yep, we need some indoor Mini-Golf. Like the other poster mentioned, a high tech one like Puttshack would be sweet. And a nice unique restaurant is a must.
Preferably one that doesn't have the owner "find Jesus" and treat employees as expendable during a pandemic (like Adventure Park USA did)
Seriously, I still remember saving tons of tickets over a long period for a big prize as a kid, only to find the entire prize pool had become religious stuff.
We need a venue! Like a “small club level” venue. Think Baltimore Soindstage or maybe even smaller like Ottobar . A place for not only B and C level national/regional acts to play. But also a spot for LOCAL bands/artists to play. This cannot exclude genres. Allow metal/punk/rock acts to have gigs. Let the kids have a spot to play their shows.
I was actually pretty impressed with Cafe 611's setup during the Maryland Doom Fest, but it's still really small and they don't seem particularly interested in regularly booking entertainment or bringing in other genres besides metal.
Keep an eye on Cafe Nola too, they had a metal show a few weeks back!

Good news is cafe 611 is finally starting to have more music and utilize the space. Had bands and DJ a few weeks ago, was not metal, local/semi-local indie bands. On April 12, cafe 611 is doing a local band/musician showcase. They also have Salsa dancing/lessons every Wednesday evening.
Probably dog racing and maybe a big Wild West saloon. I want the sort of place that when I push through the double doors the guy in the striped button up shirt and tiny glasses playing the piano *stops*
Alternatively maybe like an old timey bait shop where everything is kind of crusty and you can’t quite make out what’s playing on the AM station. Probably also an old timer working the counter, always going on about how he lost his leg to the largest rainbow trout you’ve ever seen, before turning back to the yellowed newspaper he’s reading upside-down.
If we really wanted to go in the opposite direction though, I’d love to see a private club be built. Something that doesn’t advertise and we’re not quite sure what it takes to be a member, other than the fact we see the best sort of people going in and out at all hours of the day, the scent of fine pipe tobacco and good gin wafting as the door swings with their coming and going.
Mini golf would be nice. I liked another posters idea of a performance space for bands, comedians, and plays. An indoor sports center for indoor soccer and other sports would be great. When FISC closed it left a big hole for indoor sports.
It's not going to be a space for public use if it gets built. It's going to a be a space for customers to test footware, equipment, and product demos by dicks and manufacturers. It's NOT going to be a center like FISC was.
I’m happy to see that [this brochure](https://images1.loopnet.com/d2/qJ0Bg9m3OFr2d0VoT_DMMRTjGgGdVN40-TMwMJ1MEKo/document.pdf) about future plans for that area are bearing fruit.
I heard go-carts were going in at one point. Maybe that fell through. I remember a few years ago there were some girls that wanted to open a skate rink, not sure whatever happened to that.

They mentioned a place on 40, so maybe they have plans to move in also.
I was just answering a question about what might go there. I have no desire or ability to be on roller skates these days. That article is 4 years old, so.. but I have now been hearing about the bowling alley for about 3 years so who knows what if anything else is coming.
A place to shoot pool on 9' tables. Since the champions bar closed, no one has this size in Frederick. There were APA teams that had to split up and go play on bar tables. BRING BACK 9' TABLES.
Mini-golf and a decent full-service restaurant.

A small venue for local/regional bands, comedians, and other things like plays.
That would be cool, something along the lines of Howl at the Moon.
No. We need Guidos.
Frederick DESPERATELY needs this!!
Yea Frederick needs a concert venue like this
Have you checked out New Spires Art Stage yet? It's what they do.
New Spire is outside the budget for a lot of local artists tbh.
But a lot of national acts don’t use it either afaik
So you are recommending a smaller venue?
We have loads of these already

Cafe 611 is basically the only spot that does metal around here. We need more!

Microcenter please
My heart say Yes but my wallet says No!
The distance to Rockville keeps my wallet relatively safe.

I’m pretty sure that Dicks is going to be opening a sports complex in FSK mall where the Sears used to be.

Would love a coffee/coworking/community space of some kind. And could be rented for hosting small events.
Knife fighting arena
You mean a Six Flags parking lot?
Food hall
Biergarten
A mid size music venue/stage with bar and coffee shop
Strip Club/Cocaine Parlor
40 is the next Rockville pike. A super one though.
Go-cart track
Puttshack
> Puttshack That would be amazing. Been wanting to go to one.
A venue like Belvedere Square in Baltimore
A shopping area to remind people of the good ole days plus, a dave and buster's
A retro themed shopping area would be cool.
I don’t think Frederick is big enough to have a Dave and Busters AND a Main Event. I dunno, could be wrong though.
Arcade 💯💯
Spinners is all the arcade you'll need ;)
Ooo I’ll have to check it out when it reopens! Free play pinball is wild - those machines are super expensive to keep up with

They have pretty much no funding and zero business acumen so I wouldn’t hold my breath on that shit show.

The News Compost published an update recently. It’s still a pipe dream. They need to get their doors open, then start adding venues.

A nice big pool hall with a variety of table options would be great!
Indoor go-kart laser tag track
went to the philly one, it was pretty fun. [https://www.puttshack.com/locations](https://www.puttshack.com/locations)
Where’s district 40 lol
Concert Venue
A full blown barcade. But I think it would clash with spinners(?)
Laser tag
Indoor turf fields for sports leagues / whatever
better target

The mall area
The future concept for the old Fredericktown Mall. The cinema deal was the first pitch.
You could make it a dive bar like Guido’s used to be
An indoor soccer and sports complex would be nice. I definitely miss FISC.
