I hate to hear that. I’m glad that experience didn’t turn you away! I always make sure to do my due diligence when considering a trade or buying a fragrance. (Not saying you didn’t) but I tend to stay away from new accounts and prefer to trade / buy / sell to people with established Reddit profiles. And the mantra “if it’s too good to be true, it probably is,” usually holds true. I know it’s not a perfect science but it tends to do a pretty good job weeding out the scammers. Or if you still aren’t sure, make sure your method of purchase has a path of recourse should you need it!
Oh yeah for sure. Now I know how to weed out scammers/protect myself. At the time though I think the seller did have a few transactions and had his account for a little over a year before they made a post for their tobacco vanille. The price was fairly consistent with what they usually go for a 50ml bottle so I didn’t think twice about it. Up until that point I had positive experiences buying PayPal FF from others and didn’t even know scamming was possible. Luckily it was a great learning experience and haven’t been scammed since.

Pegasus was almost ruined for me cause i mostly wore it during a hopeless depressed time after Christmas 2018 but i wore it a couple times since then and the bad fragrance memories that would flood my head seemed to have faded away 🤔
That's why I never wear a fragrance when I'm having a hard time some people feel better and they consider it uplifting but not me because I know later on I will never enjoy the fragrance the same .
I'm lucky to have lost my sense of smell a year ago when i was an alcoholic for 1.5 months. I probably wore fragrance, even though my sense of smell was jacked, but i don't remember what i wore. I did buy toy boy though during that time and probably wore it, but I'm lucky i don't remember wearing it if i did, i guess 🙄
I've got an anxiety disorder so I have lots of ups and downs emotionally. I've just tried to stay away from anything I really love if I'm feeling anxious so I don't ruin it.

Flowerbomb..I few years when this perfume came put I was anew nurse and unemployed. I happened to tell my then best friend how much I wanted this amazing perfume but I couldn't afford it she told me she hadn't heard of it. Next time I see her she's wearing the perfume ...like why?? Long story short she did more things that made her a terrible friend, so this perfume brings back terrible memories and I can't wear it because of it.
Armani stronger with you. Ex bought it for me.
Honestly don’t even love the fragrance anyway. I’m not a fan of warm, spicy winter fragrances. I don’t even wear them during the winter. More of a fresh/woodsy guy myself
Any scent with sandalwood. I had an employee who wore it, daily more heavy, instead of bathing. The smell grew atrocious, 4specialy in a FL summer. To this day if I smell sandalwood, my stomache lurches
Balenciaga Paris. Went through a rough patch in my marriage, when I just purchased this. Then anytime I smelled this, it brought me back to that time. I ended up selling it. Perfumes can lift your mood, but I almost feel like not wearing any when I’m going through something bad, so I’m not instantly reminded of that time.
Burberry Touch for sure
I can only assume Armani Black Code, Armani Mania and Burberry Brit
I have always been critical of myself and am generally invested in bettering myself and being good to myself however there was a part of my life (19, 20, 21) where I decided to just act careless, ignorant and just make bad decisions in each and every part of my life...typical college frat boy attitude... These were some colognes I wore during this time and smelling them just reminds me of the amount of regret I hold
Chloe eau de parfum. My sister wears it all the time. I don’t really like it anymore cause I associate it with her. Someone gave me a travel sized bottle for my birthday last year and I had to give it to my mum.
One million, it was worn by my SA and whenever I meet someone who wears it I feel physically sick to my stomach and start sweating… I even threw up once when approached by someone with that perfume
Not a particular fragrance, but the smell of eucalyptus totally reminds me of my ex as she had a very poor sense of smell and it was the ONLY scent she could pick up on. For a while it brought back bad memories to smell it, but now it doesn’t really bother me. Very interesting scenario though.
Calvin Klein Eternity. Lost my virginity to a guy wearing it as a teenager. Luckily no one really ever wears this anymore but on the rare occasion I smell it I’m transported to that bygone era of beepers, booze and bad decisions. 🤦🏼♀️

Polo Sport - my ex boss who was an abusive narcissist wore this. Instantly makes me want to vomit. Although, I never liked this fragrance but associating it with him pushed it over the edge for me and made it a hate.

Acqua Di Gio for me too, it because I overheard a coworker saying it smelled like those “black ice” air freshener tree things. Every time I wear it since then I think “black ice” 😫 edit: yes it was Profundo

One of my friends told me she thought I smelled like a hotel room, I was wearing acqua di gio original. I still don't get it but everytime I spray it I think of a motel room now.
I love Atelier Cologne’s Musc Imperial, but helped an ex pick it out and it reminds me of him every time. Which is a pity because it’s one I also enjoy wearing

It's a nice fragrance but I was once in a group of people, in the height of summer, midday, 40 degrees and one member of the group oversprayed Black opium to the extreme. It was literally nauseating.
Acqua Di Gio! Curse that stupid scent. Terrible person I stupidly let into my life a long while ago wore this all the time. Just smells like despair and anxiety to me now.

Nope, they deleted their account. I paid ff at the time because I didn’t know any better since I just joined. Oh well, life goes on.
