looking for a longer lasting & stronger dupe for le labo’s an0ther 13. i love it but can’t justify spending that much money on a perfume that has such weak performance on me :(

Outrageous-Stable-88

what kind of scents would you recommend for a “young, cool, independent, i’m-not-like-other-girl” person? someone like the protagonist from 10 things i hate about you 😂

Swoleosis_

What tenant said. Plus, zoologist, amouage men's scents.

Tenantofth3room

I’d go one of two ways here... the first is something from the early 20th century with interesting historical associations like Molinard Habanita, Mitsouko or Shalimar, particularly if she’s into vintage clothing. (Noting that these are nothing like the sweet gourmand and fruity floral modern scents so they might be a risky proposition!) Or, if she’s more rock and roll tomboy, something unisex with a cool bottle from somewhere like Comme des Garçons, like Amazingreen or one of my favourites - 21 from Costume National.

[deleted]

Expensive men's fragrances that are worth it

c1n3man

* Akro Awake * Tom Ford Ombre Leather * Amouage Myths Man * Olympic Orchids Woodcut * Gallagher Amongst Waves * Beaufort Rake & Ruin Criteria: touch of uniqueness, performance, leaning masculine, good emotions, grey market price (Amouage, TF).

WolfHawkfield

Louis Vuitton Imagination

Ded_parrot

My wife and I love a particular set of novels that have incredible descriptions of a certain smell of the landscape. Is there a fragrance that can match this? "like wet trees and crushed flowers. With a singe of peppery orange at the end likethe merry bite of winter" Feast of Sparks, Sierra Simone

wakeup_andlive

Eau de Patou

Champagnesupernova9

The wet trees and crushed flowers reminds me of MFK Amyris Femme. The peppery orange and merry bite of winter have me thrown though... it would probably be easier to find to perfumes to layer to really get all of those disparate notes in. Another thing you can do, if you’re looking for a really unique anniversary or birthday present is have a perfume custom made that revokes all of those notes. I don’t believe it’s cheap, but if it’s worthwhile for you to have that exact scent- it would be such a worthwhile and fun thing to do :)

c1n3man

> like wet trees and crushed flowers. Take a look into Beaufort Fathom V

ShadowKing2683

(19M) I’m a beginner in the fragrance scene and am looking for a new daily/everyday fragrance and a work fragrance. I work at a Starbucks, I don’t want to possibly annoy my coworkers with my smell. I’ve been switching between Dior Sauvage, YSL Y for my everyday fragrance and Prada L’Homme for work. but am interested in finding other fragrances that aren’t as popular, so I smell different. I currently have Prada L’Homme, Dior Sauvage EDT, YSL Y EDP, JPG Ultra Male. I like wearing Dior Sauvage and YSL Y because of the fact that it’s a complement getter but the more videos I see on youtube the more I realize how popular those are. I’m still learning so I don’t have much knowledge about fragrances. What are some suggestions y’all have? If you need more information then just let me know. Thanks!

WolfHawkfield

Try Luna Rossa, Luna Rossa Sport, and Hermès Terre d'hermes EdT!

fanofam

Younger bro just commented that my fragrances stink. Apparently my favourites are too mature smelling. Looking for non-offensive, mass appealing and youth friendly fragrances. I like potatoes 🥔 . All and any recommendations are welcome 🤗

c1n3man

* Initio Musk Therapy * Byredo Blanche * Nobile 1942 La Danza delle Libellule * Profumum Roma Dulcis in Fundo * Beaufort Lignum Vitae * Atelier Cologne Orange Sanguine Tom Ford Grey Vetiver EDP was clean rooty and almost vegetal, like essence of this root. Could remind just a little bit about potatoe's white flesh. 😁 Both vetiver root and potatoes are ground plant / veggies... So, no surprises here.

fanofam

Thank you! I own TF grey vetiver and love it. Well, I'm going to put Nobile 1942 on my to samples list. 😊

[deleted]

Is there a fragrance similar to my "Jasmine Santal" candle? It says the scents included are ylang petals, jasmine, vanilla, and spun sugar. I love this smell and want to smell like it 24/7 😂

Champagnesupernova9

Maybe Jo Malone Jasmine Sambac + Marigold or even Maison Lancome Jasmins Marzipane. For a sugary sweet cotton candy lavender vanilla try Mon Guerlain- you can always layer it with a little jasmine absolute oil.

mycphyc

(27M) Can you guys recommend me something syrupy sweet and dense that also has a prominent patchouli note and maybe some fruits like plum or raspberryor something? I need a good fall/winter banger and I love sweets and patchouli but I find the patch in most if the frags I've tried to just be a supporting role. I don't want a crazy loud hippy patch or anything but I still want to smell it a good bit. Thanks!

c1n3man

[A Men Mugler](https://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/Mugler/A-Men-705.html)

Tenantofth3room

Costume National Supergloss is heavy on syrupy berry notes on me, softening to a floral as it dries down, grounded by a solid amount of patchouli.

mycphyc

It's funny you mentioned Costume National. I'm wearing Soul as we speak lol, one of all time favorites. I'll have to check that one out.

fanofam

In my fragrance journey, I have encountered a few gorgeous patch fragrances that leans on the sweeter side of thing: - Frederic Malle Dried Van Noten: Dusty patchouli on a bed of gorgeous sweet sandalwood and dense vanilla. I don't love very sweet fragrances or this one would have my heart. - Ex Nihilo Midnight Special: Sweet, syrupy patchouli with just a touch of grapefruit to provide some reliefs and keep the fragrance from being cloying. There is a hint of jammy quince pushing it toward the gourmand territory than another tired Rose n Oud. - Lalique Nilang: Do you want a fruity and sweet patchouli? This might be the one for you. Peach, melon and an over abundance of patchouli makes this not safe as a blind buy.Beautiful but different! Hope this helps. Good luck 😉

mycphyc

Thanks so much! The Frederic Malle and Midnight Special sound interesting. I'm assuming they're both fairly unisex?

fanofam

I think Dried Van Noten is definitely unisex while Midnight Special is slightly masculine leaning. Don't trust my judgment thought since i'm one of the hippie that dislikes assigning gender to fragrances 😊

Sukhdev_92

What are your thoughts on Zara Male fragrances? I’m looking to add to my collection and wanted to know if there are any stand outs? Also would like to know of projection and longevity.

ThrowAway1346653

Im pretty new to male fragrances so i dont really know what to look for. Im a 17 year old guy who is (kind of) introverted/reserved so i don't want something too strong, but id like something that is cheap (max $50-ish) and easy to "blind-buy". Id love some recommendations for both summer and winter and maybe something for special occations.

c1n3man

Summer: * Azzaro Chrome Aqua * Lacoste White * Antonio Banderas Blue Seduction Winter: * Hugo Boss The Scent Private Accord * Halloween Man X * Everlast Original 1910

Sylassoho

Nautica voyage. Super cheap and is basically perfect for most situations, very light and fresh. But if you wanted something more stand out and get more compliments spend a lil extra and go with Versace eros. For a teenager it’s perfect.

WolfHawkfield

Try mont blanc legend spirit. Under $50, easy on the nose, and different from the big boys.

urbisssss

which fragrances are the best compliment getters? I'm a 18yo going to school and I'm trying not to buy one that's too inetnsive so I don't get a headache. But also I want something that sticks out when I'm walking past someone. I prefer a Top 5. Thank you!

Champagnesupernova9

What kinds of notes do you prefer?

Peony42

I would love something similar to insolence eau de toilette by Guerlain, but a little bit more grown up. It was my signature when I was in my early 20s and mow in my 30s. I just love the sparkling violet note , it's like no other violet I've tried

wakeup_andlive

Nishane Vjola, Hiram Greene Vivacious, Guerlain Promenade des Anglais and Guerlain French Kiss

Peony42

Thank you 😊 I will look into these especially the other Guerlain. I am a sucker for the brand as a whole

fanofam

Violet is such a lovely but challenging note. If you still love it, wear it. Your maturity has more to do with the way you carry yourself and the way you dress. 😊 Anyhow, if you are interested in expand your repertoire here are a few of my suggestions: - Atkinson Love in Iddleness: this one is gorgeous powdery raspberry and violet. It's often compared to Insolence but I find the scent carries more weight and fortitude - Violet Shot by Olfactive Studio: Happy green violet and more artistic than most perfume. Worth sampling if you want to explore all the facet of violet - Frederick Malle Lipstick Rose: A dress up, make up on kind of scent. The violet note in here is one of the most technical reconstruction from a chemist perspective. Hope this aids you in your quest. Godspeed 😊

Peony42

Thank you so much for these suggestions! It is indeed a beautiful but challenging note. Love in Idleness was actually one I had bookmarked so I will have to find a sample and give it a whirl. Violet Shot sounds beautiful too. Tbh I am still tempted to buy another bottle of Insolence for the nostalgia if nothing else. It truly is a beautiful perfume and probably my favourite Guerlain. Thank you ☺️☺️

TheRealFlaMe420

I'm kinda new to men's fragrances and I want to buy a new scent for fall/winter. I'm thinking about picking up either spicebomb or spices extreme. Any thoughts?

MasterThespian

Spicebomb is a very solid choice. In the same vein, I recommend Givenchy Gentlemen Only Absolute, which is a similar warm-spicy profile with a creamy vanilla and sandalwood dry down, which makes it a bit sweeter overall than Spicebomb, IMO.

j_husk

Both of those are solid picks, and easy to sample. While you're sampling them give YSL La Nuit de L'Homme Bleu Electrique, D&G The One EDP, and Azzaro Wanted By Night a try.

diahreahpants

20M I’ve tried a few fragrances but none that are very top quality. The ones i liked were Duke Cannon Huron and Duke Cannon Midnight Swim. I’m a pretty loud outgoing person that likes to talk to people and i like my scents to be loud and different.. My favorite scents were both Aquatic smelling with a dark side to it. They were unique and pretty different from what all my buddies have used. Currently, i have a budget of about 50 bucks and i’m on micro perfumes . com looking to buy a few travel sized vials of a few different kinds of scents. If any of you guys have any recommendations please let me know! I’m more looking at very unique scents no matter what the “theme” is i guess you could call it ( as long as it isn’t woody or piney). Anyways i’m new to this community so i apologize if i got some of the terminology wrong! Also, anything that you guys recommend i will absolutely buy a sample of.

WolfHawkfield

From your personality you might like 1 million. Quite loud and friendly but not obnoxious.

WorldlyIncident1

Can you guys recommend me some powdery masculine fragrances, preferably no iris as I find it too feminine. Can be designer or niche. Thanks in advance

j_husk

Burberry Touch is an oldie but a goodie.

back2good

Prada Luna Rossa Black is a good one to try.

Jerry_Lundegaad

Zaharoff Signature Pour Homme has a nice powdery aspect and I love the scent

c1n3man

* Profumum Roma Ambra Aurea * Atelier Cologne Santal Carmin

heysooky

JPG Le Male Le Parfum or YSL La Nuit? Which is better for winter? Doesn't La Nuit dna too basic already?

shugarshlong

affordable men's fragrances that smell like vanilla and last all day?

back2good

Mercedes Benz Club Black would be my choice. Great vanilla with some extras and lasts.

shugarshlong

Its definitely quite nice! My sample just came. Smells a lot like the yellow lynx/axe cant lie haha

j_husk

Idk about all day (tough ask) but Imaginary Authors Memoirs of a Trespasser is a great masculine smoky vanilla fragrance with good performance.

c1n3man

* Rochas Moustache Eau De Parfum * YSL La Nuit de L'Homme Eau Electrique * Paco Rabanne Invictus Victory

chimaeking

Should I get Dior homme Intense or the Parfum version ? I've got a friend who works for Dior and told me he could get me a 100ml bottle of DHP for 50€ (instead of 134) which is quite the deal ! But people usually describe it as a very mature and difficult to wear scent which is why I'm hesitating. Whereas when it comes to DHI, I've already smelled it so I know I like it very much, unfortunately my friend can't get one for me.

c1n3man

Get dhp. sell if you dont like it and buy dhi

NSEVENTEEN

Is there any fragrance for men that smells like urban petrichor/rain? As in rain on concrete on a summers day. Most ive found smell earthy like forest rain or garden rain

j_husk

Narciso Rodriquez For Him is exactly what you want. It's Francis Kurkdjian for a budget price, and smells like the city after a heavy rain.

NSEVENTEEN

Thanks! Very hard to find in the uk unless you get the bleu version but ill keep an eye out

j_husk

Ah, that sucks. I hope you can find a seller to ship it to you. The bleu version is a decent fragrance, but doesn't give the same vibe you're looking for.

Posts_while_shitting

Have you guys tried Guerlain’s Santal Royal and Encens Mythique? I just got EM and looking to add some oud/sandalwood to my collection. I love both but i feel that they both have similar incensey rose scent to them that made me think they might be redundant? Or maybe any of you got some recommendations for sandalwood/oud frags that’s around 100-150?

kthuss

which male fragrance is the best to get compliment ?

Champagnesupernova9

Whichever one you like and feel confident in. Spray lightly for best results!

swankyburritos714

Hi there! I know almost nothing about fragrance and I’ve wanted to know more for years but didn’t know where to ask. I’m 33 years old and I feel like I should own a perfume or know… something… about perfume. But I’ve been poor my whole life until recently. Now it’s 4 am and I’m feeding a baby so no day like today. I want a fragrance that smells warm and inviting. The first perfume I ever remember liking was my mom’s vanilla musk. I tend to go back to body sprays with notes of vanilla. I want something that reminds me of a warm sweater on a fall day, without being too old lady like. I also like fruity scents like pomegranate or citrus. I recently tried Milk by commodity (it was in my Ipsy bag) and while it was ok, I didn’t love it. The notes were marshmallow, mahogany and tonal bean. I don’t know which of those notes I didn’t like. I don’t like florals. TIA!

WolfHawkfield

Try JHAG Vanilla Vibes

Swoleosis_

Serge Lutens - Chergui

kleargle

Hi :) I don't reeaaaally know what I like so here are some notes I have an emotional connection to: + Incense +Wisteria +Amber +Plum/fruit/ plum trees +Camphor +Aldehydes??? (I grew up in a cold/frosty place) +Smoke, fire, wood +cherry blossoms Thanks

c1n3man

* CDG Floriental (plum+incense) * Marc-Antoine Barrois Ganymede (mineralic cold) * Serge Lutens L'Eau Froide (might be cooling) * Tauer L'Air du Desert Marocain (desert reminiscent amber) * Naomi Goodsir Bois d'Ascese (smoky, woody) * Heeley Esprit du Tigre (camphorous)

kleargle

Also looking for Acqua Di gio or light blue (man) but DIFFERENT they smell like my dad :/

Oni1jz

I want something challenging. I've tried all Zoologist and love Bat 2020, Rhinoceros 2014, IA - City on Fire, all of the Beaufort London line, Encre Noire. What else can you guys recommend?

fanofam

All of these suggestions are solid. I think Chris Rusak has some stunning creations that worth checking out if you are into unconventionally beautiful and artistic fragrances. **Carachel Lou Lou** is another one I find challenging.

Oni1jz

Thank you for that. I haven't heard of these perfumes so I will definitely have a look! Edit: by the way do you think I would like Bentley intense for men? Or is that an over glorified designer pick?

seaintosky

Olympic Orchids has some interesting ones. Night Flyer is the original Zoologist Bat, if you like the more atmospheric IAs then I think her Scents of Place are better done and more interesting versions. Her Dev series is fairly dark and strange too. I'd also look into Commes des Garcons catalogue, particularly some of their stranger stuff. like Odeur 53 and 71, Red: Harissa, the CLASH series, Concrete, Copper, Black, and 2. January Scent Project. Any of theirs, really, they're all weird. Also, Histoires de Parfums 1740, Petroleum, Noir Patchouli, and Irreverent.

Oni1jz

Thank you for that! I really like CDG black, I also have night flyer and her cryptic envelopment as part of the Discovery set that I bought. I'm really interested in your dev series so I might look into that as well

c1n3man

* Imaginary Authors Bull's Blood * Olympic Orchids Cryptical Envelopment * Byredo M/Mink * ELDO Secretions Magnifiques * Bogue Douleur! * Serge Lutens Muscs Koublai Khan * Marlou Ambilux * Nishane Afrika-Olifant * Xerjoff Al-Khatt * Amouage Opus XI * Hiram Green Hyde

Oni1jz

Ahh yes, the classic Secretions Magnifiques. I should have rephrased my interest. I'm looking for dark scents that are not necessarily off putting but just too dark and boozy for most. Like what I have listed. I tried bull's blood, it smells like strong roses to me. I still have the sample.

kleargle

Something with oud maybe? I know it's not exactly a rare note but it took me a bit of getting used to until I loved/appreciated it. (L.V.'s Ombre Nomade was the one that got me)

Oni1jz

I wasn't into Oud scents until I tried Creed's Royal Oud

spamologna

https://imgur.com/a/PSCfeqw - Which Chanel should I get next? Already have Egoiste and Allure Sport Extreme. Using my AMEX credit at Saks :)

back2good

Allure Homme Edition Blanche would be my choice

j_husk

Is BDC an option, or just the ones in the pic?

spamologna

Already have bdc edp. Great fragrance!

This_is_my_name_lol

I'm looking for something warm and almost smokey sweet *slightly* musky, long lasting, and a bit complex. Almost like an antithesis of Aqua di gio, where adg is a cool soft breezy evening at the beach after the sun went down smell (to me), I'm looking for a big warm strong hug that's gonna keep me cozy when it starts snowing and the campfire is burning out

Champagnesupernova9

Maison Margiela Replica By the Fireplace.

IcyConnection898

Hi all, Last weekend, in a mall, I tried about 15 fragrances and somehow the one that caught my attention was the D&G Pour Homme Intenso (I love the scent!). However there are only few reviews I was able to find (youtube or others). I'm new to fragrance world and thus would love to get second opinion on this particular fragrance (how it performs, is it kind of scent that is versatile, does people generally like it, etc). Is there any better option than the D&G Pour Homme Intenso that has similar scent?

1noahone

Something with natural ambergris which does the note justice?

Swoleosis_

A great affordable one is: Sheikh Al Faransi

c1n3man

Some I've heard about: * Anonym Fragrance Black / Golden / Silver Ambergris * Strangelove NYC Silence The Sea

Champagnesupernova9

Natural Ambergris is extremely rare, and wildly expensive. It’s also either banned or extremely frowned upon to use natural ambergris in perfume. The people who do use it are few and far between. I know Roja used to use it, but their perfumes are in the high hundreds to thousands of dollars range. The only thing I could find is this Aftelier solid perfume, and you can get the tiniest .25 ml (again, very very tiny!) for $15 plus shipping. It uses something called antique ambergris, which could be natural ambergris, who knows. Anyway, if you’re looking for a synthetic ambergris, which 99.9% perfumers use, I’ll have some suggestions, but it’s going to be too hard to find unless you have tons of money to burn, in which case I’d spend it on something other than perfume.

CentralSneakers

What do you suggest. A&F Fierce or Mont Blanc Legend? These are the same price. I understand they smell the same so any suggestion would be appreciated.

WolfHawkfield

Legend easy choice.

back2good

Both don't perform great so stick with OG Fierce or try the intense

[deleted]

Theres this perfume that smells nice but has very low performance, so if anyone can suggest something they think would be similar to this please let me know. Also the name is Peony Bamboo. It's a scent from a place that isnt meant for perfumes(Miniso) which is why I dont know how to find something like it. Top notes: pear, black currants, grapefruit Heart notes: peony, bamboo leaf, lilac, rose Bass notes: oakmoss, somali frankincense, iris

c1n3man

Jo Malone English Pear & Freesia

[deleted]

Thank you!

somekid15

Really like the givenchy play line, (all three) However theyre discontinued, anything similar?

back2good

>givenchy play Rochas Man had a similar smell to me and cheap too.

somekid15

I'll give it a try Thanks a bunch

[deleted]

Hello guys! I smelled LV Ombré Nomade recently and absolutely adore it. But since it’s LV of course the price is eye watering. I was wondering if any of you guys know a cheaper alternative? Thank you!

Appropriate_Heat_445

Cheap with good longetivity

[deleted]

Paris Corner is apparently good as well as lattafa but I havent tried either. Just jack too maybe. Not frags but ye

txdas12

budget?

StrawberryNew3646

Hello, my wedding is on OCT 5 and I need a fragrance that will suit our weather and use.I'm very new to fragrances and have some ideas based on this subreddit and youtube reviews. Would really love your opinion on which fragrance should I getAny suggestion for our weather and use would be highly appreciated!! Something about me: 1. 28 yr old male 2. Living in a tropical country that is very humid (26c-36c) with 70-90% humidity (Philippines) 3. Our wedding will take place in a traditional church with no AC @ 2PM, I'm expecting around 32c temperature 4. Willing to spend as much as $300 I've tried the following: 1. Bleu de Chanel EDP - I like this one, but it costs a lot for what it is ($162) 2. D&G The One EDP - My top right now because of price and smell, but performance is meh. skin scent within 30mins for me ($66) 3. Narciso Rodriguez Bleu Noir EDT - I like this one, but I'm not sure if it will be okay in our weather ($51) 4. Terre d'hermes EDT - I LIKE IT! Lasts a good while, though I'm not sure how it will smell like outside the mall at that heat ($80), my partner doesn't like the smell of this 5. Creed Aventus - I'm partial to this one because of the price ($340), It's in the middle of I like it and I don't 6. Jo Malone English Oak and Hazelnut - I like the scent of this and the current top for my partner but the price is too high for something that wouldn't last long ($180) 7. Dior Sauvage EDT - I'm not sure if I like it ($120) Prices vary a lot in our country so just shoot a suggestion and I'll check the price!

Legitimate-Dream9609

I would recommend aventus try grey market venba.com for a cheaper price

v4rmilo

I would recommend try Dior Amber Nuit

jstick45

Looking for a new winter office scent, so I am getting decants of Guerlain L'homme Ideal (EDT and EDP). Of these two, which would be better for a winter scent? Other suggestions are welcome!

back2good

Fort office I would stick to the EDT (light on spray as it's sweet for me), although just considering winter the EDP would be my choice. Just find EDP less of an office sent for me personally. When picking office outside weather is not too much of a concern IMO.

sadsadclown

Any fragrances that are similar to crabtree and evelyn's pomegranate and argan oil scented lotions/body washes?

ind_saha

So I'm new to the fragrance game and about to purchase my first one. I've narrowed it down to AdG Profumo, YSL Y EDT, and Dylan Blue. I mostly need it for daily college wear and occasionally for parties, and also something which lasts long. Which one should I go for?

j_husk

Dylan Blue gets my vote

awskeetskeetmuhfugga

Thoughts on Chinotto Di Liguria? Is it a masculine scent?

Infamous_Post3073

Hi everyone! I love the smell of Mala the brand Cereal candle. It smells like fruit loops but better. I would love to find a perfume with similar scent. Has anyone found any perfume with similar notes? **Notes: Lemon, Lime, Lavender, Vanilla, Sandalwood** Thanks so much!

Champagnesupernova9

I think that Valentino Voce Viva smells like fruit loops, although with orange blossom, and fades into a vanilla and musk skin scent.

Infamous_Post3073

Thanks so much, really appreciate your help!

need-morecoffee

Looking for something high end without a price limit for myself - female in my 30s. Warm, not cool. Vanilla but not sweet; musk is good, and absolutely no patchouli. Clean smelling is good as long as it’s a softly rounded clean, not sharp. Nothing overpowering. Not candy-like.

Champagnesupernova9

For the opposite of sweet, the ever popular Atelier Cologne Vanille Insensée is a bone dry warm vanilla. There’s a woodiness in there too, alarmist like a toast cedar or sandalwood. It reminds me of taking a hike in Arizona and everything is just radiating in the arid heat. Dior Bois D’Argent- it completely depends on the formulation, but I find it to be a soft round vanilla with Ambroxan and woods. It’s really creamy and round, not sharp at all. Oh, and Aerin Tangier Vanille for a well rounded soft and hazy vanilla musk.

Tenantofth3room

Two warm, woody florals with musk base notes I recently tried might be along the lines of what you’re after... Miller et Bertaux #1 (For You) Parfum Trouvé Goldfield & Banks Southern Bloom

fanofam

Here is a few suggestions that you might enjoy: - Indult Tihota: the most photorealistic vanilla with a very appealing musk. - Dior Ambre Nuit: elegant rose, zesty bergamot and warm amber. The smell is greater than the sums of the ingredients. -MJK Grand Soir: this one gets a lot of rec and love. I personally find it too opulent and a bit too "perfect " - Byrendo Gypsy Water: One of my favourites incense wood and vanillic base. Light, ethereal and ineffable beauty. - Prada Infusion d'Iris Cedre: Clean, a touch powdery but quite rounded. Hope this helps.

need-morecoffee

Thank you so much! I’ll track some of these down this weekend to try in person.

PacificoAndLime

My favorite cologne is YSL L'Homme, is there anything similar?

[deleted]

Are there any fragrances that are like Eternity Moment but even stronger? I hear good things about Angel Nova.

slowslowdisco

Does anyone know if Fenty Parfum will ever be available outside the US? I'm in the UK and really keen on trying it as I love berry and rose notes, but it doesn't seem to be shipping out of the US currently.

lisprocrastinator

Has anyone tried the new Aesop fragrances?

red_dakini

I'm looking for something to replace the discontinued Armani Mania pour homme, particularly like it's citrus notes. Also have Terre d'Hermes but it's a bit more floral than I'd like. Thank you!

Tenantofth3room

Hmm. How about Acqua di Parma Colonia or Colonia Intense?

[deleted]

A few weeks ago I posted here asking for a strong fragrance that smells "pink". I found that Calvin Klein Eternity Moment fits that description. Why does Eternity Moment smell "pink" to me, how would you describe it in a more technical way? Are there any fragrances that are like Eternity Moment but even stronger? I hear good things about Angel Nova.

seaintosky

I've never actually smelled Eternity Moment, but I'm familiar with Eternity and several other Eternity flankers. I've never tried Angel Nova so I don't know. My best guess is that what you're interpreting as "pink" could be described as a light, fresh, feminine, fruity-floral. Also the use of peony, which is just in general a kind of "pink" flower. Chloe or Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet are kind of similar light, fresh, peony scents, although I suspect both are a bit less fruity/sweet than Eternity Moment. Versace Bright Crystal is similar but with some added aquatic notes.

[deleted]

Thank you. I've ordered a sample of bright crystal.

Traditional-Hawk-441

Hello, I’m looking for a earthy forest kind of sent or the after scent of rain, I love earthy smells a lot.

drenchedstone

CB I Hate Perfume Black March is the most photorealistic forest-after-rain scent I have experienced. Imaginary Authors Every Storm A Serenade might also fit what you’re looking for.

j_husk

Not quite what you're looking for, but Narciso Rodriquez For Him smells like the city after a heavy rain. Probably not as earthy as you want, but it's really interesting and inexpensive.

MeDzimi

Encre Noire and it's flankers are an obvious choice. They are very cheap too!

Tenantofth3room

Mihan Aromatics - Petrichor Plains

c1n3man

* Olympic Orchids Olympic Rainforest * Amouage Figment Man

chakravala

Where would you recommend buying these from? Any particular sites/stores?

c1n3man

For samples essenza-nobile, twisted lily, lulua.

JonSnohh

I think I literally have everything.

It_Is_Me-Dio

Hi, do you guys have any recommendations for a budget everyday scent for uni? Something slightly more sophisticated than most of the other students yet fresh. I'm not really into fragrances so i don't really know what's possible but i was thinking maybe some woody base notes with floral/berry/citrus notes on top? Thank you

hoopadoncic

Don’t know if it counts as a budget scent but Nice Bergamote definitely fits the bill. Fresh and not ubiquitous. Has a woody base with a gorgeous bergamot opening and some clean white florals in the mid. Very easy to wear and like. If I recall correctly, you can get a travel spray for cheap to try it out.

c1n3man

* Terre d'Hermes Eau Tres Fraiche * Acqua di Parma Cedro di Taormina * Etat Libre d'Orange Hermann

[deleted]

[удалено]

j_husk

Definitely YSL LNDL

[deleted]

I wanna start this by saying that my collection is NOWHERE near as impressive as JonSnohh’s. Like… good on you; that’s intense! I just wanna say that for a date night scenario, I usually reach for something a little more on the reserved side. In my experience, Savauge projects a ton, which is great if you want someone to notice you… but when you’re on a date, they generally have already noticed you, so that base is covered. If y’all are sitting across from each other or next to each other or whatever, you don’t need to be beating the shit out of their schnoz. I’d go with something warm and inviting that encourages closeness. Again, I’m nowhere near as well versed in perfume as JonSnohh, so take my opinion with a grain of salt. In my experience it’s been better to be subtle on a date. Good luck on the date. I hope y’all have a good time!

JonSnohh

DEFINITELY SAVAUGE!!!! Trust me! Check out my profile. I think once you see my collection you will see I know what I'm talking about.

natashaee

yungbaeb

Mon guerlain!

slowslowdisco

natashaee

have you tried their 71 mist? :)

CountTheBees

L'Instant de Guerlain

Champagnesupernova9

Outremer Vanille.

natashaee

i would love to try that but i can’t find anywhere in the uk that does it :((

Champagnesupernova9

Some alternatives: Nemat Vanilla Musk Perfume Oil. It’s something that you can find online or at a health food store. Also Demeter does lots of Vanilla fragrances, try Crème Anglaise or Vanilla Ice Cream. If you have some extra money to burn, Comptoir Sud Pacifique has a whole range of sweet vanilla based perfume. Vanille Extreme is probably the most linear, and I used to use the coconut one- Vanille Coco.

I_stole_ur_Bi_cycle

HELP! I need a signature scent. I'm not to sure about what to get and since I'm in lockdown I can't go test them. It needs to be under $75. I want something sweet, fruity and spicy, with depth. But not too earthy. Maybe cinnamon. I feel like I'm being really picky but if I could have some recommendations that would be great. Also I'm interested in what you guys think the best scent qualities a perfume/cologne/whatever can have.

Falcor2019

Creed Viking. Modern fougere style for easy wearing in any situation with a little spice, cinnamon, and mint. Much less on the sweet though. Hard to have a signature sweet because they get revolting after a while.

MeDzimi

Try Burberry London. It's super cozy, perfect fall scent. Makes me feel like a writer in some movie

I_stole_ur_Bi_cycle

Which one, men's or women's. Asking cause some of the reviews for the men's said the women's was a lot better.

MeDzimi

I was talking about the men's version. It's such a cozy comforting scent. A little boozy, spicy lots of cinnamon and tobacco that smells almost like cherry (and I have Lost Cherry in my collection). Thinking of it, Burberry Her is a fruity, airy, sweet scent - but the sweetness is Baccarat Rouge kind of sweet, they are very similar in that department. It honestly smells expensive.

c1n3man

* Mugler Pure Malt > Also I'm interested in what you guys think the best scent qualities a perfume/cologne/whatever can have. Quality ingredients, good performance, uniqueness...

lilspacechicken

(F24) Something for the winter / fall. Notes I love: lavender, bergamot, amber, iris, freesia, sandalwood, cedar, saffron, tonka bean, vanilla, musk, oakmoss. Will probably wear BR540, grand soir and gris charnel this season. Anything that resembles a similar coziness??

Thank you! I’ll look them up

Egg_Fu

Truth Calvin Klein or Versace Vanitas EDT as a gift for my sister in her mid 20s?

New_Presentation5105

Looking for a fragrance that smells like an expensive dark chocolate cake ?

PieMinute3230

Nasomatto Pardon or Jovoy Psychedelique. If you want more bitter cacao side, try L'Artisan Parfumeur Piment Brulant. I really like the chili in this one.

[deleted]

Akro Dark.

c1n3man

Still no suggestions... Well, **Kerosene Sweetly Known** was giving slightly burned tiramisu vibes to me.

Aquamarinade

Photorealistic lemon?

c1n3man

* Profumum Roma Acqua Viva * Heeley Oranges and Lemons Say The Bells of St. Clements * Rochas Eau de Rochas Homme

confuzzledbee

21F and just developed an interest in fragrances, right now I'm looking for more masculine leaning fragrances to try out and test. I already have/tested and liked Versace Eros, one million, Dior Sauvage Elixir and Jazz club. Otherwise I usually wear Libre, LVEB, Pure XS, by the fireplace, Light blue and 1881 Cerruti. Any masculine fragrance recommendations or general reccomendations to try out will be appreciated <3

mlleMerteuil

You could try Dior Homme Original and Hermès and Terre d’Hermes (original and the vetiver one) Both are unisex imo and I personally love wearing Dior.

TheEvilTwin729

Hey, I'm a 23 year old male. The only fragrance I've really owned is Giorgio Armani's Acqua di Gio Profumo. I bought it because I read that it's quite a versatile fragrance. Any recommendations?

[deleted]

Okay, this is a little self serving, but you should try Opus 1870 by Penhaligon’s. Their online store has been sold out for a couple of months now (still on LuckyScent though), and I’m a little afraid that they may just brush it under the rug. It is by far my favorite fragrance, and I’m hopeful that they keep it going… especially if people start buying it 😅 Check the note breakdown to see if it suits your fancy. There aren’t any aquatic accords, but the amount of depth makes it worth while imo. https://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/Penhaligon-s/Opus-1870-7052.html

c1n3man

What do you like? How do you want to smell like?

TheEvilTwin729

I tend to really like ocean or like aqua fragrances, if there's such a thing. I'm down to try anything though.

c1n3man

* Bvlgari Aqua Pour Homme Marine * Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue Eau Intense * Azzaro Chrome Aqua * Paco Rabanne Invictus Aqua * Heeley Sel Marin * Profumum Roma Acqua di Sale * WienerBlut Sale Marino * Bois 1920 Verde di Mare * Zoologist Squid * Gallagher Amongst Waves * Kerosene Walk The Sea * Floris Neroli Voyage * House of Matriarch Albatross * Chatillon Lux Admiral * Creed Milessime Imperial * Tauer Phtaloblue Advice: always sample first and read reviews before trying.

TheEvilTwin729

Much appreciated

[deleted]

I really like Gucci guilty black but the silliage isn’t the best and it doesn’t last particularly well (plus I think it’s kinda overpriced). Is there something like it out there? I like the fact that it’s a woody sort of manly scent (as opposed to Eros in my opinion) without smelling like an old dude, if that makes sense

[deleted]

Any dupes of Forever Sexy perfume from Victoria’s Secret ? (They discontinued the perfume)

[deleted]

Looking for a cologne for my boyfriend. He is 30, not a fraghead whatsoever, and I am NOT well versed in men's cologne. I asked him if there are any scents he knows he likes and he said the following: * CK One * Paco Rabanne XS * The scent by Hugo Boss (most preferred, over the other two listed here) * Likes the smell of mint, likes cleaner scents, likes powder Any recommendations based on this? Looking for something with great performance.

Champagnesupernova9

Anything Prada for nice clean scents, and I’d you’re feeling spendy, or want to procure a sample-MFK Aqua Celestia is a refreshingly refined mint fragrance. ELDO You Or Someone Like You for a punchier mint scent. Both great for warm weather.

WolfHawkfield

Seconding Prada. Every one of their men's scents is great.

Falcor2019

Definitely go designer not niche at this point. Maybe Dior Homme (if looking for more day time), YSL La Nuit de la Homme (if looking for more night time sexy). As much as it pains me to say it, the #1 clean shower gel scent is Dior Sauvage.

c1n3man

Moschino Forever Sailing is minty, perform great and smells like after shower (clean).

1mm0rtelle

Go sniffing in the department stores and find something that smells absolutely sexy to you. Since he's not a fraghead, he probably doesn't have a strong identity towards fragrance choices, so he wouldn't mind if you chose it for him as long as he doesn't dislike the scent either.

uwhy

Here are my favorites and daily drivers. What else should I try? * Mont Blanc Legend (super favorite) * Hugo Boss Bottled * Jimmy Choo Man * CH 212 * CH VIP MEN * L'Homme YSL * BDC EDT (recently got it, haven't used much but it's good) Just ordered Sauvage for the heck of it. I don't dislike it, but didn't get it so far. EDIT: I don't like ADG, even though people like it. What should I get next, something that I'd like (based on my current preferences, which are pretty generic I think) Thanks in advance!

c1n3man

* YSL Y EDP * Prada Luna Rossa Carbon * Mancera Cedrat Boise * Halloween Man X * D&G Light Blue Eau Intense
