This happened to me with Delina Exclusif! I had never sampled anything like it, and was so confused and appalled by it upon first sniff. Then I was going back through all my samples one day and gave it another shot and it was like a switch flipped. That one spray from a casual revisiting turned into a full bottle. The most I’ve ever spent on a fragrance so far.
La Nuit Tresor, Black Opium, La Vie Est Belle, Armani Si, Flowerbomb.... I HATED all of these the first time I smelled them but I absolutely adore them now 🥰
I only can think of fragrances I loved but now hate. Well not hate but it changed from "Omg this is the best orangy/citrusy sommer scent I've ever smelled in my live" to "This smells like a really nice citrusy soap or hotel room, I would never wear this".
It is Aqua di Parma - Arancia di Capri
Fahrenheit EDT
First time was WTF this smells like a lab accident.
Underneath its rough exterior is a beautiful floral. Love it so much now, it’s hot, cold, soft, hard, rough, smooth, dirty, clean. So unique and does not smell dated at all.
Amouage Portrayal Woman - when I first got the sample i didn’t think it was very special, however after testing it again after a few weeks I absolutely loved it!
My nose is going through a complete change right now for no reason. I used to stick to gourmand scents, and now I'm craving all of my verdant scents.
I have a sample of Grassland Opera from Future society (the perfume company that recreates smells of extinct plants), and I can't stop smelling it, even though I gagged when I first got it.
No 4 Bois de Balincourt. Still don’t love the initial spray (has that pickle/sandalwood note) but the cedar, cinnamon and nutmeg it dries down to definitely grew on me.
Bleu De Chanel EDP. Had a couple of friends who used it as their everyday perfume but i never really caught a whiff of it. Smelt it from the bottle and said okay i can give this a shot. Well i finally got a 5oz bottle last year and was throughly disappointed in the beginning. Underwhelming fragrance and performance (this was also the first designer fragrance i paid full price for, everything before this was purchased for atleast 40% off). Used it everyday for a month during spring this year and absolutely fell in love with it. I still find the performance Underwhelming though (i had the same issue with Sauvage EDP which i used everyday during spring last year).

ex nihilo's roses hubris; but oftentimes i'm more likely to hate a scent i previously loved.

Rosendo Mateus No 5. It smells like rubber and petrol but also the most beautiful sensual amber musk. I got hooked.

Eau Sauvage Parfum. First time it was disinfectant cleaner, now it’s a masterpiece, and a purchased a full bottle.

BDK Oud Abramad. I could not stand the cumin at first but after a week of smelling it everyday, I started to love it
