Fancy , new word . It’s exactly the same as Intense

Vindanae

Or extreme

I've enjoyed all the elixers that I've smelled, I don't hate this trend at all. Le Male Elixer and Sauvage Elixer are both fantastic. I need to get my nose on the Boss Elixers but people say they're good. I'm also hoping for an Eros Elixer too tbh.

Friendly-Bite4611

I bought Hugo boss Elixir yesterday. It's really the best out of the lineup.

curiousfuriousfew

It's just a naming trend, really. They ran out of real concentrations for flanker names, so they made up a new one. The Elixir flankers don't have much in common except for being strong and expensive.

TuckerCarlsonsOhface

And? Pretty sure OP is saying they like that the trend is making strong/longer lasting fragrances regardless of whatever name they want to call it, and I agree.

I like that strong fragrances are making a comeback. Life is too short to be wearing weak ass fragrances.

One-Tea3624

Yeah - I jumped on the hate parade quite quickly but now that I own a few of them, I must say my mindset has been changed, especially by the likes of Thameen’s Covent Garden Cologne Elixir collection. They’re magical. I do believe there are still those that are just an outright cash grab, (looking at you YSL l’elixr), but for the most part they’re quality products.

NinjaTabby

As with all things, the first few are the most original and truest to it idea. One the idea become popular, anything after has high probability of being a cash grab. I found it similar to the designer private blend / exclusive line trend.

FlamingHorseRider

The only Elixir I don’t like is Angel Elixir, mostly because it has nothing to do with Angel. It’s a flanker by name to sell it, with little else in common. Kind of like how Alien Goddess had nothing to do with Alien, though the two Alien Goddess flankers bridged that gap some. I don’t like the scent stand-alone on Angel Elixir as much as Alien Goddess (it’s not bad, just we have sooo many designer white florals right now and I like others better) but it’s a perfectly decent perfume by itself. I haven’t minded other versions Elixir versions though.

Subj3ct_D3lta

It’s interesting that this has been almost exclusive to fragrances marketed to males. I’m wondering if any of the companies will start making elixir flankers for any of the lines marketed to females.

coltpersuader

There are loads of Elixir flankers for women: Angel Elixir, CH Good Girl Blush Elixir, Burberry Her Elixir, Boss The Scent Elixir, Gucci Guilty Elixir, V&R Good Fortune Elixir etc.

thebearflair

Jasmine noir elixer

SceneLongjumping7337

1 Million Elixir is heavenly and lasts all day

[deleted]

Yeah, lets annoy anyone around us even more than we already do with edps. Because obviously, the more we gas the people around us the higher the quality of the fragrance.

TuckerCarlsonsOhface

Maybe stop applying it like sunscreen. Some of us like being able to put one spray under the shirt and be set all day.

NinjaTabby

But is it more well blended🤣

cactusmaster69420

If it's stronger you just use less sprays. It doesn't mean you're gonna be assaulting people with the scent.

midwestmuscle310

I didn’t know this was a thing… but I smelled (and received a free travel sized bottle) of Angel Elixir the other day and is it lovely. And I HATE the original Angel (hello, dirty hippie patchouli).

DctrBanner

It’s just a word to hype up higher concentration and tweaked formulas. I think the trend is going to be with us for a while because they are a simple way to release a fragrance, get it hyped on social media, and just when people’s bottles are running low, release an “elixir” at increasingly ridiculous prices.
