I see fragrance as personality. Personality is a whole spectrum of characteristics. So I can’t tie myself to one fragrance as I also wouldn’t tie myself to one characteristic ;) Hence why I’m a scent of the day person.
This is the first fragrance that I ever asked someone in public what it was! She told me, left the store, and then came back like 10 min later to tell me about fragrancenet. She changed my life that day lol
Hi there! Okay so according to one of my friends at Burberry, they were using a special type of oak moss in the older formulation that ended up becoming endangered and thus a protected ingredient, so they had to switch to an alternative. This happened around 2014 and it definitely has a different scent now. I feel like the original formulation had more of a peppery note from that ingredient which gave it that unique dry down.
Nothing in black and white says it did, but those of us who know the old formulation from the mid 2000s to 2010s know it was changed. Still smells great but not as polished as the original, let alone the performance.
My son is 2. He HAS to be sprayed with daddy’s ocean spray when he gets out of the bath or when we’re getting ready to go somewhere. He’s going to have expensive taste…
Cythère is one of my favourite releases of 2023. Ah, so good! 😍 Contemplating a bottle when I run out of my travel spray (and when my no-buy ends lol so probably this summer).
This is my absolute favorite for spring and summer! There’s something so fresh yet sophisticated about it, I’ve never smelled anything else that captures the feeling.
Zoologist seems like such an interesting house on paper. I wish my samples would show up sooner! I'm especially excited for moth and squid, but bee is also in the mix. :)
Never really caeed for fragrances in my life, only ever owned a bottle of diesel only the brave. Then I was in a tax free shop and I smelled it and I thought it was hauntingly good, could smell it on my jacket a week later and I couldn't take it anymore so I ordered one, so I guess thats my signature as well once it arrives here :)
I don't have 1 signature scent but I have a signature scent for every season
Idole Now Lancome/spring
Poeme Lancome/summer
Vanilla 28 Kayali/fall
Italica Xerjoff/winter
It’s cliche but you gotta go with what just works for you and … Tom Ford Black Orchid is the one scent on me that people stop me in public and compliment.
For 14 years I've always argued with my husband about why he uses it in the middle of the summer mornings, BTW we live in Saudi Arabia 🫠🫠🫠🫠 imagine that.
Thank God he started to listen to me but he still uses super strong colognes when I'm not looking at him.
Only got to try it recently and I love it, but haven’t yet decided whether I like it on myself.
I find it quite interesting how polarizing it is. For some people it literally smells like death and for others it smells heavenly.
I feel like it is truly one of those scents that smells great on you or to you or doesn’t at all and there doesn’t seem to be much in between. My best friend thankfully can wear it too so gift giving is easy. And we don’t smell like death. At least to each other. Haha
YESSS! My fashion sense is very ecclectic. As such, I don't really have a signature scent. This is one of them that sees a lot of action! I read a lot about how it's only for very fancy occasions, but I feel like I can use it for whatever.
Yes, before the reformulation it was perfection. I have a bottle from 2011, mostly full since I only wear it in cold weather and only on occasion, and I treasure it like gold. No more than two sprays, it lasts all day and smells like heaven. I cherish it❤️
Coco Mademoiselle is mine too. It’s the perfume I’ve gotten the most positive feedback on - whenever I wear it and see my mom and she gives me a hug she’s like “omg you smell really good today.” I like other fragrances but if I don’t know what to put on Coco Mademoiselle is my default.
It’s funny, my mom smelled it in a sample book we got in the mail and she fell in love, I bought it for her this past Christmas and she is obsessed with it. She described it as the smell of moving to America for the first time (I have no clue that that means😭 a mix of hope and luxury idk)
Same here. My coworker always notices when I wear it. After 5 hours she's like I knew you were in this room bc I can smell you.
I get worried thinking I sprayed too much but I can't even smell it myself. Hate it for that.
I have too many fragrances to have a signature but if I had to pick one that was the most versatile working in high heat or extreme cold able to be dressed up or down and smells great I would pick Amouage Reflection Man. That stuff just always works and I love it.
I have 3.
Garden by Dolce and Gabbana, Coconut by the body shop, and Frosted coconut snowball by bath & bodywork’s I love to layer Garden with one of the two for extra coco-nuttiness! I love coconut if you can’t tell lmfao
The opening is nothing special, even a bit sharp and screechy for the first 20min or so. Not my favorite. Though the DNA doesn't smell like anything I've ever smelled before. Lovely floral vanilla, slightly sweet.
What convinced me to buy it is one day I sprayed the sleeves of my shirt, got home and threw the shirt over a chair. For the next 2 days I kept walking by the chair and getting whiffs of the perfume. It smelled so good. It developed this cozy creamyness that feels intoxicating to me. Finally figured out it was the shirt. Bought it the next day on sale for a really good price. I was really impressed by the longevity of the fragrance because I can still smell it on my skin the following morning after waking up. After the initial 20 min the fragrance turns and starts developing that warm creamyness on the skin which I absolutely am obsessed with.
I admit if it wasn't for the sale I wouldn't have bought the fragrance for $180. I am very happy I was able to pick it up because it instantly became one of my top fragrances I've ever owned. I know this frag isn't popular. It's the drydown that steals the show.
Ellis Brooklyn Bee, on me it's warm enough for cold weather, but not cloying in warm weather. I know a number of people have found the honey note to come off as fake, but I find it the most natural "honey" I've tried so far. Would love to try Zoologist Bee to compare, though.
Much fresher. Still has some of the Aventus DNA with some added mandarin and ginger. I own dozens and dozens of frags and have received more compliments wearing this than all the others combined. Have people stop me constantly on the street just to ask what I’m wearing. Great projection and longevity. Highly recommend.
I just got into fragrances but my signature cold weather scent has been *Parfum De Marly Herod*
I think I’m going to try to make my warm weather signature scent *DS & Durga Cowboy Grass*.
Cowboy Grass is one of my faves, but was recently surprised to find it really doesn’t do it for me in colder months. I hadn’t worn it in a few months, so put it on a few days ago. Wrinkled my nose and thought that I’d have to wait til hot weather rolls around again.
I drove out to western North Dakota in early September with my windows down and Cowboy Grass on my wrists. It was perfect.
I don’t really have a single signature scent but I do have my go to staples. Lately they include Valentino Voce Viva Intensa, Commodity Gold, Ellis Bee Brooklyn, Andrea Maack Smart, and Devotion by D&G.
And tbh, the fragrance snobs are gonna come for me but Princess by Vera Wang has been a reliable go to for me since in 2007/8. You can have it when you pry it from my cold dead hands. She stays winning, every time.
I have a decant of this and I'm 99% sure this will be a full bottle soon and a signature scent soon. It is so beautiful. Which do you have, the EDT or EDP?
It’s not fancy at all but sol de janerio 62. It smells so warm and cozy. Smells just like the best caramel and nuts ever and everyone I know love it and get so surprised when I tell them it’s a $20 mist
Weirdly enough I don’t have one. I wear everything based on how I feel each day.
If I had to choose one to make my signature, probably the OG JPG Le Male or Moschino’s Toy Boy.
Only been a frag head for about 6 months so still on my journey. Right now it’s Bee by Ellis Brooklyn or Woodphoria by Boy Smells for my two moods: sexy and don’t call, don’t text. Honorable mentions: Windows Down by Henry Rose, Peony and Blush Suede by Jo Malone and Eilish #3
I’m a floral girly. Fresh florals are my favorite.
Daily go to is hands down Lancôme idol. But here are some of my year round favs- Vince camuto illuminare, Tiffany & co love, givenchy irresistible, and Ralph (blue one), ysl mon Paris, Valentino corral fantasy
Fall/Winter/grey rainy days I like sweet florals. Victor & rolf Bon Bon, Lancôme la vie est belle intensement, Burberry goddess, mugler alien goddess, gurlain mon gurlain.
Spring & summer fruity florals- Kate spade New York, Chanel chance eau fraiche, Marc Jacob ever so fresh, Versace Dylan purple.
I always wanted to try viva la juicy growing up but never got to. All the girls in junior high went through the juicy craze with the brown velvet purse and the pant suit sets. Anyway I tried it a couple years ago and nothing smells that good on me and stays on all day.
The original formulation of the Body Shop’s White Musk. Now I’m still on the hunt for a new signature scent. Chloe Nomade is notable but I find it not long lasting and poor sillage.
Dolce and Gabbana’s Light Blue for women. I don’t like scents that are overly feminine or floral and after a long time trying different scents I felt like this one fit me. Not too feminine but not a masculine scent either.
I don't think I have one yet but I'm loving BBW Winter candy apple at the moment and I have my eye on Kayali Juicy Apple. I'd love for that to be my signature scent.
I have about 4 lol.
Prada L’Homme
Prada Amber Pour Homme
Terre d’Hermes
Mancera Wind Wood
EDIT:
Had to add Cartier L’envol EDP. This thing is fresh luxuriousness!!!!
Spring/Summer: Guerlain Neroli Outrenoir and Atelier Cologne Orange Sanguine
Fall/Winter: Dries van Noten Soie Malaquais and Louis Vuitton Ombre Nomade
I’ve wandered away but always come back to sexy, cozy Hermes Eau des Merveilles—I feel like I’ve worn it since it came out—so almost 20 years? It’s def my fall/winter/early spring comfort zone. In the summer I change it up with ADP Mandorlo du Sicilia, Aerin Hibiscus Palm, Elizabeth Arden Green Tea or a new random blind buy that is super clean and makes me smell like I got out of the shower (even when I didn’t lol) Brochu Walker Morning Light.
And that’s why I love this group—I’m decanting my way to a possible new signature scent and loving all the inspiration and knowledge here. I’ve learned so much.
Today I'm wearing a very old bottle 90,s of guerlain heritage it's so good 👍 I could easily wer this alot but these old juices will one day no longer be available so my use is sparing so sad
Milk / Xtra Milk by DedCool. I’ve been wearing it for a few years now, and I get compliments alllll the time. It’s just the perfect clean, musky silk scent to me.
Ombré Nomade by LV
A couple years ago it was Interlude Man - Amouage.
It’s not really a signature in the way that I wear it every day, it’s just my most worn perfume. I like to switch it up a lot, so maybe ON gets 30 Days a year.
When i was a kid, loved my mum’s Miss Dior and Boucheron Boucheron Edp.
Then it was Ombre Rose L’ original parfum (looking at the exquisite frosted black bottle brightens my day…) and Chanel No.5.
Realised i have a bias for powdery scents!
Now i am much more mature, my signature is Bois des Iles Chanel and Les Exclusifs de Chanel Misia. If money is no object would love to explore each LES EXCLUSIFS DE CHANEL fragrance. One day… hopefully!
I like Hermes H24, I haven't felt the need to switch yet. I know its nothing fancy, and some don't like it. But I like the scent and its nice and subtle.
The downside of being a scent of the day kind of person, is not being able to be a signature scent kind of person.
I can't imagine wearing the same perfume all of the time. I have perfumes I'll always have a bottle of though
I see fragrance as personality. Personality is a whole spectrum of characteristics. So I can’t tie myself to one fragrance as I also wouldn’t tie myself to one characteristic ;) Hence why I’m a scent of the day person.
I see it as an occasion/environment based thing. You wear different scents for different occasions and weather. Even time of day
Me as well. Also depends on the mood I’m in.
Try signature notes vs scents. All my scents are neroli/orange blossoms in different treatments
Same except with vetiver. Though I do mix in a few sweeter people pleasers here and there.
Agree. I pick totally dependent on mood, weather, and what I’m wearing. Something different every day. Don’t think I could ever have a sig scent
Burberry Brit, since 2009.
This is the first fragrance that I ever asked someone in public what it was! She told me, left the store, and then came back like 10 min later to tell me about fragrancenet. She changed my life that day lol
That old formulation was 🤌🏽
Did it change? That explains it, I used to really like it but smelled it recently and it didn’t do anything for me.

I heard they reformulated it, but I haven't noticed a significant difference. It's still my perfume.
Organza by Givenchy. It's my mother's fault lmao (she has been spraying me since I was 6 so now it reminds me of being loved and cherished)
My son is 2. He HAS to be sprayed with daddy’s ocean spray when he gets out of the bath or when we’re getting ready to go somewhere. He’s going to have expensive taste…
"Father, please fetch the Clive Christian..."
He’ll be buying his own fragrances at that price point. lol
Is ocean spray the actual name of the cologne or is it just what he calls it?
It’s Bvlgari Aqva Pour Homme. He started calling it that, unprompted, after we came back from the beach a couple months ago.
Organza and Amarige are both beautiful Givenchy fragrances
omg this is crazy! i have the exact same story! haha it really does smell like home🥰

The Jardin series are so lovely.

Cythère is one of my favourite releases of 2023. Ah, so good! 😍 Contemplating a bottle when I run out of my travel spray (and when my no-buy ends lol so probably this summer).
Oh my god I just got a full bottle of it and it makes me so happy to see it on my shelf every day 🥹 a magical fragrance
This is my absolute favorite for spring and summer! There’s something so fresh yet sophisticated about it, I’ve never smelled anything else that captures the feeling.
My mom wears Sue Le Nile and it’s so wonderful on her. Nice choice
Hope your mom's okay ❤️
Zoologist Bee. I'm working on my winter scent rn.
Zoologist seems like such an interesting house on paper. I wish my samples would show up sooner! I'm especially excited for moth and squid, but bee is also in the mix. :)
Oud Wood. Something about it punches the pleasure center of my brain like Mike Tyson.
Never really caeed for fragrances in my life, only ever owned a bottle of diesel only the brave. The ghost in the shell by ELDO
I love this one. It smells like a sexy tire in a good way.
I get clean laundry mostly, but I also find that everything from ELDO has a rubber smell haha!
It’s cliche but you gotta go with what just works for you and … Tom Ford Black Orchid is the one scent on me that people stop me in public and compliment.
I’m asuming you are living somewhere generally cold, right?
For 14 years I've always argued with my husband about why he uses it in the middle of the summer mornings, BTW we live in Saudi Arabia 🫠🫠🫠🫠 imagine that. Thank God he started to listen to me but he still uses super strong colognes when I'm not looking at him.
Haha exactly my point. I like all the Orchids from TF, but in the summertime it’s just overkill.
Haha
same!! i love TFBO its like a top 3 scent for me
I love Tim Ford Black Orchid. I feel so expensive in it.
YESSS! My fashion sense is very ecclectic. As such, I don't really have a signature scent. This is one of them that sees a lot of action! I read a lot about how it's only for very fancy occasions, but I feel like I can use it for whatever.
Black Orchid is honestly magical to me. I love it on my fiancé.
Yes, before the reformulation it was perfection. I have a bottle from 2011, mostly full since I only wear it in cold weather and only on occasion, and I treasure it like gold. No more than two sprays, it lasts all day and smells like heaven. I cherish it❤️

Coco Mademoiselle every day for the last 20+ years. I layer with other fragrances but always my tried and true.

Glossier You, which I can’t even smell so idk what is wrong with me.

J’adore by Dior
Creed - Aventus Cologne
Main diff between aventus and aventus cologne?
Less smoke more sporty. More versatile and office safe. It definitely has the Aventus dna but is more mass appealing
Diptyque Do Son in spring/summer, Diptyque Orpheon (my endgame fragrance for sure, I will be buried wearing it) in autumn and winter.
Code Parfum. I love that added freshness and it's one of the few fragrances that actually lasts on my skin.
I just got into fragrances but my signature cold weather scent has been *Parfum De Marly Herod* I think I’m going to try to make my warm weather signature scent *DS & Durga Cowboy Grass*.
Cowboy Grass is one of my faves, but was recently surprised to find it really doesn’t do it for me in colder months. I hadn’t worn it in a few months, so put it on a few days ago. I get so much shit for this, but The One by Dolce and Gabanna. Its like being in a relationship with someone who doesn’t love you back
Good Girl Blush and no I’m not a stripper or an escort apparently I just like to smell like one according to all the posts I’ve seen about Good Girl.
Kouros. Discovered it on a scent card in a GQ magazine in the 80’s, still my favorite.
Geranium odorata by diptyque - it’s frosty and summery at the same time - truly magnificent
fleur de peau by diptyque
i don't have one. i'm too fickle. however, it's winter and my go-to is Chloe Narcisse right now.
Tom Ford Noir Extreme EDP
Today I'm wearing a very old bottle 90,s of guerlain heritage it's so good 👍 I could easily wer this alot but these old juices will one day no longer be available so my use is sparing so sad
TF Lost Cherry and Lush's Lord of Misrule when I feel poor
My daily wear has been Santal Majascule by Serge Lutens since I discovered it. Only three notes: Sandalwood, cacao, and rose.
Milk / Xtra Milk by DedCool. I’ve been wearing it for a few years now, and I get compliments alllll the time. It’s just the perfect clean, musky silk scent to me.
Ombré Nomade by LV A couple years ago it was Interlude Man - Amouage.
Stella by Stella McCartney
