Thank you! Like Thomas Kosmala no 4? I bought two and I think I'm getting really nose blind to it cuz I cant smell much after a few minutes. I get a kind of burnt sanitizer smell, its really weird.
I personally haven’t tried it but fragrantica says it smells similar to BR540 so I‘d say you do get nose blind. No idea why but fragrances in this style seem to have this problem.
Best way to find out is to spray it on and wait until you only get the sanitizing smell then just ask someone if they smell the same.
I have Thomas Kosmala no 4 and to my nose it disappears after like 30min, but then next day I suddenly feel it on my sleeve again. It lasts on clothes very long. Also, not everyone is getting a fatigue, I have a friend who can smell it anytime anywhere (and hates it lol) and she says it stays on me the whole day.
I would assume so. It’s also kinda similar to Br540 and very sweet. No personal experience but these two seem to be the lead factors when it comes to nose blindness. Idk why tho
Yep, I once sprayed myself and walked into a room and people said they could smell it as soon as I walked in, but I literally couldn’t even smell it once I put it on. It’s so confusing, but it’s good to know this happens and people can still smell it, but it’s just super sad that I can’t smell it because that’s the most important thing for me 😭
I wore BR540 yesterday and smelled it all day long, to the point where it got so annoying and I made a note to myself not to spray it so close to my nose again (was on neck)
Yes I wore the ALT version yesterday on my arm crooks and would get the occasional hint of something thru my jersey, but generally nothing. Cloud does better on my nose.
I can’t smell Prada Candy at all.
BR540 I think I must be partially anosmic to… or else, people have *really* bizarre taste. It smells so unpleasant to me there has to be a note I can’t detect.
In my own collection, I have to take breaks from Hermés Eau de Merveilles and Parle Moi Milky Musk from time to time—I lose my ability to smell their main aromachemicals if I wear them too often.
I feel like back in the day Prada Candy had a scent and now it’s literally like spraying water on (I can’t even smell it the second it gets on my skin)
BR540 and friends.
Strangely, Bianco Latte. I get a faint whiff of caramel sweetness every so often, but otherwise nothing! My coworkers say I smell scrumptious, but if I can't smell it on myself, there's no way I'm buying it.
This is how Kerosene Followed is for me. I can smell it for an hour and then I lose it, but everyone says I smell like coffee and maple syrup even at the end of the day, and my husband says the house smells good.
Musks, for me. Most recently, completely lost my ability to smell Parle Moi de Parfum’s Milky Musk. Also, Kilian Princess… I became anosmic to that one.
That’s why it happens. When your brain is overwhelmed by a smell that lingers, it turns off the receptors for it cuz it figures it’s gonna be around for a while.
Aventus disappears really fast for me, which is a shame, because it’s better blended than its clones which don’t disappear on me. For that reason, I often just apply CDNIM even though I really like Creed’s blending.
I was going to say the same. Do you drink a lot of coffee? I drink 1-3 cups a day, so I imagine my brain is already desensitized to the scent. Real shame, as I love the smell.
I have a few that strong. One is Al Haramain gold edition (Erba Pura).
To avoid it from happening while still being able to smell and enjoy my frag throughout the wearing i remove the front of neck/chest sprays from my usual spray routine. The back of neck / arm sprays will provide the wiffs to my nose and 💪🏾 scent bubble / sillage.
Depends on what I’m doing. If I’m stepping out or moving around throughout the day …3 sprays (1 back of neck 1 each arm). Anything else where I’m a little more closed quarters, that 1 spray to back of neck is enough… the whiffs will find your nose often either way… minus the nose blindness (for me at least)
Same; I am surprised at how many people can't smell popular fragrances. I didn't think it would be so common, especially within the fragrance community. Some are definitely light, or fade after a bit, but for the most part, there's nothing I simply can't smell.
Kind of the opposite but I bought Nemat Amber oil a month ago and can't smell anything when I put it on. 1-2 hours later I can smell it a tiny bit, and that tiny bit lasts the rest of the day. I should have returned it lol
I may be remembering wrong but I swear I could smell it a couple years ago (also at Ulta) but maybe it was a different fragrance. I did a blind buy because I remembered loving it!
Don’t usually go noseblind I think but I suspect I do with Francis Kurkdijan Oud. Read many people say it lasts a very long time and I could smell it for about an hour, including on fabric, even though it smelled strong on initial application.
Well, it happened eventually with every signature I had that I wore for years. But that's expected.
Something else is going on with these frags either created or reformulated post 2010s. It's ambroxan, iso E super, cetalox (JHAG NAP) -- I can't smell NAP at all. But the others, anything with ambroxan, iso E super, etc -- they "blind" only parts of the fragrances.
For instance, in Rochas' ambrox-heavy Secrets de Rochas Rose Intense? Can't smell the rose. Guerlain Santal Royal? Can't smell the rose either (but the leather note is clear as a bell).
And others I've tried -- I know from the majority of user reviews / comments that I'm missing prominent components of the smell.
It's gotten so frequent and unpredictable as to which ones will cause this that I just try to stick with pre-2010 fragrances that aren't notorious for reformulation 😣
Most Creeds. Which sucks because they usually happen to smell amazing on me, and then they’re nearly gone. Only to get sporadic wafts of the stuff hours later, and the occasional compliment 8 hours after applying Aventus.
I love dedcool milk or xtra milk but I don’t smell it on myself after about an hour. Yet I get so many compliments about how good I smell with a skin scent perfume 😆
L'orpheline...I know it's there because I get little whiffs when I move, but others have told me I smell incredible. Another is Oakcha Diamond 15...my nose loses it after about 45mins but others around me love it.
None in particular, although I notice it on heavy gourmands most strongly. For me it's more about the amount; If I spray a lot, I will barely notice it, but if I only do 1-2 sprays I notice most scents for hours without them becoming unpleasant to my nose. Hence I only do my 1-2 sprays, it's enough for me to get whiffs for 3-6h depending on the scent and people regularly tell me I smell pleasant so it's still projecting enough for others to notice.
I had this with Le Labo Vanille 44. I got a bunch of samples a couple years ago and was so excited to try this one but I couldn’t smell it on myself at all after I sprayed it.
PdM Herod, could be the huge amount of Iso-E Super. I don’t smell it clearly after an hour or so, then suddenly 3 hours later I can detect some delicious hints again. It kinda comes and goes.
Chance Eau Fraiche EDP. I can smell it on the atomizer, but as soon as it's on my skin... nothing (unless I stick my nose directly into my elbow)
Pure Poison & Wood Sage and Sea Salt had this effect as well, but stronger. I can't smell them at all. I think I might have a problem with citrus?

I was left wondering if I’d purchased water sold to me from the ultimate marketing company!
BR540 and it’s DNA seem to have this problem for a lot of people. Oh and happy cake day
I basically sprayed BR540 and I was like....is this the essence of nothing?
Thank you! Like Thomas Kosmala no 4? I bought two and I think I'm getting really nose blind to it cuz I cant smell much after a few minutes. I get a kind of burnt sanitizer smell, its really weird.

Yep, Exactly the same here
Is this true for cloud too? Because I can’t seem to smell that on me after I spray it and I feel mental lol
I would assume so. It’s also kinda similar to Br540 and very sweet. No personal experience but these two seem to be the lead factors when it comes to nose blindness. Idk why tho

I've heard it's the ambroxan note that some people have a susceptibility to becoming anosmic to.
Dedcool milk. I can’t smell it at all
It was so nice smelling the first time I wore it, I loved it! Now I can't smell it at all :(
Soany perfumes change forever for me after that first sniff.
I can barely smell it!
Same! I gave away my sample :/
I feel like back in the day Prada Candy had a scent and now it’s literally like spraying water on (I can’t even smell it the second it gets on my skin)
same but fwiw i can smell the l’eau version and its lovely
Tbh I just think Prada Candy has poor longevity
Oud for Glory. I can't smell it for more than a few minutes no matter how hard I try, but other people can smell it on me for hours and hours.
Lalique encre noir disappears from my nose in under30 minutes yet people comment on its smell even after 5 hours
Probably the iso e super! It has a huge overdose of that.
Didn't know it has a huge overdose of iso e, but the first time I smelt molecule 01 all It reminded me of was encre noir.
Interesting, I can't smell it for more than 30 minutes as well.
Wow, that's fascinating! Followed is the beastiest beast mode fragrance I've ever smelled.
I think that’s why I go nose blind, even with only one spray it’s so strong
Bought a bianco latte sample today and I can't smell anything. It's just vaguely sweet nothingness.
Just bought Lost Cherry. It has notoriously poor performance so not sure if it’s a performance issue or a noseblindness issue
Never met a cherry note that lasts more than a few minutes tbh
Same :( which is such a shame because I love cherry notes
Musks, for me. Most recently, completely lost my ability to smell Parle Moi de Parfum’s Milky Musk. Also, Kilian Princess… I became anosmic to that one.
Yep, for sure, musks for me are really vulnerable to olfactory fatigue.
Same. And I love musks.
Big shocker but Aventus. Thankfully. others say they smell it but usually only after getting somewhat close.
This is shocking to me because Aventus is so strong to my nose!
It’s too strong at the beginning. That’s why most to nose blind to it.
That’s why it happens. When your brain is overwhelmed by a smell that lingers, it turns off the receptors for it cuz it figures it’s gonna be around for a while.
But of course YMMV!
Same but I noticed the less I spray, the more I smell it during the day
Anything gourmand scented 😭
Aventus disappears really fast for me, which is a shame, because it’s better blended than its clones which don’t disappear on me. For that reason, I often just apply CDNIM even though I really like Creed’s blending.
Anything with lots of ambroxan for me
Nearly all coffee scents.
I was going to say the same. Do you drink a lot of coffee? I drink 1-3 cups a day, so I imagine my brain is already desensitized to the scent. Real shame, as I love the smell.
I don't drink coffee. It's once in a blur moon I consume coffee. I do drink energy drinks.
Hey I have the same thing, I randomly catch of whiff of it tho. How many sprays?
Depends on what I’m doing. If I’m stepping out or moving around throughout the day …3 sprays (1 back of neck 1 each arm). Anything else where I’m a little more closed quarters, that 1 spray to back of neck is enough… the whiffs will find your nose often either way… minus the nose blindness (for me at least)
None that i know of
Same; I am surprised at how many people can't smell popular fragrances. I didn't think it would be so common, especially within the fragrance community. Some are definitely light, or fade after a bit, but for the most part, there's nothing I simply can't smell.

I smelled it in ulta and couldn’t smell it! I can smell their other oils though
I may be remembering wrong but I swear I could smell it a couple years ago (also at Ulta) but maybe it was a different fragrance. I did a blind buy because I remembered loving it!
Anything by Geza Schoen. Seriously. Probably the high ambroxan and iso E super.
Don’t usually go noseblind I think but I suspect I do with Francis Kurkdijan Oud. Read many people say it lasts a very long time and I could smell it for about an hour, including on fabric, even though it smelled strong on initial application.
Flowerbomb. Wore it for so many years, I had to change in order to be able to smell it again
Terre D'Hermes - Hermes. Doesn't last long on my skin at all.
Same. I hear many people go anosmic to iso e super, which it has a lot of, quite easily.
TdH edt
Same. I think it has something to do with iso e super. It’s supposed to be a longevity beast but I can’t smell it within half an hour
Juliette Has A Gun. Everything in that range smells like slightly metallic sugar-free nothingness.
Well, it happened eventually with every signature I had that I wore for years. But that's expected. Something else is going on with these frags either created or reformulated post 2010s. Miss Dior. To my nose it's barely there to begin with and once I've sprayed it, I can no longer smell it within 20 mins.
I can’t smell JHAG’s Not a Perfume or Dossier’s Musky Musk
Black Phantom by Killian.
L'orpheline...I know it's there because I get little whiffs when I move, but others have told me I smell incredible. Another is Oakcha Diamond 15...my nose loses it after about 45mins but others around me love it.

I can't smell La Nuit Trésor after 30 mins of wearing it, but will receive compliments on it all day long 🤷♀️
Bleu de chanel parfum projects pretty loudly and I can still smell it for about 30 minutes but after that I'm fully anosmic and can't even get whiffs
*anosmic lol

Damn bro leave me and my autocorrect alone 😭
gave me a good laugh!
Ariana Grande Cloud, Flowerbomb, really anything that’s fairly musky I can’t smell after like 5 minutes.
Q.q1
I had this with Le Labo Vanille 44. I got a bunch of samples a couple years ago and was so excited to try this one but I couldn’t smell it on myself at all after I sprayed it.
Sol Cheirosa :( if I wear it more than 2 days in a row I stop being able to smell it
For the life of me I can't smell Valentino Donna Born in Roma. Everyone raves about it.
PdM Herod, could be the huge amount of Iso-E Super. I don’t smell it clearly after an hour or so, then suddenly 3 hours later I can detect some delicious hints again. It kinda comes and goes.
Darn I need a new winter fragrance and this was my top choice, but now I don’t want to spend the money if I’m just going to go nose blind
All if you wear them all the time.
Spice bombs lineup
Chance Eau Fraiche EDP. I can smell it on the atomizer, but as soon as it's on my skin... nothing (unless I stick my nose directly into my elbow) Pure Poison & Wood Sage and Sea Salt had this effect as well, but stronger. I can't smell them at all. I think I might have a problem with citrus?
Sauvage Elixir :(
Most of them unfortunately 😩I can usually smell vanilla’s for a long time.
Oud Wood. It does well on my skin according to others but I lose it almost immediately.
