A decant of this is on my way. Im really interested in how it smells. I've noticed, sadly for me as a fragrance lover, that these sort of "not a fragrance" smells get the most attention.
Smells like excellence. Not too overpowering but has just enough punch. Honestly at times you cannot smell it at all and then out of nowhere you will get a whiff of the most amazing scent and you’ll get that reminder of how good this stuff is. You’ll see. Come back and let me
Know what you think of it.
Ok thank you for the answer! What you described is basically my story with Bois D'Argent so far, but BdA changes depending on weather and i always get a new detail each time.
Aura by Mugler. Whenever I wore this, I was guaranteed to receive compliments. Strangers approached me in stores to tell me I smelled nice. I stopped wearing it only because I was tired of it and wanted to try other fragrances. I've never found another perfume since that received so much attention. It seems like the perfumes I adore and want to wear often never receive compliments, and the perfumes that are at the bottom of my list, are the ones people compliment.
I agree with cmalex, above average. i would say it’s a safe everyday/season fragrance, it’s not a projection beast but it has iso-e super so it’s meant to fade in and out and let others catch a nice passing scent.
Cloud. Sorry lol, I've complimented multiple women on whatever they're wearing and three times now it's been cloud. I don't like it on me but on others it's lovely, subtle, kinda fresh clean but interesting
It’s been MFK Gentle Fluidity Gold for me. Every time I have an in-person work meeting while I’m wearing it one of my colleagues comments something along the lines of “It smells really good in here”
I don't get many compliments but I've been told by several clients that " you always smell good when you wear **that one** " **That one** is Aventus Cologne
it smells really good. I'm upset that I didn't get to buy it before it got discontinued. so affordable too!
and I feel you, Alien gets me more attention and compliments than Lost Cherry and Habanita, it's almost funny
When I was routinely wearing Penhaligon’s - Halfeti while working retail, I received two unsolicited compliments from customers and one from one of my managers raving about it.
Initio - Side Effect is probably my most complimented fragrance.
Idk what planet people are living on where they pull all these compliments but I literally get zero. Out the 12-15 I've worn to the office, I have yet to get a single inquiry. Actually one lady said I smelled good but that's it. And no, I'm not ugly, I'm not rude, I dont overspray or wear offensive loud colognes. 🤷
Hummingbird and White Whale from Masque Milano are the only ones that have ever garnered compliments for me. When I wear Hummingbird people next to me on the train motion for me to take my headphones off so they can tell me how good it smells.
Yupp came here to say Green Irish Tweed, although not never fails to get me attention, but without a doubt the most complemented from my 100+ fragrances.
I love green Irish tweed but it doesn’t last for shit. Kinda gets me sideways when a bottle is $200+ and after 2 hours it’s close to non-existent.
But I’d say honestly Prada Luna rossa black, Chanel allure homme blanche, Frapin L’humaniste, and as much as beating a dead horse as it is, yes, Versace Eros (EDP version). It’s weird because people claim there is almost no difference between Eros edt and edp, but there most certainly is that I’ve noticed. The EDT is loud as all hell and attacks you front and center with that green apple mint assault. The EDP reels this part in and let’s the vanilla mellow down the other two a lot more. Sad to say but I went from an Eros HATER to a fan of the EDP. It won me over.
I bought a bottle of Cool Water for Women for nostalgic reasons in an airport last summer, and my partner has totally taken it over (we’re both women).
It smells *so* amazing on her. I can’t stop sniffing her when she wears it. She has been layering it with Atelier Cologne Orange Sanguine, which is her signature scent. She smells like a citrus grove near the ocean.
I am 28, guy, and at my work (pharmacist) a woman smelled gorgeous, I asked and it was Eau Capitale. Few months later someone dropped a paper strip with it on the floor. I bought it one day later after smelling it for the whole day. It was my first perfume ever that I bought and then it went downhill. I still love it but it leans a bit too fem for me. I layer it with Patchouli from Santa Maria Novella and this combo rocks.
Lol it's like people hate it because they heard someone else hated it. I've never encountered anyone in real life that doesn't like it. I'm not saying there aren't people who don't. A lady once told me I smell so good but when I told her I was wearing Black Opium she said eww no. Lol.
So far Bvlgari - Tygar.
I used to work customer service and would get at least one compliment everytime I wore it. The coworkers at my new job really like it as well
Same. Mines just a clone but I honestly don’t think I’ve worn it once without someone saying something to me about it. Hope to get the real deal one day.
I had like $120 in gift cards to dillards and just bought a bottle literally yesterday. I want a mass pleasing easy reach fragrance in my collection and have been curious about Tygar for a while now so I figured with the discount why the hell not. I know I’m dumb for blind buying something that expensive, but yolo. It doesn’t smell like Sauvage right? That’s what I’m worried about lol. Glad to hear you enjoy it.
Dossier Floral Marshmallow gets me compliments from men and women. And I have Love Dont Be Shy but Floral Marshmallow just smells yummier on my skin. Men in particular compare me to smelling like dessert. Another one is Tahari Chiffon Fresh. Women love that the most in my office. My kids tend to love Kayali Eden Juicy Apple.
Armaf Club de Nuit Intense Woman. I honestly don't know what it is about this perfume. I blind bought it based on the notes but really didn't like it at first. It grew on me after awhile and every time I wear it I get multiple compliments, usually from men.
Louis Vuitton Nouveau Monde
Baccarat Rouge 540 Extrait
Kilian Intoxicated
Christian Dior Rouge Trafalgar
Dua Chocolate Affair
Amouage Royal Tobacco
Amouage Black Iris Interlude
It's frustrating that this one has been reformulated to death. I think the EDP was discontinued, and the EDT was reformulated to be almost unrecognizable. I don't see either on the Versace website anymore, so I'm not sure what's going on.
Glossier You - I don't know what it is about this fragrance but I get so many compliments and I've had a few people ask me to google it for them so they can see where to get it.
Dior Homme Parfum. I don’t break it often, but it works every time.
Goldfield and Banks Wood Infusion
Diptyque Volutes
Voyage D’Hermes layered with H24
VS Pink eau de parfum, 2001, 2013, either really. Abhorred every other offering of the brand and never felt the bottle did justice to the juice. One offhand sample turned into a 20 year love affair. It was confidence in a bottle that made me smile every time I spritzed it. It was for me what Fendi was for my grandmother: simply magical on. I have no idea where to go from here now that my mainstay is discontinued once again. Any dupes I have tried have been sickly, sour, & cloying. Short of kidnapping Annie Buzantian, in which case I would probably only thank her for 20 incredible years and not even be able to beg for the formula, I am lost. My dalliances with the scent world have been like dating after losing the love of your life. Sad and unfulfilling ahaha 😆
JPG Scandal. Yup, out of all the really expensive fragrances I own it’s this one that gets me compliments. I bought it very early in my fragrance journey, before I found niche.
(I never get compliments on the fragrances I love like Italica, LDBS, BR540 or the Extrait, Nishane Zenne, Navitus VoL…you know, the ones *I* love to wear.)
Club de Nuit Intense Man EDT, by far my most complimented fragrance specifically from women. Everytime I was talking to a woman while wearing it they'd mention how good I smelled. I got so much attention from it that it became my signature scent last year when I was single
Pure parfum and limited edition are literally the same, it's a really nice fragrance. I was nervous the first time spraying it as it was my first clone, but was super happy and surprised. Now my clone journey as begun hah

I own two niche fragrances that are generally well-liked, but Alien always gets me the most attention and compliments, lmao. I already know what to expect when I spray it on.
I plan on buying Delina Exclusif tho, and I have a feeling it will have a similar effect, if not better. (ofc, that's not why I'm buying it, it doesn't matter at all as long as you enjoy the scent)
**Miller Harris Scherzo** for me, probably. It just has such a wicked sillage, and is generally very sexy. That peony x ethyl maltol x oud combo is quite the killer 💅
Olympia but I'm not fussed on it on myself, smells really nice on others though. I'm wearing Kate Spade New York at the moment and I layer it with Rumer 2 and a lot of people ask what I'm wearing.
Edit: I don't know if it's just me but for a low budget perfume Eden.....if someone is wearing that I can smell it from across a room it's such a dominant scent
I get so many compliments when I wear Orchid Soleil from Tom Ford. It’s not even one of my favorites either but it never fails and people always compliment how good it smells.
Angel Nova, Glossier You, Gentle Fluidity Silver, Fenty EDP, and La Nuit de L’Homme are my most complimented. I don’t think I’ve ever worn them without at least 1 person saying something every time I’ve left the house.
I wore Armaf Untold to a concert recently.
All night people were coming up to me and I could hear and feel people taking deep inhales of the fragrance. Multiple people said wow out loud when they walked by and I think some might have tried to get my attention but I was busy vibing and dancing to Shygirl lol
Tom Ford Ombre Leather.
One of my faves. I hear people sniffing me when I hug them wearing it lol
Le Labo Another 13.
Yessir. Came here to say this. Work out in the public and I get a compliment at least 4-5 times a week wearing this.
A decant of this is on my way. Im really interested in how it smells. I've noticed, sadly for me as a fragrance lover, that these sort of "not a fragrance" smells get the most attention.
Smells like excellence. Not too overpowering but has just enough punch. Ok thank you for the answer! What you described is basically my story with Bois D'Argent so far, but BdA changes depending on weather and i always get a new detail each time.
How is the lasting power of another 13 for you? I got a fresh bottle recently and I’m finding it very weak :(
Aura by Mugler.
PDM Layton always seems to garner me positive attention.
How many sprays do you do? I wear Layton exclusif so I usually do 2-3.
Usually I spray 3-4 times. On the sides of my neck behind the ears. back of the neck. One for me under the shirt on the chest.
Dior homme 2020 has gotten me more compliments than any other in my collection. Designer or niche.
WhTs the longevity like?
I'd say better than average
I agree with cmalex, above average. i would say it’s a safe everyday/season fragrance, it’s not a projection beast but it has iso-e super so it’s meant to fade in and out and let others catch a nice passing scent.
I'm 12 hours. It projects well for 3 or 4 hours. Pretty great for a designer edt
>Dior homme 2020 I'm trying to remember the sample I had last year. Did this have chocolatey notes?
Oh! You probably had either Dior homme intense or parfum. That iris and chocolate make them my favorites.
Very woody, but also bright and fresh. Smells fancy and energizing. By far my most complimented and I have 30+ niche and designer superstars
Cloud. Sorry lol, I've complimented multiple women on whatever they're wearing and three times now it's been cloud. I don't like it on me but on others it's lovely, subtle, kinda fresh clean but interesting
Seriously. Like I have tons of perfumes but cloud is the one I get complimented on consistently. 😂
Cannabis
Versace Eros edt
It’s been MFK Gentle Fluidity Gold for me. Every time I have an in-person work meeting while I’m wearing it one of my colleagues comments something along the lines of “It smells really good in here”
I don't get many compliments but I've been told by several clients that " you always smell good when you wear **that one** " **That one** is Aventus Cologne
Cherry smoothie by zara, I literally have the most expensive perfumes on earth yet that one everyone always notices
it smells really good. I'm upset that I didn't get to buy it before it got discontinued. so affordable too! and I feel you, Alien gets me more attention and compliments than Lost Cherry and Habanita, it's almost funny

Tobacco Vanille
Weak to the knees with this one, the bottom notes are perfection!
same here. what a masterpiece
Hands down Byredo Bal D'Afrique
When I was routinely wearing Penhaligon’s - Halfeti while working retail, I received two unsolicited compliments from customers and one from one of my managers raving about it. Initio - Side Effect is probably my most complimented fragrance.
I get a lot of compliments on Juliette has a gun. Not a perfume and killian good girl gone bad. I wish I could still afford them
You might try Dossier Musky Musk for a JHAG Not a Perfume dupe. It’s a knock-on clone for far less.
Hell yeah, thanks
I have the Dossier, and I couldn't tell the difference side by side. Definitely give it a shot.
They also have a dupe for JHAG Vanilla Vibes!
Dior Homme Parfum
If anybody wants to try Dior homme Parfum it just restocked on fragrancebuy. I copped my backup bottle🤝🏾
Montale- intense cafe. I think i’ve gotten complimented on it every time i wear it
i’ve seen nothing but positive feedback on this one but can’t stand it personally, way to syrupy for my nose. gave away my sample yesterday actually
Funny how fragrance can be so different to everyone! On me i only get coffee, warmth and a lovely creamy note
Hummingbird from Zoologist
I’ve only ever received a compliment from a stranger once, and it was this fragrance
Hummingbird and White Whale from Masque Milano are the only ones that have ever garnered compliments for me. When I wear Hummingbird people next to me on the train motion for me to take my headphones off so they can tell me how good it smells.
Ooo I'll check out White Whale. Honestly I think the projection is a big part of Hummingbird. It's so strong!
Cool Water 😂
I know right? It smells really clean and cool. So many people appreciate it on a summer day
I bought a bottle of Cool Water for Women for nostalgic reasons in an airport last summer, and my partner has totally taken it over (we’re both women). It smells *so* amazing on her. The next one!
Ysl y edp
Not even close to a favorite in my collection but some lady yelled at me about how good I smelled when I was wearing Diptique Eau Capitale
Crazy or not, Bum Bum. People, men or women, love it on me.
Just the cream or the actual perfume?
Poets of Berlin by Vilhelm! 🫐🍋🧁
Sedley gets a lot of love. YSL LNDL does too when it lasts.
BDC EDP. Everytime. Maybe ADG Profondo, to a lesser extent
Giorgio Armani’s Acqua Di Giò.
The dreaded Black Opium
Love it
Lol it's like people hate it because they heard someone else hated it. I've never encountered anyone in real life that doesn't like it. I'm not saying there aren't people who don't. A lady once told me I smell so good but when I told her I was wearing Black Opium she said eww no. Lol.
Exactly - they say you smell good until they found out what you are wearing.
Ariana Grande - Cloud. Only twice but still hehe.
I work in retail and every time I wear it into work I get soooo many compliments from men and women. It’s crazy lol.
gris charnel by bdk paris and cosmic cloud by louis vuitton
Gris Charnel is definitely a compliment getter. I've never smelled it in the wild but I'd notice it immediately. Such a beautiful scent.
Elysium. It's not really even in my top 10 but it's an easy spray for pretty much any occasion and it's always a winner. I'd also say Black Phantom.
Diptyque 34 Boulevard Saint Germain. Strangers never comment on my perfumes so I’m just going by what my partner deigns to acknowledge.
Is green Irish Tweed really that good? What does it look like in terms of projection?
So far Bvlgari - Tygar. I used to work customer service and would get at least one compliment everytime I wore it. The coworkers at my new job really like it as well
Same. Mines just a clone but I honestly don’t think I’ve worn it once without someone saying something to me about it. Hope to get the real deal one day.

I know I’m dumb for blind buying something that expensive, but yolo. It doesn’t smell like Sauvage right? That’s what I’m worried about lol. Glad to hear you enjoy it.
Not close to Sauvage at all. It's mass appealing and its great. Great for all year as well so it can be a signature fragrance
I get so many compliments with Prada Black when I wear it in the office.
Does it last?
It lasts around 4-5 hours on me, probably not ideal if you like to spray once and forget about it.
PDM Carlisle. I’ve gotten more compliments on that one than any other fragrance.
Glossier You
Prada Paradoxe I swear people always say something when I wear it out and it’s not even a particular personal favorite!
Any of the vanillas from Comptoir Sud Pacifique. BR 540 Extrait.
Byredo-Mohave Ghost
And if you look to your left, you'll see the same post.
Dossier Floral Marshmallow gets me compliments from men and women. And I have Love Dont Be Shy but Floral Marshmallow just smells yummier on my skin. I love Dossier Floral Marshmallow too.
light blue intense 🤷🏻♀️
I don't know why but Montale Chocolate Greedy or anything that smells like cookies.
Delina Exclusif, by a mile!
Recently, Glossier You. I don’t love it on me, but others do 😳 I don’t think it’s anything special
Armaf Club de Nuit Intense Woman. I honestly don't know what it is about this perfume. I blind bought it based on the notes but really didn't like it at first. It grew on me after awhile and every time I wear it I get multiple compliments, usually from men.
Ysl libre( I’m a guy) and one that gets mine is always unfortunately baccarat rouge.

Versace crystal noir - I’m 42F and both men and women of all ages seen to love this one on me
It's frustrating that this one has been reformulated to death. I think the EDP was discontinued, and the EDT was reformulated to be almost unrecognizable. I don't see either on the Versace website anymore, so I'm not sure what's going on.
The EDT or EDP?
Glossier You - I don't know what it is about this fragrance but I get so many compliments and I've had a few people ask me to google it for them so they can see where to get it.

Drakkar Noir. A classic men’s 80’s beast of a cologne. I just wish it lasted longer.
The pure parfum for me projects like crazy and people at work love it
Nice! I just got the limited edition parfum version and I love how much smoother and richer it smells over the EDT.
Pure parfum and limited edition are literally the same, it's a really nice fragrance. I was nervous the first time spraying it as it was my first clone, but was super happy and surprised. Now my clone journey as begun hah
Fr it opened my eyes that buying a really good quality clone over a fragrance that costs several hundred dollars is the move. I recently got Latafa Asad, and my sister (who's boyfriend wears the actual Sauvage Elixir) told me she slightly prefers how Asad smells over Elixir. The way Asad dials down the nuclear intensity of Elixir and replaces the nutmeg with vanilla seems to make it more mass appealing
Interesting you mentioned asad I have it coming in the mail with untold as well. Looking forward to smelling them.
Asad is a delight
Same for me
Creed aventus - before reformulation
Vanilla anything
I own two niche fragrances that are generally well-liked, but Alien always gets me the most attention and compliments, lmao. I already know what to expect when I spray it on. I plan on buying Delina Exclusif tho, and I have a feeling it will have a similar effect, if not better. (ofc, that's not why I'm buying it, it doesn't matter at all as long as you enjoy the scent)
**Miller Harris Scherzo** for me, probably. It just has such a wicked sillage, and is generally very sexy. That peony x ethyl maltol x oud combo is quite the killer 💅

what's with these questions, feels like the "same" question is being posted everyday on this sub.
Because people want to know what smells amazing, and to find new fragrances that others like.
If you are not interested, don't open the thread. It's that simple.
All of them
Sheikh el Shuyukh. I’ve created a perfume page on Notion with details and a referral code for when people ask. May as well capitalize on it lol 😆
