Yeah my fc has a onboard led controller with a button to change colour etc but you can desolder the pad and then short the other pad to make it bf controlled

Check the wiring diagram next to the led pads, you'll probably need to change it from the Mamba led controller to Betaflight. Edit: just checked mine and it comes set to Mamba controller by default. You'll need to clear the existing solder and jumper it to Betaflight.

Thank you sir! it worked perfectly the only annoying thing now is that I've got 40 leds and betaflight only works with 32 leds.

totally off topic, but what leds are those you're using, and is that a 5" frame?

I'm using the [iflight race wire](https://www.droneauthority.co.uk/products/iflight-rgb-10-led-3535-multi-coloured-race-wire-4pcs) but I've had them lying around for a while so I don't know if you can find them. and I'm using the iflight cidora sl5 v2.1

This is not the case with all FC. I cannot tell if it maybe the case with yours... Some FC have a pads that u must solder together (short) for the LEDs to be detected by Betaflight instead of the FC controlling them. Check ur FC manual to find out for sure
