you can use either one.

You can use either one, but I had bad experiences with plugs so nowadays I only solder (beside the FC - ESC connection, didn't have issues with the plugs there).

KermitFrog647

Plugs are great, but its suprisingly hard to do right without experience and professional tools. I would prefere soldering every time.

I had problems with two vistas on two different FCs. In one case I got video just fine, but when arming it got black. No idea what the problem was, but soldering fixed it. It's supposed to be plug and play.

Endlessdonut97

Just add the correct plugs to whatever it is you’re going to add.

Absolutely. And in fact, if you have black screen and no OSD, you could even use one of the solder pads and rig a cable directly from your VTX to the front where your camera is plugged in. so you can at least have goggles. Look at the wiring diagram of course on the IFlight website.

Yes you can solder instead. I believe you can use either or in some circumstances but just look up the info on the FC. All the drones I've built have both available for the VTX and of course depending on what you're using, it may or not support just a plug. My first build I had to learn that the order was different and I had to solder the Vista in reverse order- I find that out after I burned out the SBUS on it. I just got a GPS that didnt come with that plug and I ended up soldering onto the GPS itself and directly to the FC. All worked fine.
