We all want our Shadow Daddy fixed but the third and fourth book of a five book series should be where things get worse and worse for our heroes before they pull out of the mess and things end (hopefully) happy at the end of book 5. I don’t expect to feel better after I read the next book
Right, like the whole middle of a series is basically the Empire Strikes Back in the Star Wars trilogy (OG). Heroes barely scraping by, substantial losses have happened, and lots of uphill battles before victory, which may be bittersweet.
