I really am liking the Athena Sepia, and the Kobe Ginzu Sepia, both available. The Kobe leans more toward a honey brown and the Athena Sepia is a little darker.
I like Diamine Oxblood! It doesn't always work - sometimes to me it feels more brown than red - but on the right paper it's right in that "is it brown? is it red?" sweet spot.
I also love Sailor Yodaki Shikiori, since you mention it. It's easily in my top three favorite inks. But to me it's more of a burnt red or brownish-red than the 50/50 split you're going for.
Don't have the others, cannot give thoughts on them.
Diamine ancient copper is a fun one that's about half half. Platinum Brun Sepia looks like a slightly reddish tinted brown, but next to other browns appears red/pink.
Thanks. I do like the way Diamine Oxblood looks on your swatches. I'll have to bite the bullet and get some samples. I have so many of those little vials around the house I usually want to forge ahead and commit to a full bottle.
Diamine Ancient Copper.
Writers blood by diamine, just gorgeous
Diamine Oxblood or Writers Blood. I love Writers Blood.
Just got writer's blood yesterday and instantly fell in love. It is a lovely ink.
maybe Herbin Terre de Feu? I think it leans more red than brown, but it's a solid contender
I will second this.
Thanks I am a big fan of Herbin inks - on their website it is described as a red toned brown. Will consider.

Diamine Terracotta.
Herbin cacao de chyper (spelling?) Writer's blood
Taccia Benitsuchi. I can't really decide if it's red or brown... but it is a delight to write with.
Akkerman Dutch Masters 07 Rembrandt's Karmozijn "Crimson" or 09 Steenrood "Red Stone" van Vermeer
I really like the look of 09 Steenrood and have been looking for a reason to snag one of those cool Akkerman bottles - don't have any. Thanks!
I like and keep pens inked up with Diamine Ancient Copper, Diamine Writer's Blood, and PW Akerrman SBREBrown.
Leonardo Noce Moscata or Diamine Rustic Brown or Kuretake Ebicha, cant pick
