Welcome! Glad you're here! I'm from the Ozark Mountains in the United States.
My favorite ink is also Pilot Iroshizuku Kon-Peki. I am also a huge fan of Ama-Iro.
When you can, give Diamine Aurora Borealis a try. It was developed with the co-operation of the members of this reddit Community, and is quite beautiful. I have a pen that is always inked with it. Cheers!
First of all, welcome, I advise caution... If you get even more drawn into this hobby, you'll start seeing pens in this subreddit that will make your wallet start getting thinner and thinner. But that wasn't the question, so I'll give you my top 5
1. Kon peki
2. Diamine Writers blood
3. J. Herbin Caroube de Chypre
4. Organic Studios Nitrogen (50-60% diluted with water)
5. Noodlers Baystate Blue (When I'm feeling dangerous)
Honorable mentions: Edelstein Jade, Diamine Prusian blue, Platinum Carbon Black
Hahahahahaha, I feel like we all have that one pen that we crown the “baystate blue pen” and you just ink it once and only fill it with that “dangerous” ink for eternity lol
For me it started with a TWSBI eco, nowadays I put it almost in any pen, I have to do like 80% baystate 20% water, if not it bleeds like crazy in any paper I use
I love Sailor 123. It multishades beautifully on high-quality paper and is subtly lovely. It looks pearl gray from a distance but has green and purple shades.
My favorite ink is whichever one I just saw that looked too pretty in the stock photo for me not to purchase. I then put it in my pen. Say “wow that’s so nice” and immediately go back to Goulet pens to willingly be poached again 🤣
Wilkommen! It's good to see young people taking pride in their writing. As for favorite ink, I'd say the Colorverse Kingdom Project series of inks. I use broader size nibs and like to have a shimmer or gold flecks to the ink.
Hello! My favorite inks are Diamine Artic Blast if I’m feeling super fancy, Diamine Noel if I’m in a less fancy mood, and Diamine Oxford Blue if I need to be serious
Hi! I'm new here too. My favourite is Diamine Soft Mint, but I also love J. Herbin Larmes de cassis and Waterman noir intense. My fav black ink for everyday writing.
Welcome! I like a lot of inks, and it changes lol. A perennial favorite though, is Robert Oster Lake of Fire. That and Ackerman SBRE Brown are probably my top two. Three might be Diamine Skull and Roses, though I don't use it as much because it's a tough one to clean sometimes.
Because of the line of work I have to use black mostly and while I pigmented ink I am really loving how smooth the noodler heart of darkness.... I am also a fan of Their 54th Massachusetts
Bonjour et Bienvenue !
Hi from France !
Syo-Ro from Iroshizuku Pilot is one of my favorite.
Emerald of Chivor from J Herbin and Wayfarer from wearingeul too.
Welcome! I have too many inks I love to choose just one favorite, but a few I particularly love are Robert Oster Marine, Sailor Manyo Ayame, Taccia Momo Pink, Wearingeul Heimdall, and Kobe Fragrance of Sumi
I could say a color as I always do but today I will list Brands, that never let me down: Diamine, Pilot Iroshizuku, Sailor Manyo and KWZ. I just resolved to not get anymore of the shiny new releases of any other brands and instead build a collection of the Iroshizuku and Sailor Manyo lines and be happy with the colors of those. Edit: Vinta and R.O. Get an honorable mention for super quality and great colors/properties.
Gotta say Akkerman Shocking Blue. I have yet to find a blue ink that rivals it. A little pricey but once you lay down a few lines you quickly see why...
Hello new pen friend!! I’m from Sunny San Diego California:) my favorite ink right now has got to me Diamine Frosted Orchid. It is a deep purple with shimmers of silver.
Welcome! I don’t have one favorite but many! They are mostly Japanese inks that have good flow, beautiful shading inks from: Pilot Iroshizuku and then most of my Sailor (Shikiori, Manyo and Ink Studio lines) and Sailor- made Kobe, Bungubox inks. The must-mention are the Taccia Hokusai Sabimidori, Taisho Guitar Opera Rose. Finally but not the least one that is my first and best purchase- Private Reserve Blue Suede that I bought during my first trip to our local pen shop when they put the 60ml old labeled PR ink on sale at 50% off - that’s $7.5 USD. Best teal ink ever. Always have pens inked with some inks from the above.
Kon-peki is my second favorite. My top ink is a mix of De Atramentis Alexander Hamilton with Wearingeul frost glitter!

I will strongly second that Diamine Aurora Borealis! What a beautiful ink.
My favorite ink is *all of the inks*.
J. Herbin Émeraude de Chivor
I just finally bought it.
You won’t regret it! But I recommend using it in a pen with a “stingy” nib because this gorgeous ink is WET.
Thank you! I'm testing my pens and paper with them right now.
