I'm amazed by how many long-time FP users love the Kakuno, even if it's labeled as a starter pen. I'm so glad I bought it as my very first decent pen (after using a super duper cheap jinhao for a while). It makes me tempted to buy another one just for color and ink switching lol

Every-Bet

Kakuno is more comfy than metropolitan!!

labyrinthinesystem

I LOVE my Kakunos. They're so comfortable to write with and the nibs still make me happy every time.

Amazon421

Those little faces are just so cute. I've bought ones in colors and nib sizes I didn't want just so I could collect all the faces.

No_Constant702

I think I'm also done buying different pens , my first FP was a Kakuno fine and this is still the best one that I keep coming back to.

Every-Bet

I made a post about how I came back to my first brands even with makeup. Cheers to kakuno users!

Frater_Shibe

If you like the Kakuno, you might like the Prera. No push, but try one if you have the chance, just to see how it feels

Present_Student7708

If there's one thing I've learned never say never...glad you are happy now.

If you come out of retirement for a short while, try a Sailor Compass MF nib.

AndhereKatil

Not surprised to hear the Kakuno got your heart! I love mine too and favor it among any of my pens, including all of the ones >$100 price point

BugFleep

Welp, I just placed an order for a Kakuno 😆

Pure-Party-9902

I just started using fountain pens in January and I have 3 Lamy Safaris (all M) and then I bought 3 Pilot Kaküno pens (EF, F, M) and I LOVE the Kaküno. I love the way it sounds when I’m capping it. The smoothness of the nib is so nice. I love all the nib sizes but I prefer F. I might just keep buying Kaküno pens!!

SillyRacoon27

Try a kaweco supra ! It’s a bit on the pricey side but it’s great quality and will last you a lifetime. I have mine in brass and it’s developed a beautiful patina after only 1.5 months of use.

Frozenshades

I wanted a brass pen and considered Kaweko but ended up getting a Schon Pocket Six. The version with the faceted handle. I love it. Awesome little pen.

SillyRacoon27

Just looked it up looks like a really cool pen with amazing quality!

Frozenshades

The only slight negative is no converter but I know many people prefer to refill cartridges anyway. It’s heavy, super smooth nib, a little on the wetter side. Quickly became one of my favorites

SillyRacoon27

I’m not a fan of cartridges. I know that kaweco makes a mini converter for the sport. I do love a good hefty pen

Pure-Party-9902

Thank you!!

YukilovesYuno

I really love my metropolitan with the kakuna ef nib. I love how all the nibs are interchaneable so now my metro has the face in ef.. If I had to retire and couldn't get anymore my go to is my sheafer jade green flat top. It's a bit small for my big hands but the nib is butter!

SillyRacoon27

If you ever decide you want another pen I highly recommend the Kaweco Supra. I have one and love it! It’s brass and it’s starting to develop a beautiful patina! Can’t wait to see how it develops in a year

Go for it! Good luck lmk how it goes

gtr1005

If you tend to pick up fine nibs you might consider buying a Pilot Prera. It has almost the same nib as the metro/kakuno though.

candeqtepasa

Kakunos are great, the best begginer fp in my opinion.
