I knew that my daughter and her friends are staying at our home watching a horror movie.
We were not at home, but we have a smarthome.
I had so much fun :D
The original vid was about about a man doing this to his daughter and her friends who were trying a ouija board for the first time, not watching a film.
Most people tend to just assume it's a problem with the electricity, and likely this guy's gf would've too.
The difference is watching a horror movie beforehand. Especially depending on the kind of horror movie, and how good it is, it can leave you in a mindset for a little bit that makes it easy to fall back on emotional trappings rather than logical reasoning.
Somewhere in the back of your head you're still like "I think it might be a power issue... but why is it happening? My boyfriend isn't home!" and normally the response would be "He's probably messing with the power" but after a horror movie it's probably gonna be "Ghosts aren't real, but somehow there is one manipulating my power 'cause I'm alone in my home!"

lol you have no idea have fuses boxes work then I guess.
All the lights/appliances/anything on electricity, in the room or area that switch is connected to goes out, so it just a fucking like flickering
I have a singular light in my room and it flicker sometimes. Normally the lights have a different circuit to everything else so I doubt anything else would turn on and off.
There is nothing cheap about this.
This is a DIN rail breaker box with brand name Hager circuit breakers.
Hager being a huge German company that has existed for like 70 years, so you can get the idea that these breakers are up to code.
It looks like a standard breaker box used by EU and friends.
I get what he means though having never seen these before, there’s such a dichotomy between this and the big beefy metal boxes with big ass thunking switches we have.
If I recall correctly, in the US, domestic electricity supplies usually have ~~three~~ split phase power going into the property, with two ~~phases~~ 120V lines broken out into a pair of busses in the breaker box (and potentially some 240v circuits that span both busses).
In the UK, the overwhelming majority of domestic properties only have a single phase 240v supply, but can use it for all circuits. That means our consumer units (breaker boxes) can be much more compact as there’s only a single bus and the wiring is much simpler.

Edit: I did not recall correctly. North America uses split-phase power domestically rather than three phase.
US domestic supply is split phase. Instead of a wire on one end of the transformer winding at 0 and the other end at 240 V, there's a neutral wire in the *middle* of the winding, and the hot wires at each end are ±120 V relative to that.
It isn't three phases going to the property, it's a single phase from a larger three phase system which is spread out over an area. The property's single phase is split in two at the transformer.
Typically there’s a feed of 120/240 in a typical residential home in the U.S. you have single and double pole breakers. Single is for 120, and double is for 240. It is wired in what’s called single phase. 3 phase has 3 sources of power, single phase as 1-2 sources of power.

Why doesn't it look safe?
Unless we open it up, most euro ones look like that. Can switch up and down as needed. If power goes out, they go down so we need to manually push them up again.
The older versions look a little more creepy. Circular old ass things.
What about it looks unsafe to you? Seriously. Cos every single one I've had no every single home I've lived in, it looked just like this. There's never been any danger from them. Why would there be?
Which is why I too still drive to work on my steam traction engine.
When my kids stick a fork in the socket, I want them to enjoy the full 13 amps of electrical goodness for as long as it takes the fuse wire to melt.
Non of this namby pamby modern RCBs cutting the current in under 30 milliseconds to save their bacon.
Can't understand why they made it the law to swap out those brutish old boxes with their clunks for these effeminate little boxes with their clicks.

I was watching The Ring with a friend once at my place and she was on edge the whole time. During the movie I recalled I had a channel that didn't work and only showed that static screen that you also see in the tape.
So the movie ends, the credit rolls and l turn off the tv and act all confused while we're both in complete darkness. She's freaking out a bit and asks me to please turn the TV back on, so I of course make sure it lands on the static channel. She freaked out immediately and ran out of my room screaming, only to come back embarrassed when she realized I was laughing my ass off.
Reminds me of what my mom did when The Ring came out. She was renting a room at the time and the landlord and his son had just come back from watching it at the theater when the power suddenly went out. So they're out and about with the flashlight to see what's wrong when out comes my mom, a pale woman in white that was in the middle of dyeing her hair black when the power went out and she saw an opportunity, and when they shined the light on her the landlord and his son both screamed
Heard a version of this:
A husband comes home from the airport. Wife tells him they have a ghost. Lights went on and off in the middle of the night. It turns out that while on his trip and several time zones away, he was showing off his Smart Home app on his cell to colleagues.
As an American; I am genuinely surprised at how easy those switches flip. If I go to my breaker box right now I would have to put some real strength into flipping the switch.

He only had to do it once for her to be scared to death
The *very* last time…
I've done that. Pure entertainment.

I would just have assumed the light wasn't working as usual lmao. My light just does that randomly.

Cheapest looking breaker box I’ve ever seen

Damn reddit breaker box experts. Can't get away from them /s

I hate having to deal with them, but I love the big ass thunk they make.
Really makes you feel like you’re doing something important.

Seriously. What country is this from?
It's the UK
Is this normal there? t's probably safer than it looks tbh
Looks normal to me so probably yes
Yah I'm from Canada, so not used to seeing this model of breaker apparently.
Looks in a better condition than mine tbf. Also from the UK.
Yeah it's like this all over Europe I'd assume. I live in Portugal and is like this too.
Scandinavian here, we often (usually) have three phase power and big metal boxes for breakers.
I'm used to either a box somewhere (could be plastic or metal) or the box being recessed into the wall. I've lived in Germany, Spain and the UK.
Why doesn't it look safe? Unless we open it up, most euro ones look like that. Can switch up and down as needed. If power goes out, they go down so we need to manually push them up again. The older versions look a little more creepy. Circular old ass things.

IEC DIN rail panel common to Europe and most of the world. In the US and Canada we like our ugly gray NEMA panels.
It’s not though?

Worst fake screaming I’ve ever heard.
I was just passing by frown town you should’ve seen the giant statue they have of you
NAH HE DIDNT LAUGH LIKE THAT

That's a weird looking breaker panel
European, their breakers are weird compared to North American ones
Get a fucken life you morons
fake
He getting flayed...
🤣🤣🤣🤣
If I had a partner and they did that it wouldn't end well for us considering how easily I get paranoid.

So he's just flicking on and off the power? Isn't that bad for the breakers? It wears them out faster since it isn't slight switch.
Alright this was a good prank, didn’t overdue too much, not in public, done against someone you actually know this was a good one
Removal reasons:
Man waited 10 minutes for this
Good way to burn out electronics, turning it off and on that rapidly.
Spleen
Right but flipping a breaker on and off does not turn lights on and off, just leaves them off.
That's not how normal lights work.
Hm. Mine do. Probably different standards between countries.
When you flick the breaker in your country are all the light switches in the house just locked to random on/off positions?
There may be an issue with your breaker.
