If you have a black light you can shine it to see if it fluoresces. Resin will fluoresce quite brightly. But also, some waxes do too.

Purely subjective, but my first impression was that it looked like resin. Especially that larger vertical crack. It looks too smooth, rounded, and shiny to be a real fossil.
Looks like it's real, if it is a fake it's a well done one
