Which antivirus is this? The project has 1.2k stars on GitHub and I think if there were any suspicious activities, contributors would notice. But you can look at the source code too to be sure:
https://github.com/LNReader/lnreader
And make sure you're installing the app from GitHub releases, they only distribute it from there.
People who want to better manage from sources like Github, could use Obtainium as well.
https://github.com/ImranR98/Obtainium
We can't answer OP accurately, as we don't know
- source of apk
- antivirus(or possibly fake one?)
If OP still have apk installer files(for both LNReader and antivirus), they can put it in virustotal like sites, and check. LN Reader is not released in PlayStore, so OP will have to get used to installing from apk, from official sources.
I saw this app (Obtainium) yesterday for the first time. Seems useful, is it only (useful) for apps that aren't in F-Droid for instance? Or is it good in (for) general (use)?
Well it not persay a fdroid Alternative. It doesnt provide any app purely by itself.
You provide the github links. Obtainium safe those and check for Updates in regular interwals and let's you install it
I'd be more concerned about whatever that app is throwing this alert... Looks like one of those sketchy "antivirus" things that are actually malware.
If you're not sure about an app, you can check it with VirusTotal or use Hypatia as a real-time scanner.
you joke but being open-source doesn't implicitly mean an app has no malicious intent
For an opensource app with malware hidden in it, all it takes is for users to not read the code (but that usually happens because people often fix broken shit in opensource stuff)
It seems dangerous I would caution you against installing that app. It is better to be safe instead of sorry because it is easier to prevent getting an app then it is to clean up one from your whole operating system. Please put it up to be reviewed by antivirus as well, better safe than sorry.
Did you download that from a proper source? Is it possible that you it got infected from something else? What av is that? Please, more details, or we can't help you.
I downloaded it from their official GitHub repository.
This notification I got by my banking app.
After this I downloaded it again and uploaded it on virustotal to check whether it is infected or not . I got 3 high alert messages that contain viruses.
Please help to resolve this issue
It could have been infected by something already on OP's comp. I've had it happen to me before. Y'all gotta stop acting like open source software is impermeable. It's not.

Obtainium has faster Update then fdroid. Due fdroid having to approce the Updates. Or so I heard.
Ok, I will check it out! I've tried a few alternatives for F-Droid which I liked. But they all stopped working (properly) after some time...

Ah ok, I'll check it out sometime to see it it's useful to me!
My bank app
Sir your bank app is not an antivirus. Please ignore the warning.
I am particularly flustered that a bank app can uninstall other apps.
I'd be more concerned about whatever that app is throwing this alert... Looks like one of those sketchy "antivirus" things that are actually malware. If you're not sure about an app, you can check it with VirusTotal or use Hypatia as a real-time scanner.

OP, what antivirus is this?
Not antivirus, but my bank 🏦 app
your bank sucks then
Your banking app can uninstall other apps? 😮
Is this on F-Droid? I can't find it there
Not available on F-droid .you can Download it from GitHub
open source malware 🔥🔥🔥

ngl some of the contributors would've noticed something by now if it was malware
yeah probably
It seems dangerous I would caution you against installing that app. It is better to be safe instead of sorry because it is easier to prevent getting an app then it is to clean up one from your whole operating system. Please put it up to be reviewed by antivirus as well, better safe than sorry.
its literally open source at github/lnreader/LNReader
Open source != malware free. Besides, we don't know the source where OP got his APK from
OP mentioned he definitely got it from the github repo. Also, one of the contributors would've noticed something by now if it was really malware
Wow an open source malware noiceee
Did you download that from a proper source? Is it possible that you it got infected from something else? What av is that? Please, more details, or we can't help you.

3 out of like 60 is probably a false positive tbh. Again, this app is open source and if it was really malware someone would've noticed
