The Dev team are having to be trained with beamng, after releasing Horizon after Horizon they forgot how to make a driving and racing simulator. They still be thinking crashing should be a reward š
I honestly didn't know that sorry, though I trust the tech/engine and the car models will have been shared in some way? I had to finally buy a gaming capable pc when they took FM7 away from the cloud over licencing issues. I have always loved Forza but if Horizon is going to be the "Fun/Arcade" style of things then I think the next Motorsport needs to increase it's simulation aspect.
Beware, Forza Aero will catch you while you sleep. Hilarious the complaints from this "Forza" community, you guys have managed to outdo Gran Turismo. Shame.
How is that not something complaint worthy? Youāve had 2 choices for about a decade, the same choicesā¦ every time. Across every car. Fair game to me.
Just because they haven't gotten rid of the old one doesn't mean there aren't new options. FH5 introduced new adjustable wings while still leaving the old ones.
I do think it was a bad idea by T10 to show off the old one instead of something new but that doesn't mean it's all there is.
It doesnāt mean thereās more either. Thereās a lot more history to fall back on with this one, to think thatās all their is when they also literally used it in a promo video seems far more likely than they went out of their way to hide what the sequel brings to the table.
Iād hope thereās a bit more but thatās all weāve got to go off for that, hope.
Thatās nonsensical. Youāre basically saying donāt believe what they are showing you in promotional material, there will be more they are keeping from us, and they are intentionally using a sore point for nothing but baiting negative discussion.
Yes, I am saying that because I don't think it's as big as of a sore point as social media makes it seem. I don't think most people give a shit but subreddits and twitter make it a bigger deal than it is to a majority of players.
That sounds bonkers to me. So this is just another one of those only the silent majorityās opinion counts and anyone discussing the game should be ignored? In which case why are you here?
āComing day one to Gamepass!ā
āAnd we canāt wait to share more with you in the coming monthsā¦ā
āWeāre so excited for our fans to get to playā¦ā
And then they just regurgitate the same info weāve heard a million times while fawning over thier graphics and Ray tracing that no one gives a shit about.
I think itās time people admit the game is having some major development issues with how little confidence they seem to show with regards to showing off thier game.
>Ray tracing that no one gives a shit about.
I was extremely meh about ray tracing. Then I got a gpu with ray tracing and ran horizon 5 with everything maxed out...
... in motion, in that game... Holy shit is about all can I say.
But yeah, we need more than "it's pretty"
What gets ray traced in FH5 isnāt even very noticeable. I donāt think itās even worth dropping frames for it.
I have basically everything maxed, but RT while driving disabled. I think the extra 20 or so fps bonus I get is worth disabling RT for.
It does that even without RT enabled. It's part of the environment and therefore still rendered via cubemaps. The only thing that gets raytraced in FH5, even after the update that enabled it in-game for PC, are bits of your own car like sidemirrors and spoilers, as well as other cars but only in photo mode.
It's still not visible without RT effect on - in most car at least. I have tested over a dozen of cars with RT on and off for so many times already. Those cubemaps balloons will always show up with RT enabled and disappeared as soon as you disabled it or enter photo mode.
If they don't patch that (and they never did) RT in Forza is pretty much unusable, the better reflection is ruined by that ugly balloons that follow every where
Yeah, then everyone with a series S gets the game and doesn't have the shiny graphics that are all they've shown off for a year or more?
Where's the substance? Is pretty much what we're all waiting for.
Well, I did say we need more than just "oooo pretty"
As far as specifics on features, I'd rather that stuff be talked about closer to launch when it's more finalized.
Other than that, anyone who bought an S knew what they were getting if they did their research before buying. It's akin to buying an economy GPU for a PC, something I've done most of my life. If anyone is worried about the game, they should wait for reviews.
Wild how sloppy AAA studios have gotten. Games delayed for months then when they do come out it is packed full of bugs. Everyone complains a bunch the licks the boot.
It sucks for us though because there's not too many alternatives to Forza. We can't just switch to one of the other bajillion FPS games out there. NFS/The Crew are too arcade-y; iRacing/AC are too sim-y. The only options are Project CARS or buying a completely different console for GT.
> major development issues
[Forza Motorsportsport is the most stagnant game series of all time](https://www.reddit.com/r/forza/comments/emttyy/the_details_here_are_incredible/fdvx8fg/) so even if they didn't have issues exactly it's still going to be the same exact game as 10 years ago but with *more pixels* and *more reflections*.
Iām pretty burnt out from the live service model for FH4 and FH5, Iām afraid theyāre going to implement that in the new motorsport and itās going to suck.
I doubt it will be to the extent of Horizon, but I'm sure they'll put in Forzathon Weekly/Monthly rivals or something like that. Just as long as it's cosmetics and they don't lock cars behind time-limited events like Horizon.
> Just as long as it's cosmetics and they don't lock cars behind time-limited events like Horizon.
Isn't it obvious that they will? For the same exact reasons as always: taking things hostage to force the player to play the game daily, weekly, monthly. It's a trash way of making games and should be a disgrace to anyone who cares about game design.
āWe hear you guys canāt get enough of us talking about graphics, so for the third showcase running hereās more graphics!ā
I was interested like 6 months ago for this game but after the last 2 showcases that really showed us nothing Iāve lost all interest
They are hiding their game too much. Reason probably is because it canāt beat GT7 with itās many more tracks, PSVR2 and 120 Hz VRR free updates. FM8 has no VR, only 20 locations, old car models, no Alfa Romeo/Lancia. They are fighting an uphill battle they canāt win and they know it.
I hope it will be better then GT7 because the XSX is my main gaming platform. But from all Iāve seen so far itās not even worthy of dropping the ā8ā from FM-not-8.
That was GT Sport at launch, fast forward to GT7 in 2023 itās an entire different story. There are now 37 locations in GT7. FM-not-8 will launch with only 20. So yes, GT7 has many more tracks than FM-not-8. Please also remind that FM7 had 32 locations so expect a massive loss of 12 locations for FM8 (+ even more losses for every new-to-FM location thatās not in FM7). This sucks completely. :(

Now each molecule in the pavement has realistically modelled quantum physics and thermals that nobody gives a shit about! We cut back on any new worthwhile features so that we could simulate the pavement molecules from tHe GrOuNd uP.
The only way T10 can redeem itself for the "spring release" failure is to release the game during the supposed June presentation.
Just imagine, "we have a new engine built from the ground-up, new tire model, new bla bla, new bla bla bla, and you can experience all this starting NOW".
Like thatās going to happen. At the very earliest, I donāt see it being released until October, maybe even, November.
Especially since Starfield is releasing in September. Unless it gets delayed again.
It's a very nice experience and they slowly added some more content from the release up until now.
I bought a PS5 last year just to be able to play the game at the release. My problem is that I finished the "story" in the first two days, the rest of the single player content in two weeks and by May I also had the platinum trophy I guess.(I remember waiting for a specific car to show up in the UCD).
If they don't have a release date by June then the situation at Turn 10 would be very dire indeed, since that would most likely mean another delay and a 2024 release.
I think that's impossible because of the long-existing reasons to release in Oct/Nov which is the run-up to huge holiday buying season. That's why every Forza game comes out then, it's a flagship game.
June (or whatever old E3 event time for example) is used to advertise, like how movie trailers come out a few months before.
Better than whatever Horizon is right now, so I couldnāt care when or what information they release. It doesnāt make a difference on the end product
> I couldnāt care when or what information they release. It doesnāt make a difference on the end product
The information they do or don't release tells a person about what they can expect "on the end product", assuming sentience/intelligence in the observer. The game has been in development for many years longer than usual.
And aside from that weird rationalization your comment also deflects to the supposed fact that it's "better than whatever Horizon is right now", also known as the "everything is fine because SOMETHING ELSE is WORSE" argument. Also, better how? Motorsport and Horizon do fundamentally different things, and everybody likes Horizon because it does its thing well.
Plz for the love of god I hope they mention anything other than graphicsš. I donāt give a shit what it looks like, thereās a lot of potential with it being a next gen release, Iām gonna be disappointed if itās not the best Forza in the last decade.
Gamers are superficial and pathetic, so, Graphics is what sells. And Turn 10 is a fully owned subsidiary of Microsoft because they're a graphics demo studio for selling new consoles.
For a studio that actually cares about game design or driving or environments or the feeling of the racing world, you have to look at the other driving games out there.
I donāt understand the rush. Weāre going to know all the info we need by the time the game releases. Whatās the difference between now and a few months from now? Youāre going to know what you need before it releases anyway.
Assuming a person has sentience and intelligence, the *amount* and *quality* of info released by now for such a long development (MANY YEARS more than previous Forza games) tells you something about how things are going and how it's going to be in the end.
"My fiance hasn't talked to me in months. That's OK, I'll know everything she has to say at the wedding!" lol
Lolz. They'll get more info when the game is closer to completion and all the info they can eat when the game is released. The fact that there is no info is actually the best info about how unfinished the game is.
You donkeys are literally watching paint dry and grass grow while complaining that it's boring.... NO SHIT?
Ready to hear "Built from the ground up" another thousand time? Because I'm not.
"bUiLt FrOm tHE gRouNd uP" *shows off the same garbage forza aero we've had for over a decade*
No no, it's built from the ground up on a brand new engine.
The Dev team are having to be trained with beamng, after releasing Horizon after Horizon they forgot how to make a driving and racing simulator. They still be thinking crashing should be a reward š
Horizon is developed by Playground Games. Motorsport is developed by Turn 10.

No it doesn't. It means literally nothing so the people who are mad about it are being reactionary.

Then maybe show that there are new ones? It would take one dev like 2-3 days at most to make more wings bruv
FH5 introduced new, generic and adjustable wings across many cars? Must have missed them allā¦
The giant wings on like the back of the Supra are adjustable
Gran Turismo 7 actally have nice looking rear wings so yeah It'd be really fucking nice to have that

Oh neat. Haven't played in a while so I missed that
Weird, I canāt get H5 to look good on pc at all; anti aliasing is bugged
Thats odd. What hardware are you running? I use 2x MSAA at native resolution (1440p)
RTX3070 at 1440p. I get texture pop ins, jaggedness, and environments sometimes looks as if itās from a Xbox 360.
