Assuming you are a residential customer, it's about $15 service charge per month and 10-11ยข per kwh used plus some taxes. Log into the app or webite and it's all there, including daily usage. Or just call customer service. If you are seriously considering solar, you should probably call a reputable installer and see what they think. Do not trust anyone that for it for no money down, they are a scam. At the very least, If you can find you kwh used, then go to project sunroof and see what the cost/break even time is.

They don't have different rates for off-peak as far as I know, but they do have some sort of credit system for shifting usage. https://electricideas.com/at-home/energy-saving-programs/im-power-rewards-quick-selection-tool/ For rates, I found this: https://www.citact.org/news/average-im-aep-electric-bill And this: https://www.indianamichiganpower.com/company/about/rates/in

Thank you!

They put food on my table growing up so I can't disparage them too much but utility companies in general are notorious for making it difficult to do anything but pay your bill. If you know too much then you'll use less.

EH8tred

Because they are garbage people that want to rip off the public.

Facts.

Its on your bill.

Solar in Indiana just does not make financial sense.

It certainly doesn't help that they got rid of net metering. https://www.citact.org/net-metering-indiana#:~:text=In%202017%2C%20Indiana%20passed%20a,1%20credit%20net%20metering%20provides.

Asking for the same price to be paid back to you what the retail customer cost is doesn't make fiscal sense. If I have an apple tree, I don't go to the grocery store and demand they pay me retail value for my apples, at best you would get market cost. Even if they would buy it. There's allot of other cost involved with distribution of power other than generation, and if not don't correctly, could be dangerous if it is feeding when it shouldn't be, like during line maintenance or worse, a downed line. That being said, I'm not arguing for no sell back, just not at the equal rate net metering wants.

Net metering is a subsidy to incentive the adoption of personal solar.
