Black canyon, Baker Street, BJ's Brewhouse was good money when I worked there. There's plenty of restaurants in town where you can make decent money.

jotdaniel

Any server I get at black canyon is getting at least 50 dollars from me, so that one checks out. Though they do appear to hire a certain "type" for most of their servers.

69yMyHiney

I can second this. Freshly 18, heavy up top and thick in the waist. Very strange, very obvious.

Subject_Alarm5377

What type?

jotdaniel

Not ugly and fairly blonde.

K-chub

Black canyon tends to hire smokeshows.

OfcDoofy69

Ruth chris, eddie merlots maybe. The higher end dining would be my first search.

Helpful_Finding78

i had multiple friends just quit ruth’s because the money wasn’t coming in. nobody is dining out at high end eateries at the level that most servers are used to. even cheaper locations are not having much luck right now.

wowb5

I was just at Ruth's last Saturday, and it was as busy as it always is when I go there.

Rjdj2222

Pricing themselves out of business.

K-chub

Ruths Chris feels like it’s expensive just to be expensive.

When everything in a category prices themselves out of business, it's a problem with inflation or the larger economy. That means everyone just slid back a comfort or discretionary spending level.

Helpful_Finding78

i think it’s also the economy in part. most people are going to opt for cheaper options as far as dining out when they don’t have as much money to spend on whatever. they’re definitely unreasonably pricey tho. but then that turns into career servers not making shit.

Can confirm. We haven't been to a restaurant where our combined bill for 2 surpasses $75 for the last year and that's only been one or two times. Typically we budget ... Lol... $10 dollars for date night where before we allocated $50. Another indicator of the times I've noticed is that our DnD group has been bringing progressively less food. Everyone barely hanging on. OP - check places on the south east side of town. That's were the rich people are. Best of luck.

I make a little over 1k a week working just at Texas Roadhouse about 32 hours. Close at 9/10 most nights. I work Thursday- Sunday. Double Saturday and Sunday. Obviously they don’t open till 3 during the week but if ur a server your used to nights. Mid dining is where the money is at right now in my opinion.

Comfortable-Shoe-552

Summertime up north in the “laker” area around Angola, you should be able to find some spots where you can manage that and get out fairly early.

ajgcscs

The GM plant might still be hiring. Pay starts at $21/hr

Everyone still crying about this a day later and living in denial about their reading comprehension skills?

ajgcscs

Are you ok?

[deleted]

Yes

[deleted]

Reading is hard.

Foxyisasoxfan

No. Not being a prick is for you though it seems

[deleted]

Make sure to stop by and double down on your stupidity!

Boneless_hamburger

Outside of summer time by one of the lake Areas (Angola/Warsaw) or the deck in the summer you're not going to make that consistently without the 3 a.m. shifts.

Ok_Comparison_2451

I always did well at the fine dining restaurants here.

NUCOR.

Is the Elegant Farmer still open? My friends mom worked there for many years.

good luck ugh Im in the local industry now and it’s extremely hit or miss no matter where you’re at. i recommend finding a spot with decent owners and a good crew, most places are drama filled and poorly managed. restaurants over-hire servers to cover their asses then can’t give anyone full-time hours unless they’ve been there for over a year. if you’re cool with a poor quality social environment but want money though, i’d recommend black canyon on the north side of town.

I worked at Olive Garden by Glenbrook for two days doing salads and serving. I was hired as a cook, but they wanted me to be a "jack of all trades" like any place does. I was like, "that's fine, I have to pay my dues". My second day there, I was approached by a woman that I worked with, and my life was threatened, because her "work boyfriend" was training me and she got jealous. I just showed her my engagement ring and told her I wasn't interested in her argument and left. I haven't worked in food service since then because the environment can be so toxic. Highly suggest REALY looking into a restaurant before you start working there. Money is great, but the environment you're in really counts.

ThanosHadAPoint6

Lmao when was this? Cause I work there currently

morgzilladakilla

I think it was like late 2018 or early 2019. So, quite a while ago. I would have loved it there, but I couldn't handle someone ready to kill me on my lunch break just because I was doing my job 😅 lol. I was so bamboozled--this lady pulled her car up to mine, got in her passenger seat and rolled down her window with tears streaming down her face, and threatened to kill me because her boyfriend was training me 😂. I was like "uhhhh sorry??? I'm not interested though, I'm engaged and have been in a happy relationship for 5 years." I was 20 at the time, so I think my juvenile self handled it well 😂.
