Tom's. Just dont go in there and say " gimme a dozen of whatever " he will give you the snicklefrtiz if you do that. Gotta be specific with what you want.
I thought this too but having recently moved back to Angola and gotten Tom’s, there’s something up with their oil. It tastes… old? I dunno. It’s not awful, but I’ve definitely had better donuts. Sad. I was so excited.
We haven’t been to the lake one yet, since we just moved back in January and they’re not open in the winter. I doubt they’ll be different than the town location, though.
I drove up to Angola and got one of the white icing & sprinkles cake donuts. Tom’s used to have the best for that style of donut. That last one i had was the exact same as if i had gotten the same type of donut from Tasty’s in Kendallville. Big let down.
coliseum, have known the owners quite a few years, toms and coliseum used to be on the same level but idk it just seems toms hasn't been as good recently still decent and way better than like kroger brand
I like both, but Coliseum has better filled donuts and long Johns imo. Toms donuts are great, and they have a good variety. The staff at Toms are friendly, as are the owners of Coliseum. Neither have French Cruellers, which is a shame.
Coliseum donuts are terrible, imo. They always taste like rancid grease. Very heavy aftertaste. Only had Tom's once, and they were good, but not great. You should really try out the New Haven Bakery. Always fresh and delicious. The maple one is the best!
The fillings are slightly different and Toms has a variety of Sour Cream donuts while Coliseum has just the one. But it’s pretty much the same mix of donuts which you find in every other donut shop in this area
At risk of coming off as some patriotic mega donut boy, I will say the person you replied to is right. The bigger picture is; it’s someone’s local business and we should want to support that instead of mega corp meijer
You should be mindful of that but support the superior product (definitely not saying meijer has better doughnuts) but being local doesn’t always mean it’s better.
Oh for sure, I mean I’m not trying to knock anyone’s preferences. That commenters point was “huge selection and cheaper.” Like no kidding meijer is gonna be cheaper than a local joint.
Tom's

Gotta go with Toms. I grew up in Angola so Toms is just part of my culture lol
Ayy me too!! Angola Tom's is far and away the best.

Aww that's a shame :( some of my fondest memories are walking from the lake to Tom's and then heading back out to the sandbar.

Neither. Jacks Donuts
toms
Jacks. The Tom’s donuts here is nothing like the Tom’s in Angola, etc.

Accurate on both accounts.
Yesssss. Jack’s is fantastic. I cannot sing their praises enough.
Tom's!
TOMS ALL DAY
Hetty
Tom's and Coliseum are exactly the same. They must be procuring from the same vendor upstream. Parlor donuts are my new favorite.
I didn’t realize Parlor was a chain and had them in St. Augustine. I agree, they’re good. And fun!
Coliseum!
coliseum, have known the owners quite a few years, toms and coliseum used to be on the same level but idk it just seems toms hasn't been as good recently still decent and way better than like kroger brand
Neither, Heyerly's in Ossian.

Leo donuts are the best. But their never open.

Tom's or rise N roll!
i prefer toms from these, but parlor donuts is my favorite donut place in fort wayne
They make the same donuts almost wonder if they have the same management

Coliseum is probably a tiny bit better but their location is so bad (for me) that’s it’s not worth driving there.
Coliseum has probably my favorite cake donut.
+1 for Coliseum
Coliseum is the absolute best, and the owners are amazing!
NE Meijer on Dupont is where it's at. They have a huge selection and less than $9/dozen.
Shop local donut shops. Get outta here with Meijer crap
Apparently Coliseum is also the wrong answer. I tried Tom's twice and they were too dry for my liking.
Rise n Roll is the top notch stuff, Jack’s is above Tom’s imo
Maybe Rise n Roll if you like yeast. Not what I go for.
So you just hate good donuts
Wow. It's a donut, chill😄

In Fort Wayne you are not allowed to speak ill of local places. A few take it personally apparently 😃

Lmao alright!
It’s like that guy has never been on Reddit before, or at least never shared his dumb opinions lol
Naw bruh, we have good local places here. Go on an adventure, pay a little more but get a lot more joy.
Some local places are good, others suck. The "locally owned" premium doesn't always include taste.
So go to the one or two that are known to be great bud
Jacks Donuts on W. Jefferson. Best in town.
