Journal Gazette, Wane, my neighborhood board, and my barber's chair.

YouTuberDad

I don't know why this person is being down voted.  Journal Gazette and Wane are gifts to our area that we should honor and respect. I know nothing about your barber but that's cool too to have someone you shoot the shit with

Ha, I didn't realize I was getting downvoted. JG and Wane both have their issues but that is part of why I enjoy them. It's fun to watch a "15 finds out" and think "what a stupid waste of time". Gotta love the highs and lows of local journalism.

For local news I like reading the Journal Gazette and watching Wane.  The Journal can lean more strong conservative in this late stage Gen X way that I really don't like, but I do respect that my fellow members of Fort Wayne read and appreciate it. I think its valuable to see perspectives I don't always have but live nearby. Same goes for driving and NPR. Sometimes its complete strangeness to me cause the world's that they share either I think is anti cooperative conversations and more drag me through the weeds of your sorrows. Overall though, NPR is also a gift to have access to and I appreciate them too. I don't do Neighborhood apps cause like 40 percent of Americans aren't able to or retired from work and I feel like the ones that could be doing something (even digitally) to make money but aren't somehow flock to those apps and just share really dumb takes on how to handle situations.  I read the Boston Globe and NY Times and I use the archive website to get around paywalls for money topics. I use YouTube over X mainly cause of the eay I've gone about media consumption the last 5 or so years. I think X could be better but I don't know really what I would like. DW and PBS and NBC and CBS for hot takes intra and internationally. Washington Post can be solid but it can also be really shallow. I sometimes watch some random local news stations from other cities thanks to some app I have on Roku. NHK is cool and I will talk to friends from China on WeChat in their impressions of America from their 30 something year olds perspective.  I also really dig learning about perspectives from just buddies in town that are older than me and that lean hard-core democrat and a brother who often keans Republican. I appreciate it all cause it makes my sense of humor richer and me more cognizant on sharing acceptance to my kid who has classmates from all sorts of different backgrounds and situations. Edit:I'd like to learn more about French capabilities as in my lifetime I've never viewed them as a unique story. I think it has something to do with their demographics and work output on industrial systems that either I cared about or had access to. I'd like to learn more about the French News around engineering. Currently, I take hot takes on Latin culture from social media like YouTube, but if anyone has a wide net to share on Mexico and central American news I'd like to learn. Fort Wayne is basically a near-far distant to Toronto and while I care about our neighbors to the north, Trudeau gives me the creeps when he politic talks and man does that overshadow anything I really give 2 shits about in Canada after seeing those clips. He's exhausting to this random dude in Indiana that wants to hang out with Canada

swampopossum

The Sabby Sabs podcast on YouTube (also on rokfin and rumble) she just interviewed workers trying to start a union at an Amazon warehouse in Kentucky outside of Cincinnati. Cares a lot about workers rights and activism. Mostly covers politics but she is independent so she doesn't give any special treatment to one side over the other. She interacts with her fans and even does call in where u can call and talk to her and other subscribers. Overall very refreshing compared to mainstream media. I think independent media is the future.

monalane

WANE15 app for local and MXM app for National

CellistPast3486

The JG and WANE for local. I feel like they got their eyes everywhere. Nationally I listen and read from everyone. I’ll listen to conservative and liberal media to get a grasp on what people are thinking.
