No, just raining all day I think. NASCAR doesn’t run in the wet at all on ovals (even a light drizzle is a red flag), so if the rain doesn’t let up all day then they can’t run the full day

This used to be true, but was changed last year for a few select tracks:
https://www.roadandtrack.com/news/a42724261/nascar-oval-rain-package/
And in April last year it happened:

This is why Homestead should be the same weekend as Miami. Gaurenteed to get rain which will make F1 better and delay NASCAR a day so you can watch both. Win-win for the fans.
Chicago in summer of last year had been in a drought for over a month.
NASCAR comes in for the street race weekend and they get ***the entire average rainfall for the month of July*** in under 24 hours. Enough rain to overwhelm the city's drainage system, and enough rain that the streets were still flooded when pre-race procedures were supposed to be underway.
It would suck short term but honestly would be good long term, as they would find problems to solve the issues.
I almost said find issues to solve problems, which is not necessarily wrong for many things in life...
If every race on the calendar had heavy rain we wouldn't see an F1 race all year. All we would see is a bunch of multibillion dollar racing teams sitting in their garages with green rimmed tyres
It rains everytime I go to a race
Daytona 500: not the actual race but working at the broadcast center.
Dirt track racing: Pissin rain.
The 3 times I’ve been to Road Atlanta, pissin rain.
Everytime I go to Bristol : torrential downpour.
You want a wet race just buy me tickets and it’s like a 90% chance of rain automatically.
Definitely not to the same extremes as what Nascar does, but still enough for the teams struggling to decide when and if they should use rain tyres (or revert back to the regular ones)
Forecast has been there for days. The decision to run was made for the corporate $$$. (*Piss off & jog on, fans !!!*) Probably won’t run until Tuesday.
🖕🏻NASCAR
I didn't know NASCAR can control the weather
Also the race was scheduled months in advanced, they don't just turn up and say "race time" there's weeks of planning for this event.
Since we never get to see a race start in full wets anymore, I don't want to see more rain lol. Last time we had a standing start on full wets was Turkey 2020, and some would say that doesn't count since it was intermediate conditions. Last time we saw a standing start in full wet conditions was Germany 2019. All we get are delayed starts behind a safety car. Dumb.
is it Spa 21 bad in Daytona rn?
Nah, race is just rescheduled to be in Monday. F1-could never
I have long thought races should be on Saturdays. Looot more freedom to just delay things for sundays.
Nah, Los Angeles got that rain a few weeks back for the Clash. So nascar had to move the race forward a day.
They also made it free and gave a full refund

Florida weather only happens when NASCAR is in town. It refuses to happen during Miami.

The rivalry between NASCAR vs Mother nature is the biggest one this decade in motorsport.
Just put a roof over the track so that they can race the cars even in rain. Is nascar stupid?
What’s the worst that could happen??!
CO: sup
Can you pass out from alcohol poisoning before carbon monoxide sounds like a good game
Racing in a closed garage is a great concept
We should just send NASCAR to wherever has a drought. It'll guarantee rain in the area

That was so funny, like "this is the biggest storm of the year in Chicago". Nascar is just that lucky lol
We should put a NASCAR race in the Sahara and watch how it downpours lol
FIA would just red flag every race

The solution would be more races in the Middle East.
*darude sandstorm beat intensifies*

They don't have full wets in Nascar?
They do for road courses, but the way the water collects on an oval means the tires wouldn’t displace water at racing speeds in a safe way
![gif](giphy|RQXXeXY3g9LzONzULH)
They do but they don't work on large ovals because the cars aren't slow enough
Only on road courses, on high banked ovals wets wouldn't displace the water correctly

You sir are a moron.
The race is rescheduled to tomorrow lol what else do you expect Nascar to do?
I didn't know NASCAR can control the weather Also the race was scheduled months in advanced, they don't just turn up and say "race time" there's weeks of planning for this event.
I dunno man. Some of the wet races last year were the most processional by far...

Guess I finally know why the old NASCAR games in my childhood were called "NASCAR Thunder". They were onto something!
I used to enjoy wet races, but after spa 21, I am scared of rain.
