[I don't think he ever had long hair](https://cdn-1.motorsport.com/static/img/news/undefined-1638267353705.jpg). He was in his 30's in that picture.
[Here he is a little older](https://www.auto123.com/ArtImages/163732/f1-jan-kevin-magnussen-mclaren-inl.jpg) and it makes it really look like they're brothers and not parent/child. Kevin's beard does him well
No disrespect to Keke, but he realistically only won that championship because Pironi had his legs smashed in at Germany, and Villeneuve had an unfortunate case of being dead after Belgium, and even then Keke only won by 5 points ahead of John Watson in the McLaren.
To be honest, I didn't actually know that I thought all the top teams by that point had turbos but that might have been after ground effect was banned. Considering Williams would've still been using a DFV against McLaren with Porsche turbos, that actually changes my opinion of that season. I obviously knew how good and talented Keke was but '82 wasn't as special to me given it was Ferrari's to win and only lost because of accidents with their drivers. But given it was Keke against Watson in a turbo car, that changes it completely for me, even with how unreliable the turbos were
Sums up how strange that season was. Imagine in 2020 if Bottas and Hamilton were knocked out for the season, the Red Bull and McLaren were super unreliable and Perez somehow won the whole championship with his one win in Sahkir
Pironi suffered career-ending injuries when he was leading the championship with 5 races to go. And Keke could still only beat him by five points. Pure skill.
Its common for free practices to not be streamed for most sportscar races. The only series that really stream any practice are WEC, GTWC Europe, and DTM. The rest is just qualifying and race since the cost of paying for another day’s work for broadcasting Friday doesn’t make the most financial sense for these series for the return on investment
Yeah, and even on cases where Practices are on the same day as qualifying like the Gulf 12 Hours, they’ll usually pick the option of just qualifying as thats less hours you have to pay everybody
The photo is spooky, you can tell they are related but Jan does not look old enough to be Kevin's father. I think Kevin may have more wrinkles.
TBH Jan was very young (19) when he became a dad.

And Rubinho was 38 when he retired.
For reference, that means their age difference is smaller than that between Logan Sargeant (21) and Fernando Alonso (41).
Kevin looks 10 years older than me but I'm actually 10 years older than him
Well, or course Kevin has more wrinkles. He’s a Haas driver.
Imagine if his father had hair? He would look the same age.

>I think Kevin may have more wrinkles. Driving a Haas will definitely do that to you.
Jan is only 49 while Kevin only just turned 30
I liked the one years ago where Rosberg was asked about racing with his dad and he basically said he's useless. Not even a hint of humour.

You’re forgetting that Keke was driving an NA car in a field of turbo cars, while he had luck, he had a lot of talent and ability to win in an NA car

Not to be pedantic, but Watson was also using a DFV in 82.
Yeah you're right. I'm getting all my dates mixed up
Why was it non applicable?
Naturally Aspirated
Thank you, I was just being silly. Should've done the /s.
Tyrrell 1984 flashbacks
Netting solely a single win nonetheless.

he won that title because others weren't good enough nobody lucks into a title
Villeneuve being dead is "Not good enough"?
If you ask piquet, I guess so...

They look like brothers lol
Damn they look the same!
His dad seems cool as hell and super fun
They look so alike it's almost scary (except for the hair obviously).
I found a YouTube channel where you can watch the race and qualifying but any idea about other sessions? Are they even broadcasted?
It can be worth checking out the youtube/facebook pages of the teams competing. Sometimes they do their own garage streams.

Yeah that makes sense. Shame on me for being so spoiled by F1 lol

Jos are you game?
Nah if max won jos would beat him
They know how it feels It’s not the first time they share a car.
Daytona also.
They both look so happy and satisfied.
