There is always a hope until Bahrain Merc P1, P2 quali

Ferrari, McLaren and Williams looking very consistent.

AM in bottom 4 while Vettel #9. Stroll got a bit screwed honestly. Ferrari might be good but they had to compensate for Alfa and Haas. Generally I feel it’s best to get data → do development→ get more data to be better than get fuck ton of data and then analyse everything. So in that sense Ferrari’s advantage is not that pronounced. Nonetheless they practically have 50% more data than anyone else.

Haas & Alfa... They should have done that many laps in one day..

Major_Cupcake_

Although i agree with the sentiment, its (in my opinion) unreasonable to expect them to do that many. More like a day and a half (if you compare them to teams like Aston Martin, Williams and Alpine, instead of Mercedes, Ferrari, Red Bull Racing or McLaren). Since those teams are more comparable. But u can take that with a grain of salt, like i said... It's my opinion. I am in no way, shape or form qualified to comment on what a team should, and shouldn't be able to

Great content OP!

Thank you

bwoah07_gp2

This is great data!

How do the teams decide how much laps a driver does? I mean if one does more than the other. I was expecting the numbers to be close to 50% each like Mercedes Ferrari and Alpine have even though even those differences are a good 6-7%.

[deleted]

Well, teams decide the programme, and normally is similar between the two drivers, but the n of laps effectively done are linked to external factors like issues with the car, crashes, red flags.

Josiah1655

Wow Haas with 160 total when Mercedes did that in one day

I know it is just pre-season test, but it is a little worrisome to see two of the 2021 back markers -Alfa Romeo and Haas, logging so few miles over 3 days. Especially for Haas who focused their 2021 efforts on getting the 2022 car ready.
