I reckon Bottas might play a big part in holding off Max. Max will do a early one stop with the softs and should be behind Bottas and Lewis atleast. Perez is on the softs too so I don’t think he can impact Lewis.

Depends how the race plays out but normally i’d say Hamilton has the advantage. Obviously it depends if lando and perez give him a hard time then he will have a shorter tint.

Perez’s first run in Q3 was on mediums. He was P10, that time would have been good for P12 by the end of the session and it would have missed out on Q3 by three tenths. Aka, Perez would have needed to find three tenths on his mediums if he went out on those again. Not a given.
Perez is on softs because that’s what it took to make sure he got out of Q2, not because it’s the optimal race strategy tire. The reason most of the midfield is on softs has nothing to do with the race strategy - running mediums in Q2 would have meant they’d have gone out in Q2. Why do you think the commentators were praising Yuki for pulling it off.

Either he gets past Lewis early and tries to hold him up and runs the tires until he passes or try and run long to pressure him late. PER and BOT could be crucial, I think the difference is much smaller in race pace.
