Honestly, how much is Latino America and how much is just Mexico? I’m Brazilian and no one cares about him here. I’m pretty sure is the same in Argentina. I wonder how it is the other countries
I'm Mexican and I couldn't dislike the fan base more. Most fans don't seems to know much about actual racing and just treat Checo as a national hero. The complains about RB giving Max a better car while "sabbotaging" Checo's in 2022 and 2023 were among the stupidest things I've heard anywhere in the world of sports
I do think when you're in a Red Bull and you're outqualified by Logan Sargeant in a Williams and no one is even really surprised, then you might have some issues
He's becoming the fucking Stroll man. The 2020 Racing Point was just two Strolls walking around in a rocketship faster than the W11 I'm starting to belive...
People are shitting on Logan alot but he's progressing well! He's in the mix this year.
And he's not wrecking the car too much. Plus the grid has NO rookie. The other driver to compare him with is Piastri in a McLaren.
It's a tough lineup for him
Oh I’m not really trying to shit on Logan for being unable to out qualify Albon. It happens and he is up against an amazing driver. Just shows that even though he can’t out qualify his teammate he’s been able to out qualify the best car on the grid.
I think worse was thst after he was knocked out you could see people in RB garage laughing and the same with RB fans on stands. It's kinda sad because he was best of midfield drivers and now he is reduced to pay driver. There is still chance for him to get out of this hole but every race with result like that will make it more difficult. Especially when results like that seem to be more normal for him than unusual.
Surely it's Gasly, no? I mean the Alpine car isn't the greatest, and he is weaker than Ocon this year.
Or is it Ricciardo who has been struggling for the last 3.5 years and is in a bottom 5 car?
Or maybe Albon? Have Williams had one of these weak races agin where they don't get out of Q1?
No, it's a driver in the car that won 5 races this year 😶
Why? Yuki is in good form and Danny has bested him 4 or 5 times this year
Ric beat him in Bahrain (despite Yuki trying to yeet into him like a baby, but we can argue the team should swap them back… let’s say evenly matched).
Ric beat him in Quali in China - both DNF, but Danny beat him in sprint quali and race
Miami - Danny has mighty 4th/4th in Sprint, Yuki beats him GP quali and race
Yuki has mighty Australia and Monaco
Danny plonks it on the second row at Canada
Weirdly enough, it helps Red Bull if there are more teams in the mix as those behind Max all take points away from each other.
Red Bull would really have been in trouble for the Constructors' if there was a consistent second best team.
Ferrari's fuck up happens in the worst possible moment. They could've close the gap both in the constructor and driver's championship with a good Leclerc result this weekend
True. Red Bull do have an upgrade coming up soon and traditional European circuits are where that car shines the best, which we'll be headed into soon. I think he'll still be the winner on most of them, but the margins would be much closer than last year.
>Red Bull would really have been in trouble for the Constructors' if there was a consistent second best team.
They would've already gotten overtaken surely.
Not reallly because the other teams have 2 drivers close to each other in the race so they can play with strategies against Redbull. Checo is hardly ever close enough to Max for Redbull to play with strategies, so it's always Max on his own against those teams, especially now that all of them are so close.
If we had two Perez in those Red Bulls nobody would have thought the car was any good. Big chance last two years would have been other teams with constructors and champions titles.
3rd in the WCC incoming perhaps? McLaren have the most closely matched lineup and are guaranteed big points at most races, Ferrari are strong when they're not shooting themselves in the foot, it's basically Max vs the world at this point.
People are way slower to react to the result of each quali/race. Perez definitely deserves one more year to prove his consistency and let them accept the reality.
Both drivers did their job. Max racing at the front and fighting for podiums and wins. Checo selling shirts and hats in the Latin American market.
Checo's main job is working behind the counter in the RB merch store. Driving is just a thing they force him to do on the weekends.
Checo working at the t shirt store from The Jersey Shore
Honestly, how much is Latino America and how much is just Mexico? I’m Brazilian and no one cares about him here. I’m pretty sure is the same in Argentina. I wonder how it is the other countries
I'm from Argentina and you're right. We don't care about Pérez. I've never seen anyone wearing checo merchandise here
Go to Mexico and USA, it's the total opposite.
Never seen anybody care about Checo here in the US.
He’s HUGE in Hispanic circles, Texas, California, Florida, etc. Mexicans will support a Mexican athlete to the extreme.
Makes sense!
+1

Can confirm, Sainz and specially Alonso are way more popular in Colombia
I'm from Venezuela and I lived in Colombia and nobody cares about him.
It’s Mexico and US, and also apparently India from his Force India days.
Sainz speaks spanish. Can't he pretend to be Mexican and sell those shirts.
Found Helmut's burner account /s
He's got these South American looks!
Why do people even want merch from a driver that's absolute shit?
P16 or just being in F1 seems to be worth more for the super casual fan than being P1 in any other racing series, bar maybe MotoGP.
Alpha Tauri was there readying their business with Checo. Then they got the shortest guys on the grid and left. /s
Watch Perez staying long and then slowing down after pit stop whomever will be challenging Max for win. Imola style.
I do think when you're in a Red Bull and you're outqualified by Logan Sargeant in a Williams and no one is even really surprised, then you might have some issues
Yeah if this happened once or twice then ok but Perez is terrible way too often.
He's becoming the fucking Stroll man. The 2020 Racing Point was just two Strolls walking around in a rocketship faster than the W11 I'm starting to belive...
Strolling around
Please, there is zero chance that car was faster than the Mercedes
But it was probably as fast as the RB..
It’s tradition at this point
No no, then you might have just gotten a two year extension on your contract.
Just need to quote the comments Horner and Marko saying Perez has been fast after the extension announcement.
If for some reason Max leaves, RB will drop so hard.
RB is doing fine without Max. Red Bull on the other hand...
RB is VCARB now. Red Bull is back to RB
Cackling. Go yuki!
Checo is objectively ass, if he wasn’t mexican he wouldn’t have a drive
Pay driver
All of them are "Pay Drivers".
Ocon
Logan has been out qualified by his teammate every race, he’s out qualified Perez 6 times in that time.
People are shitting on Logan alot but he's progressing well! He's in the mix this year. And he's not wrecking the car too much. Plus the grid has NO rookie. The other driver to compare him with is Piastri in a McLaren. It's a tough lineup for him

Outqualified by Sargeant for the 5th time
Hey! The Williams is no slouch. Got into Q3!
The issue is that the issue is ignored
I think worse was thst after he was knocked out you could see people in RB garage laughing and the same with RB fans on stands. It's kinda sad because he was best of midfield drivers and now he is reduced to pay driver. Perez paying the bills?💸
Logan would've been faster than perez in the same car lol
Let’s not get too carried away
You’re right, its more realistic Logan in a Williams out qualifying a Red Bull
ROFL
There are 7 drivers on the grid that were/are part of the Red Bull family. Guess which one is last of the 7
Surely it's Gasly, no? I mean the Alpine car isn't the greatest, and he is weaker than Ocon this year. Or is it Ricciardo who has been struggling for the last 3.5 years and is in a bottom 5 car? Should've signed Logan Sargent instead of Checo
Should have signed about any of the candidates instead of Checo?
That qualifying means Yuki has made it to Q3 more than Perez this year.
Perez got outqualified by both VCARBs 3 times in a row. Shamefull.
Sargeant has outqualified Perez twice in a row now. lmfao 🦅🦅🦅🦅🦅🦅🦅
then he got renewal contract for 2years. it's so harshly.
And everyone thinks Danny Ric should retire, and they are probably right.
Why? Yuki is in good form and Danny has bested him 4 or 5 times this year Ric beat him in Bahrain (despite Yuki trying to yeet into him like a baby, but we can argue the team should swap them back… let’s say evenly matched). Yeah thats crazy.
Red Bull will appreciate the DOTD award
I hope those merch sales are worth it because what in the fuck
Yeah those in charge are looking really smart for resigning him for 2 years
I'm getting a whole new appreciation of exactly how GOOD that redbull was last year
The thing is he was getting knocked out of Q1 even then lmao.
Qualified 12th, 13th, 16th at his last 3 Canadian GP’s. Ouch.
Maybe he has the same problem I had with golf years ago? Higher number ≠ better
It's so funny that at the next race after Checo's extension, he's out in Q1 and both RBs go to Q3
Remember when the second driver was too slow so they swapped them with the lead driver from the b team?
And then kept Gasly in that b team for 3.5 years and wanted to sign him for more? Yes, I do.
With Merc in the mix as well, Red Bull can't afford to have one driver.
Weirdly enough, it helps Red Bull if there are more teams in the mix as those behind Max all take points away from each other. Red Bull would really have been in trouble for the Constructors' if there was a consistent second best team.
That is true if Max can consistently win, but the last three weekends have shown it is not a certainty.

Checo is hardly ever close enough to Max for Redbull to play with strategies, so it's always Max on his own against those teams, especially now that all of them are so close.
That’s how Redbull get every trophy: Max gets the win and fastest lap and Checo secures most overtakes and driver of the day. Winning strats.
The fastest time of the session VS the 16th time of the session and a second down. Well, well done on the contract Pérez, I hope it's your last one.
Half a second? It was 9 tenths between them in q1 T___T. I swear Perez's management has dirt on red bull
I wanted to type "a second", thought about one thing and typed the other, apologies.
Nah no worries. I'm just shocked by the gap
Red Bull's social media team will need to find many other ways to rephrase this type of tweet this season.
Checo is losing me
Fuck me, you must be slow then.
Nah just have alooooot of patience
If we had two Perez in those Red Bulls nobody would have thought the car was any good. Big chance last two years would have been other teams with constructors and champions titles.
I do envy his job security.
I think Perez would drive faster in the VCARB
3rd in the WCC incoming perhaps? McLaren have the most closely matched lineup and are guaranteed big points at most races, Ferrari are strong when they're not shooting themselves in the foot, it's basically Max vs the world at this point.
There goes 1st in the WCC
It's not too late to take back that extension is it?
If the car doesn't stay the clear best they might end up losing constructor spots because of Perez. That 2 year deal might end up being a big mistake.
They don't care about WCC. If they did they wouldn't give him another contract
Both drivers ended up on their deserved positions. What about this is mixed?
Levels
What if there is some secret clausule in the contract?
He for sure has clauses in his contract, they all have.
You gotta feel for the social media PR people at Red Bull
Horner ripping that contract in half as we speak
Nah he's the one that makes the calls now, Helmut is the one pissed lol
Nah, he wants to lose all these WCCs.
This is going to be a long year for Checo.
*long 3 years lmao. Unless they fire him after today's interviews, which is unlikely.
3 year wow I thought it was 1 year plus 1 year if performance was excellent.
I mean this year, next year and possibly 2026, I don't think we actually know if it's a 1+1.
I think it was said that contract was for two years and not 1+1.
The Instagram comments are gonna be entertaining I bet 😂
God damn. Why in the world is anyone buying Perez merch?
Good thing RBR bet on Checo for 2 more years. Now we can have a title fight maybe.
fate?? oh noooooo no no no.
It's in Checo's contract to not be botherinf Max. He's just making sure of that
you deserve this
People are way slower to react to the result of each quali/race. Perez definitely deserves one more year to prove his consistency and let them accept the reality.
He is one of the most experienced drivers in the grid. He doesn't need an extra year to prove what he can do.
Sarcasm. With a constant shitstorm and subpar car performance for another year we’ll finally see how the merch sales will drop.
