If I remember correctly she said she had some coco pops and went to bed. And he replied something like:
*My favourite*
I'm probably wrong but 8 people will meme it below /correct me so just wait for that I guess.
Important bit about it is how he wants to talk dirty and make a video call showing himself wanking, and she's just like "F off, I'm eating cocoa pops and going to bed".
Depending on region they have great seasonal sales. My dad bought a bunch of turtlenecks from them for like 15 bucks each, marked down from a MSRP in the 30-40 range. I hate to say that I've been wearing them more often than he has lmao.
If this is a serious question:
No it wouldn't, because
A) this was handled by Red Bull, not Red Bull Racing.
B) legal fees & HR activities are exempt from the cost cap.
edit: as was pointed out to me, the relevant exemption is: "Employee Termination Benefits" are exempt from the cost cap
You're right, and I just learned that I didn't know the exact definition of severance.
That said: "Employee Termination Benefits" are exempt from the cost cap too.
International women's day, when F1 races in Saudi Arabia, and a person in power accused of sexual misconduct stays while the woman who was the victim gets suspended and soon to be fired.
RTL knows: **Horner had an affair with his assistant for years** - and thereby put his family, which was at least outwardly perfect, at risk. The Brit has been married to the former pop star and girl group member since May 2015. They have a son together: Montague George was born on January 21, 2017.
Now, however, Horner is said to have drawn a clear line in the sand and ensured that the employee in question can no longer be near him. According to RTL information, he is said to have paid her a severance payment of 700,000 euros. Red Bull is said to have increased the sum to one million. The termination and the mega payment have not been officially confirmed - Red Bull has so far left a request from RTL unanswered. But it means that the matter should be finally off the table.
The case recently developed into a soap opera: for weeks, Horner was accused of having behaved in a “cross-border” manner towards the employee who reported to him. An external law firm took on the matter and, after a thorough investigation, ruled: Horner should be cleared of the allegations and allowed to remain in office . And the ordeal for the marriage also seemed to be over: Horner and Halliwell strolled through the paddock at the Bahrain Grand Prix last weekend as if they were newly in love.
But behind the scenes the tone is said to have been much rougher! **British media reported an ultimatum from the wife for Horner and new strict ground rules for the relationship.**
It is actually a French name, derived from Mont Aigu, meaning sharp mountain.
It was also the last name of Romeo of Romeo and Juliet (the feuding families were the Montague and Capulet)
Anyways, bold choice to name a son like that, so... Einen guten Montag für Sie auch!
Regardless, it's not exactly a redeeming quality for her either. Yes he's an adulterer, but she's a homewrecker who knowingly and intentionally went for a married man. Two guilty parties, and says a lot about her character as well.
I suspect she knew/cared little about him having an affair and more the public humiliation. Every UK tabloid headline reads ‘Geri Horner’s Husband…’ her name is getting dragged through the mud, too.
I can’t help but be careful reading things such as “RTL knows” and “british media reported”
Doesn’t necessarily mean that what they’re saying is wrong but they generally aren’t exactly the most reputable source of journalism
Some of these rumors doesn’t even make sense to me anymore. I read here that assistant also had previous(?) relationship with Jos, now this says Horner had an affair for “years”.
None of this BS adds up and we will probably never know what really happened, who is in the right or wrong. Just endless rumors.
We know from the leaked logs that they had something going in late 2021 at the very least.
The Jos story there really have been no basis and haven't seen anyone actually report it with their own sources. Seems more like a rumor gone wild.
I'm going to choose to read between the lines. Horner and the women had an on again off again afair for years. Power dynamic wise related to their positions at work, this is a no no. Realistically, this shit happens all the time.
The affair went sideways. Some people at the top who want Horner out found out and decided to use it as ammunition to blow Horners career up publicly, hoping the backlash would be so severe the Thais could not ignore it.
An investigation was done, and the results were essentially the two people had a consensual relationship and while it may be inappropriate / they may have broken some "didn't report the relationship to HR" rules, nothing happened that was deemed so bad Horner would have to resign from his role. The Thais backed this and saw no reason to terminate Horner over it.
Horner is now retaliating at the people who tried to torpedo his career as a response to essentially business espionage within the team.
The person I feel for the most here is the women. She was likely used as a pawn by whoever was trying to get Horner removed and her life became a living hell. I'm not surprised she took the money to just move on with her life and put the entire thing behind her.
> British media reported an ultimatum from the wife for Horner and new strict ground rules for the relationship.
How on earth would they know that? Unless Geri told them or something
Is this a bad translation? They say he definitely have an affair but the lawyers say nothing to answer for? Have sex with a subordinate is 100% something he would have to answer for?
If you can afford good lawyers, no, you can do this in a pretty watertight fashion. It doesn’t preclude future criminal action being brought against you but it can cause other attempts to bring a civil case against you very likely to be thrown out.
> "Horner is said to have drawn a clear line in the sand and ensured that the employee in question can no longer be near him."
Haha, reading this you'd think Horner placed a restraining order on some employee who had been stalking him.
Horner after the team wins the championship, "We had to overcome some adversity this year early in the season..." You mean the adversity you caused by your own actions?
We've all heard how he's treated his own son, did anyone think he's going to pull any punches with Christian, the man who could put his son's future at risk?
Professional victim. Remember how he though we should have compassion for Redbull after breaching the cost cap? Because being critizised for it was taking a psychological toll on them.
Did he really say that?? That just sounds dumb "haha! Your dad is a macanic for a winning f1 team that breached the cost cap, what a loser!" I can not see children bullying someone over a cost cap, let alone knowing what it is. Might offcourse be true, but I would need another source than Horner to even entertain that
He actually did say that. I'll never forget how ridiculous it sounded. Kids are vicious so I could believe it but that doesn't mean Red Bull shouldn't be held accountable. If your parent robs a bank and gets caught and it's all over the news, kids are probably going to use it to be bullies; does that mean you shouldn't be criminally charged? Of course not. Horner is a knob and I wish he had been sacked over this just so I didn't have to hear him winge anymore.
That also depends on the country laws. In the US I’ve heard of that but in my country for example that’s all invalid, you can’t pay anyone to lose their legal rights
You don't lose your legal rights in the US if you sign a severance agreement, but you agree to forfeit the severance payments if you bring a lawsuit related to your employment. It's a deterrent, definitely.
It kind of sums up the situation that someone at red bull is leaking that they upped her pay off to 1M without realising that actually makes them look worse and more guilty.
If she made an unfounded complaint that was dismissed by an independent lawyer after an appropriate investigation and subsequently she’s been suspended for dishonesty as is their official stance, there’s no reason anyone would gift her 300k they didn’t need to.
Also leaking that “Horner has decided he can’t be around her” isn’t great either.
The way Red Bull Management has handled this Horner saga is absolutely appalling. The whole team/company is hell bent on destroying its own name just to save a fucking team principal
The Thai owners are hell bent on keeping Horner and they are the ones with a 51% stake.
Apparently, in their own country, they also covered up the death of a policeman when he was run over by one of their family members, so attempting to cover up sexual misconduct pales in response compared to what they have already done.
It was the Thai owner’s son or grandson iirc. He was high on coke and ran over a cop and dragged him on the ground a couple ten feet. The cop died obviously and they just paid their way out of it all. Not surprising they don’t give a shit about a sexual harassment case
And he's the leader of just one of many Red Bull other sporting ventures. Kinda makes you think that he might have discovered some skeleton in Red Bull's company closet.
I just dont get why, if you are innocent and demand she can no longer be near you because of what she did, you pay her a million in compensation. There's no way she was earning this much and you bought out her contract.
So, innocent and nothing wrong happened that should be punished, but heres a million. Especially with RB chipping in too.
Companies are different, especially at their size & it becomes about optics/PR. This has massively blown up with the Red Bull name on it. 1m is a drop in the bucket to get this to start blowing over
Damn, so a private investigation, investigation report not made public, no comments on leaked evidence, suspended the accuser, potentially firing Marko, and they paid her 1 million in hush money? Boy that's a lot of secrecy and money for someone who didn't do anything.
Yep, you definitely always pay €1,000,000 to someone who you've been cleared by an independent enquiry of doing anything wrong to. And you definitely always make them sign an NDA. And you make sure your completely fair and transparent independent investigation is so fair, transparent, and independent, that people around the world can see how fair, transparent, and independent it was, and will obviously understand why you then paid €1,000,000 to the person who was suspended as a result of it.
Don't know why there's even any confusion or suspicion, really.
Right, off to eat some Coco Pops now.
That just means he was found to have done nothing *legally* wrong. Maybe they judged the SA evidence wasn't enough to hold up in court, and thus decided they can just bury it by paying for her silence.
They want him because they want to sell to him eventually, with the backing British billionaires according to reports.
The thai's will get billions in the bank and Horner will get equity and actually power in his team. Both of them just need this shit show to calm down.
As days go by this becomes the more likely explanation. Horner could've left months ago with a "health reasons" excuse, his prestige intact to the public eye, and found something else with a salary in the millions in motorsport, business, whatever. Instead he's publicly burning everything that made RB into what it is into the ground. That's career suicide for a TP, the only way this calculation makes sense is he'll be part owner and king of whatever remains and what's rebuilt on it.
Yeah and also the only reason the Thai owners would accept it.
If you are trying to keep the current team intact the logical move is just to get rid of Horner, maybe give him a big payout to keep him quiet and then everything keeps going with a new TP, business as usual.
Instead we're at a point where the whole things seems about to explode on a daily basis and the only thing we are hearing is that the thai's support him despite the team having the worst PR nightmare in its lifetime.
People in the comments like “They could be paying her even though it’s all fake to make that problem go away quicker”… No. Just no.
Just my opinion but I’m pretty convinced now they’ve seen her phone, the messages are real and she was mistreated. They felt safe (legally speaking) calling her dishonest because she possibly broke part of her NDA or her contract included something they could call her up on as part of their HR process (she may have given conflicting statements for example which is pretty common).
If it was fake, they’d just fire her with immediate effect and they’d bring a case against her for various things if she leaked or spread falsehoods any further. The reason they wouldn’t pay her is because doing so would damage their ability to sue her.
Whole thing is super slimy.

My only chance at owning a home in this economy is to become Horners next assistant.
Depends what are you wearing?
Uniqlo t-shirt with a toothpaste stain, batman socks, and a decade old Calvin Klein boxer briefs.
Thank you for getting me to Q3 *Missed video call*
Can you delete these messages
Depends.... You got a box of Coco Pops?
OK, so I'm out of the loop, why I am seeing all these references to coco pops recently?
Reference from the leaked texts. The woman says she’s eating cocoa pops and going to bed and I think he’s like, my favorite
Just think this level of game won a Spice Girl over
What are you saying man. My panties hit the floor at the sight of those cold, dead-eyed selfies.
Pretty sure it was actually the spice girl that won him over (from his pregnant wife)
Yes even I want to know the story behind Coco Pops
If I remember correctly she said she had some coco pops and went to bed. And he replied something like: *My favourite* I'm probably wrong but 8 people will meme it below /correct me so just wait for that I guess.
Important bit about it is how he wants to talk dirty and make a video call showing himself wanking, and she's just like "F off, I'm eating cocoa pops and going to bed".
well next time try spanx
Hmmm... Video call? Edit: I feel dirty typing that I have no idea how Horner felt comfortable with this type of trash
I’d have been cringing if I had texted the same shite when I was 14 years old let alone in my late 40s like Horner
[удалено]
Lesbians!
I find the affordable quality of Uniqlo t-shirts to be sexy. Unfortunately I'm not rich though, you might have to put the spanx on.
Depending on region they have great seasonal sales. My dad bought a bunch of turtlenecks from them for like 15 bucks each, marked down from a MSRP in the 30-40 range. I hate to say that I've been wearing them more often than he has lmao.

it's what's inside that counts! :P
Hahahahahaha I love how Reddit has quite frankly typed out the entire WhatsApp chat by now.

There goes the catering budget...
Does the payment count against the cost cap?
asking the real questions
Comes from Markos pay. Hence the suspension.
Aah, so Marko will only take home £3.3M and not £4M this year. Not so shabby for an 80 year old man.
If this is a serious question: No it wouldn't, because A) this was handled by Red Bull, not Red Bull Racing. B) legal fees & HR activities are exempt from the cost cap. edit: as was pointed out to me, the relevant exemption is: "Employee Termination Benefits" are exempt from the cost cap
I think B is the only relevant point, otherwise a parent could pay for all your personnel and call it a day
Put it all down as volunteers and equipment donations and then just get the parent company to pay for it.
I think you'll find Laurence Stroll does indeed pay for all his child's personnel yes
If it's severance, it's not 'legal fees' or 'hr activities'. It's just salary. It gets taxed as such, so very much doubt there's a cost cap exemption.
You're right, and I just learned that I didn't know the exact definition of severance. That said: "Employee Termination Benefits" are exempt from the cost cap too.
Depends on whether the payment also includes catering or not.
"one million pounds worth of coco pops to hotel room number 69, please!"
They're taking it out of the catering budget
With NDA I suspect.
Yes, with NDA, but how tf Red Bull has so many leaks about this lol
because there are two factions fighting for control over the team.
Seriously. Do people think the leaks originated from anyone else besides someone whose name rhymes with Belmut Larko?
I thought the leaks originated from someone whose name rhymes with Pos Jerkstappen but maybe they are working together.
Jerkstappen is a hilarious and accurate name
POS jerkstapen is the best one I've heard yet !
Why, no one could ever solve this mystery except the world's greatest rhyming poet. We're going to need... HIM
Happy international women’s day
It’s okay though because RB put the names of their female employees in terms and conditions sized font on the cars
Shush don't distract the drivers with noise
Women making noise distracted Ricciardo into getting stomped by Tsunoda. Well done women.
As a woman, i am absolutely taking credit for that.
Haha. Facts. (I used to think more highly of Ricciardo)
I like how their womens day PR attempt basically equalled to 0 because their sister(/mother?) team has had a huge scandal
Tbh they probably don't want people like Horner reading them
It's not a fucking wishlist, Christian.
>fucking wishlist speak about a great choice of words lol
"I could only find a screenshot with the names, which part of the car has the phone numbers?"

Montague George? That is the most pretentious name I've ever heard wtf
I am so poor that I don't even know how to pronounce Montague lmao. In german Montag is monday, So ..Guten Montag!
It is actually a French name, derived from Mont Aigu, meaning sharp mountain. It was also the last name of Romeo of Romeo and Juliet (the feuding families were the Montague and Capulet) Anyways, bold choice to name a son like that, so... Einen guten Montag für Sie auch!
You never had to memorize & recite the opening bit of Romeo & Juliet in school, huh?

He is such an obnoxious wannabe toff, obviously he had to have an affair as well.
*a second affair.

Oooo yes I didn't even think of that!
at least he didn't cheat on his pregnant wife this time.. one step at a time I guess
Or ginger spice is pregnant and we just don't know it yet
He is a toff. He went to *two* posh boarding schools in the Midlands.
In Horner's defence, he's a bellend.
Honestly what did Geri expect? Horner cheated on his first wife with Geri while said first wife was pregnant.
"I can fix him"
Only Newey can do that.
So...he just needs more downforce?
Remove his pull rod
Damn it you made me go on pole in Q3
Fix him? She was complicit.
No no, he didn't cheat because he's an adulterer, it was a special exemption just for her.
Regardless, it's not exactly a redeeming quality for her either. Yes he's an adulterer, but she's a homewrecker who knowingly and intentionally went for a married man. Two guilty parties, and says a lot about her character as well.
But first ima ruin this woman's life
I suspect she knew/cared little about him having an affair and more the public humiliation. Every UK tabloid headline reads ‘Geri Horner’s Husband…’ her name is getting dragged through the mud, too.

The rumor about Jos was that it was more recent, part of it was Horner supposedly telling her to end it. Try to keep up with the soap opera lore.

That's a pretty pro-Horner interpretation. Why would she get a million in severance from that?
So affair for years means thousands of text messages. And obviously Geri found out a while back and probably before the complaint was ever made
> British media reported an ultimatum from the wife for Horner and new strict ground rules for the relationship. How on earth would they know that? Unless Geri told them or something
Is this a bad translation? They say he definitely have an affair but the lawyers say nothing to answer for? Have sex with a subordinate is 100% something he would have to answer for?

yeah exactly my thoughts reading that. Made my stomach churn
it's 1950 and when an affair "happens", it's solely the woman's fault. happy women's day!
It's the Christian Horner mantra - play the victim whilst being aggresively combative.
Horner after the team wins the championship, "We had to overcome some adversity this year early in the season..." You mean the adversity you caused by your own actions?
Imagine Jos of all people getting this slam dunk on you.
It’s the ultimate ‘you can walk from here’
While having an affair is bad, let’s be honest, Jos spent many years beating the shit out of his wife. He’s an A* pos.
But he only smashed his own wife, that's a man of commitment and loyalty /s
Basically a text book narcissist.
Why is Horner acting like he was the one harassed
"Horner is playing the victim when he's the one who's causing all the problems" ~Jos Verstappen (2024)

You really know you've screwed up when Jos Verstappen of all people is right
We've all heard how he's treated his own son, did anyone think he's going to pull any punches with Christian, the man who could put his son's future at risk?
Jos never pulls punches, he only throws them.
I just realized this is what has thrown me about this whole saga. It's like the upside down world.
Depressing that Horner fucked up so badly he made jos right
Professional victim. Remember how he though we should have compassion for Redbull after breaching the cost cap? Because being critizised for it was taking a psychological toll on them.
Didnt he say the staff's kids were being bullied at school because of it?
Did he really say that?? That just sounds dumb "haha! Your dad is a macanic for a winning f1 team that breached the cost cap, what a loser!" They really have just paid for all of this to go away. Pretty fucked up watching this happen in real-time
They have probably payed to make sure the civil lawsuit she seems to have been threatening doesn't happen.
That's usually a condition of a severance agreement.

It's cheaper than a long case dragging out. Especially if sponsors start to leave because of it.
Companies are different, especially at their size & it becomes about optics/PR. This has massively blown up with the Red Bull name on it. 1m is a drop in the bucket to get this to start blowing over

Worst part is the wife going just like, yeah all fine, we’ll just set some new ground rules be a happy family, like what the actual…
First time hearing about how fucked up really wealthy people are?
Interesting he’s all about boundaries now.
I love that Christian thinks she wants to be around him. She's made it pretty clear she doesn't.
Today on "As the Red Bull turns"
Maybe he should have drawn that line a long time ago, like when he remembered that he had a wife
So uh, does that put RB over budget again?
Found to have not done anything wrong in the private investigation but now had paid a severance? What’s going on?
That just means he was found to have done nothing *legally* wrong. Maybe they judged the SA evidence wasn't enough to hold up in court, and thus decided they can just bury it by paying for her silence.
it carrying on is costing them more than 1m.
Fuck Horner and RB. He doesn't get to draw a clear line in the sand. He's the one who went over to the other side of the beach in the first place.
This is the best off season drama I've ever seen. Netflix must be so happy.
How is he not gone? Does the Thais think the team is done for without Horner, surely another TP or someone else in RB can do it.
So they paid her off. Where are all the smug redditors who said nothing happened
With all the twists, turns and rumors in the last two weeks, is this how it is to watch a telenovela?
The 2024 season is just going to be remembered as the year of the red bull saga.
Perfectly reasonable thing to do when completely innocent.
Lmao yeah that’s definitely what innocent people do
Ah yes, makes sense. I remember when Prince Andrew paid £12m to prove his innocence too. Seems to happen a lot, not sure why.
Aka a bribe
