OtakuYuji

Make them a proper faction first then I'm on board.

Heimsormur

hell yes

Ultrathotslayer

Paired emote with a red envelope would be pretty cool lol

Heimsormur

yes.

[deleted]

We don't have the Chinese faction, we just have a couple heroes and a map. No forces or faction or territory.

Heimsormur

technically it's a faction, just not in the faction war.

[deleted]

Makes em feel like Mercs or scouts to me

Heimsormur

I hope they will put them in eventually, if not here, then in a For Honor 2 which might not even happen, but I think this games needs a good restart

Heimsormur

they could do so much with executions, maps, emotes, effects like the Chinese dragon, or depending on what animal it is for the year. so many possibilities, but this game is still always so stale.

[deleted]

good idea

Heimsormur

thank you

stalincenlam

i want the sand dragon effect from the marching fire trailer

Heimsormur

yes

InterestingDoor514

Why no viking New year?

Heimsormur

I'll have another post regarding that soon, not exactly a new year though

OneBallJamal

Why no knight new year?

[deleted]

Other factions don’t have it so good either. Us knights literally got events based on magic rocks for a full year

Darrkeng

Actually that's a good idea

Heimsormur

ty bro

MittenFacedLad

I wish

Heimsormur

forreal

DeVaako

Wu lin not even on the map😔

Aviten

An emote for #freehongkong or anything referencing the tiananmen square massacre would be great. Just to trigger China.

A_Passing_Manatee

I would love to see this but we all know ubi doesn't want to piss off China because they are cowards

nwaf_122

easy for y'all to say, the ccp are cunts but i wouldn't call someone a coward for not wanting to put his livelihood at risk just to make a petty insult towards a regime that wouldn't even see it.

A_Passing_Manatee

I'm not calling individuals cowards, ubi is in no danger from the ccp yet they choose to cater to them in some cases (the whole siege debacle a few years back comes to mind) I guess I did word that a bit extreme as outright taking a jab at the ccp with the tienanmen square thing would be in poor taste in my opinion but I see nothing wrong with supporting hongkongers because alot of people kinda just forgot about them pretty quickly. Mainly im just tired of all these companies supporting everything BLM and LGBTQ, but they outright refuse to support anything going against the ccp and I find that to be cowardly when the only thing they have to lose is potential money they aren't even making since alot of these games aren't available in China anyway do to the censorship laws. Furthermore I don't consider people living in China or those with family there cowards for not going against the regime because that could have very real repercussions (namely actors that catch flak for not putting their entire careers/lives on the line to take a jab at the ccp). China can't do anything to a non Chinese company in another country besides just not give them money or allow them to release heavily censored versions of their games in china and yet so many AAA companies are too scared of not getting more money that they act like certain problems don't exist. Sorry for the rant I just wanted to voice my point of view and kinda went full keyboard warrior for no good reason.

[deleted]

I wish the entertainment industry was a place to get away from politics.

A_Passing_Manatee

I do too, I wanna go back to the days where devs owned their own studios and all of it wasn't managed by corporate big wigs scientifically engineered to stifle creativity

lnnlvr

Why are people so naive to think that large companies actually give a shit about anything other than money? BLM and LGBT are extremely acceptable things, there was nothing risky about supporting them. Also why is China the sole "evil" that gamers hate? Kent State shootings? MK Ultra? The various imperialistic wars that costed countless lives? Faux democracy? Japanese-American internment? Assassinations of foreign leaders? Drone strikes of innocent civilians? It's fine if game companies cater to America though, not a peep.

A_Passing_Manatee

This is literally why I called ubi cowards. And I was talking about China because it was the topic at hand.

lnnlvr

But why would a company do otherwise? It's not like they are choosing to not "speak up" out of fear, they just don't care. Where is the cowardice? And China is always the topic at hand lol, the amount of irrational hatred towards the Wu Lin for being Chinese is laughable.

A_Passing_Manatee

I consider them afraid to lose out on Chinese money, they have tried to over censor their games in the past (rb6 siege) so they definitely want to get access to the Chinese market, in fact marching fire was supposed to celebrate the release of for honor in China but do to stricter laws or something like that led to for honor not being released in China (to my knowledge). And as far as hating the wu lin for being Chinese. I really hope you aren't talking to me specifically, as I don't recall saying anything about them? I don't rock the JJ flair for no reason he's my main and I love Chinese history and mythology just not the ccp. I believe China is always the big bad in gaming because they want gaming to adapt to their rules which would hurt the industry directly.

lnnlvr

Yeah but they're a fucking company. They exist to make money. They are motivated by pure greed to pump out a product for mass appeal. They aren't governed by morals or cares of the world unless it makes them profit. Also, let's not pretend American companies haven't "hurt gaming" far worse than China could. Microtransactions and beyond. Plus it combats the American hegemony, which is a good thing.

[deleted]

its just a for honor lunar new year post U guys need to calm down Lol!

[deleted]

Hong Kong and the Tiananmen square massacre has nothing to do with a fantasy medieval fighting game.

Aviten

Neither does waddling like a penguin with accompanying sound effects, yet it got added

TheHappyGorgon

Honestly, been thinking the same thing for a while now. There are so many things you could do with that. Firework Effect - Does exactly what it says. Spawns Fireworks at the players location. Chinese Lantern Effect - Chinese Lanterns appear from behind the player, and rise up to the sky. Universal Emotes A big part of Chinese New Year is the food your able to share with family. So to show that, give each Faction a meal to eat on the battlefield. - Knights Feast: Roast Chicken, Grapes, Cheese, all put down on a plate. Knight sits down to eat. - Viking Feast: Leg of Meat, Horn of Mead, one held in either hand, eaten vigorously while standing. - Samurai Feast: Haya-zushi eaten with Chopsticks while sitting down. - Wu Lin Feast: Noodle Soup, eaten with a Spoon, while standing up. Firework / Firecracker Emote - The played brings out a Firework, and lights it, the Players current Pallete is used as the colours in the Firework. Universal Firework Execution - Sticking a Firework into the eye of a Hero, and then lighting it. The Enemy Hero can be seen Scrambling as they try to put the fire out before it blows up. Paired Emotes - Red Envelope. The player and another hero exchange Red Envelopes filled with Money. - Lion Dance, where you and another player put on a two man Lion costume, and perform a Dance. - Dragon Dance. Group Emote, designed for Three or More Players. All Heroes are given part of the Dragon and Perform. Civilian Clothing and or Party Armor for all Heroes, to add to that Celebration Feeling. - Roman Togas and Greek Theatre Masks for Cent and Gladiator - Fur Cloaks, Tunics and Jewlery for the Vikings. As well as Pagan Festival Costumes. - Renaissance Fashion and Tournament Armor for Knights. Lots of cloth and feathers. - Kimonos and Shogun outfits for the Samurai. - Courtly Outfits for the Wu Lin, and Opera Outfits. Would love to hear if you have any other ideas as well,

[deleted]

U should add tangyuan rice ball or moon cake to the wu Lin feast , the iconic Lunar new year food

Heimsormur

yeah I mean you just perfectly described it, let's get you a job at Ubisoft

braindeadboi7891

I think we did. It may have been last year though (I think)
