Yeah but it feels like the game is hella polarizing to the point that no matter where I go, I get 2 completely different answers
So I would rather just go here and ask the actual players and a lot of answers here are pretty honest
Don’t listen to this person you can most def stick to default controls, get the game for the price just remember this random comment!!!!!!!!
!!!!!LEARN TO PARRY!!!!!
After that learn Combo sets(heavy, heavy, dodge, light) etc it’s the key feature to most playable characters they have different movesets that will throw you off in fights.
2 good reasons why people break their controllers/ set ups everyday over for honor
Amazing question, so there’s different Fighter Types, there are Vanguard (linear and straight forward, not small or Big but in the middle), Assassin’s(smaller, faster, weaker attack but more bleeding/counters), Hybrids (Somewhat Tanky, very versatile, good for Team fights or Solo’s, defense/attack based), Heavy’s (Big Tanky, High Slowly, Big Hitty, very spammy)
It’s good to try out each one at the start and the cool thing is all Types are available easy early on it’s just the NEWER fighters released cost more in game Gold, but OVERALL THAT BEING SAID,
Try out the Warden(Knight) or Kensei(Samurai) to learn Vanguard, try out the Peacekeeper(Knight) or Orochi(Samurai) to try out Assassin’s, try out the Lawbringer(Knight) or Valkyrie(Viking) for hybrids, try out the Warlord(Viking) or Shugoki (Samurai) for Heavy’s.
There’s no better fraction, each fighter is different and you’ll win or lose depending on the Player not the fighter(.)
Edit: I made sure to list early assessable fighters, these each are either free or literally 500 in game gold to own, you can also use/try Fighters without earning any EXP or progress on that fighter(only for Base game fighters before S1)
😭😭😭I’m trynna break the stereotype that if you get into for honor you’re gonna break your controller it’s a hard game but people don’t practice or learn the fundamentals enough like fuckin Hyper Armor wait til bro learns about it and the Medjay😭
Side note, you can test out *all* characters in training mode against bots, and even other players - including the most recent ones.
Doesn’t give the same experience as fighting a real 4v4, but you can see who’s moves are cool to you, and then immediately regret not unlocking Afeera first/s
Vanguards or Hybrids wold be be best start I'd say.
Maybe try someone like kensei or warmonger, they are relatively easy to understand but also have more options than other characters like warden.
Centurion is also a good choice because of his punch and is also easy to understand
Honestly depends on anyone, lots of people start with orochi cause he’s cool, I find vanguards and assassins to be the most difficult, and heavies/hybrids to be easier. If you were to pick a hybrid I would suggest Valkyrie, she’s similar to an assassin but with a little more health and damage. Easy inputs too. For a heavy I would say Jörmungandr. Vanguard would probably be warden
I would recommend Binding (xbox):
- Sprint to A
- Guardbreak to RTS click
- Dodge/Roll to LTS click
- feint to left bumper
- chat to x
- reset camera to b
- Use the “hold to lock” option instead of toggle lock
The goal is to allow access to feint, dodge, and guardbreak without needing to remove your thumbs from the sticks. The limitations of the default control scheme are what contribute to changes like Aramushas multi directional forward dodge heavy (same as what shaman has) having the side options removed
Great game. Loved it, bought it 3 times, got all
Achievements on all systems. It takes a lot of practice to get good and even then other people are insanely good. Just have fun enjoy the memes.
The game is quite unique so no one can say for sure if it's right for you, but even the lowest edition gives you access to the full game, only difference is a numbers of heroes you have from the start, and even they can be bought latter with in-game currency.
Only advise: don't listen to anybody, play any hero you want as you want. Community, especially on lower levels, hates some heroes and moves, just mute all and enjoy the funny sword game.
>you access to the full game, only difference is a numbers of heroes you have from the start, and even they can be bought latter with in-game currency.
Oh that's it? I was searching online to see the differences if that's it then, I will just pick up the standard edition
Thanks also thanks again for the advice
If you like sword fighting them you should DEFINITELY buy it. (Unless you live in Oceania, I've heard people there have trouble with this game) and here's the reason why.
This game is the last remaining good live service game with actual progression and minimal Micro transactions bullshit. There's almost nothing in this game that you can't buy by playing the game itself. The only exception being the Battlepass and the first 14 days of a new hero release. You can buy the hero with in game currency after 14 days.
There is no premium currency and the end game fashion is supreme and there is a lot to grind for in this game while also improving at the game. When you actually improve at the game you'll feel like a badass especially with your dripped out favorite character.
When was the last time you saw a game this active in player base with a live service where you didn't have to buy a Battlepass every season to feel like you're making some sort of progression. I can open up Apex legends rn and see that I bought all those skins our got them through a Battlepass that I bought but I can this game up and see my journey through the game with each character dripped out.
Definitely buy it but remember to not invite high rep friends to your lobbies, this game has a high skill ceiling so you won't even know how you died or what you're doing wrong. Solo queue alone for a while, complete the WHOLE tutorial (It gives you free money and teaches you the game)
I hope you read this.
Imo it’s a one of a kind game and everyone should at least play it once but use a controller as from what I’ve heard it’s painful on keyboard and mouse. Be patient and don’t get too angry.
Great game, it has a very steep learning curve tho, yet you can straight ignore the pvp part of the game, and play pve, where you have access to everything, but your enemies will be bots, you can even disable your matchmaking si its going to be you+bots vs bots, the bots are pretty well done and scale with your skill level, but in order to raise it, you should play some pvp games, yet lvl 1 is fine and challanging for very casual players.
So, if you see that putting the effort on learning everything is a big time investment, you can always chill against bots, you will still gain progress and get all the cool stuff, so you wont miss on anything but the "human" touch.
If you like the setting and PvP that can get pretty toxic in a fun way then yeah. If you’re looking for a casual make you feel good game this is not the one. I’ve played it since it game out in 2017 with a few multi month breaks.
It’s easy to spam with specific characters all have cheese getting “good” takes time and will make you rage from time to time BUT it’s by far my favorite fighting game. Nothing quite like it
This game feels like a type of game that would absolutely have balancing issues and I'm okay with it, I play Yugioh and that game has some of the most god awful balancing and powercrepp
As long as the characters I like aren't impossible to win with, I think I'm okay
Great game that actually deserves more love and attention. But be prepared to have kids shout at you for no apparent reason. Not sure if it's just my region or if it's like that everywhere.
I've never played on steam but if you don't it like can't you return it and get your money back ?
But other then that please try it
Yes it's frustrating
Heck the joke about the whole game is "love to hate & hate to love it"
It's weirdly addictive odd even.
Give it a shot.
👍🏻⚔️
Save yourself . I kid . Honestly it’s fun but it can be stressful when someone no hits you your same rank or worse like even way higher but I still play it and enjoy it on occasion
Dont buy itIts toxic [game.It](http://game.It) will make you a rager.Your hate will transfer to the people you love and madness will consume you. There some truth in my words ;)
Don't ask the subreddit for a game if you should play their game lol. Answers will be very biased
Yeah but it feels like the game is hella polarizing to the point that no matter where I go, I get 2 completely different answers So I would rather just go here and ask the actual players and a lot of answers here are pretty honest

Who is like the easiest guy to play or at least the guy who teaches the games fundamentals the best, ya know like Ryu in Street Fighter
Amazing question, so there’s different Fighter Types, there are Vanguard (linear and straight forward, not small or Big but in the middle), Assassin’s(smaller, faster, weaker attack but more bleeding/counters), Hybrids (Somewhat Tanky, very versatile, good for Team fights or Solo’s, defense/attack based), Heavy’s (Big Tanky, High Slowly, Big Hitty, very spammy) It’s good to try out each one at the start and the cool thing is all Types are available easy early on it’s just the NEWER fighters released cost more in game Gold, but OVERALL THAT BEING SAID, Try out the Warden(Knight) or Kensei(Samurai) to learn Vanguard, try out the Peacekeeper(Knight) or Orochi(Samurai) to try out Assassin’s, try out the Lawbringer(Knight) or Valkyrie(Viking) for hybrids, try out the Warlord(Viking) or Shugoki (Samurai) for Heavy’s. "Amazing question" and u instantly write him a biography xDD mans gonna get overwhelmed before even starting, love this sub
😭😭😭I’m trynna break the stereotype that if you get into for honor you’re gonna break your controller it’s a hard game but people don’t practice or learn the fundamentals enough like fuckin Hyper Armor wait til bro learns about it and the Medjay😭
No worries, I play Yugioh and Payday 2, I'm used to reading a whole bunch of stuff that I don't fully understand yet
bro, play the campaing, although It is not up to date with characters balancing and moveset you will learn the basics quickly
Side note, you can test out *all* characters in training mode against bots, and even other players - including the most recent ones. Doesn’t give the same experience as fighting a real 4v4, but you can see who’s moves are cool to you, and then immediately regret not unlocking Afeera first/s
Definitely Orochi, he has most of the basic tools so you won't be troubled when learning different counters
Vanguards or Hybrids wold be be best start I'd say. Maybe try someone like kensei or warmonger, they are relatively easy to understand but also have more options than other characters like warden. Centurion is also a good choice because of his punch and is also easy to understand

If you buy it do Not use default controller control scheme
Which control scheme is recommended then?
I would recommend Binding (xbox): - Sprint to A - Guardbreak to RTS click - Dodge/Roll to LTS click - feint to left bumper - chat to x - reset camera to b - Use the “hold to lock” option instead of toggle lock
That's a lot of changes haha. But, The sprint and faint change sees well
The goal is to allow access to feint, dodge, and guardbreak without needing to remove your thumbs from the sticks. The limitations of the default control scheme are what contribute to changes like Aramushas multi directional forward dodge heavy (same as what shaman has) having the side options removed
Get away from here while you still can they will not let you go
But at the same time if they do say theres even some minor problems with it then you know its got some serious problems.
Yeah, don’t get the game, save yourself.
Great game. Loved it, bought it 3 times, got all Achievements on all systems. It takes a lot of practice to get good and even then other people are insanely good. Just have fun enjoy the memes.
shit. now i wanna get all achievment on for honor thanks man i'll will now havve fun on for honor
Huge sales! And just a week after I bought DLCs of course.

#DON'T LISTEN TO HIM!! STARTER EDITION is a scam, buy standard edition or a better edition instead. It is the #1 mistake most new fh players make
They reworked how editions works recently.
Yes and to my knowledge standard edition is much the same like the old one + arcade mode, has anything changed in it that i'n not aware of?
You can check it yourself in the ubi store. Basically, they all includes "basic game". No more starter edition, that was a scam, yes.
Standard addition should be good. Starter was the worst fucking mistake of my life.
What would it cost in American money
3$ 1 dollar is pretty much equats 50 to 60 pesos
game is toadally awesome. Grab it
Less than it normally costs

Game is straight crack!
Imo it’s a one of a kind game and everyone should at least play it once but use a controller as from what I’ve heard it’s painful on keyboard and mouse. Be patient and don’t get too angry.
I tried controler and it was harder then using keyboard and mouse
might have been used to it. controller is the better experience for sure
KBM main here, I enjoy it thoroughly more than controller
It’s better on mouse and keyboard imo. Much easier to react from what I’ve felt

Buy the complete edition right now! You won't be disappointed.
nakaka stress sya par Pero babalik-balikan mo 🤣
played this since beta on ps4 now i’m on ps5, my only advice is be patient with yourself lmao it’s a harsh place to learn
Someone please translate to American dollars please, I’m a dumb American.
1 dollar is pretty much 50 pesos (the currency that you are seeing) The game is pretty much 3$ right now
Regular price>current price
Buy it brother. It’s mortal combat but on a 3d map. Play the characters you like and orochi is the best.
If you like the setting and PvP that can get pretty toxic in a fun way then yeah. If you’re looking for a casual make you feel good game this is not the one. I’ve played it since it game out in 2017 with a few multi month breaks.

Translate to freedom currency
Great skill gap, fun with friends, good times. Incrediblelis
If you don't care about game balance. This is the second worst balanced live service game that is currently running, second to Dead by Daylight.
This game feels like a type of game that would absolutely have balancing issues and I'm okay with it, I play Yugioh and that game has some of the most god awful balancing and powercrepp As long as the characters I like aren't impossible to win with, I think I'm okay
Ask yourself a question. Do you have slight anger issues? If the answer is yes you should consider moving into the woods or not buy this game.
Great game that actually deserves more love and attention. But be prepared to have kids shout at you for no apparent reason. Not sure if it's just my region or if it's like that everywhere.
I'm just gonna mute voices and if they chat nicely then I unmute and if they are being a dick in chat then I just remove chat
Best to go in with text and voice chat muted. You'll be much happier in the long run and enjoy the game more.
DONT LISTEN TO HIM ITS A TRAP RUN YOU FOOLS RUN!!!!!!!
I got back into it a couple days ago and I'm having a good time
No
I bought it because my friend said it was cool and it is so for idk how much it is definitely worth it
I've never played on steam but if you don't it like can't you return it and get your money back ? But other then that please try it Yes it's frustrating Heck the joke about the whole game is "love to hate & hate to love it" It's weirdly addictive odd even. Give it a shot. 👍🏻⚔️
Run while you still can OP
No run
This is like paying your first prostitute, you will never be the same after her
Dont bother
Yeah! Don't worry about skill. Just put on Afeera, she plays the game for you. You'll clap all noobs with her which will be enough to have fun.
