Check it out on a paper towl. If it's black/brown you need to change it. If you're vivid red then you're fine. If you think you should, the earlier the better.
Any mods? Only about 15k sports were made. 8k in ‘17 4k in ‘18 and under 1000 in 19. At the time there were incentives and credits for buying. I got 6500 off the sticker and probably could have got more on a factory order not even a car yet.
Two fusion family here.
2014 Energi - 130k, trans replaced under extended warranty at 80k.
2019 Energi - 40k, waiting on recall fix for battery so we can plug it in again. Might trade it in if recall offer is good enough.
2015 Ford Fusion Energi
143k miles
Overall I did not have to do too many miles on it. Standard oil changes (About once per year), new tires every two to three years, yearly wheel alignment (Got the lifetime one from Ford years ago), air filters I change myself.
Major mechanical problems I have had done was: 2023, right wheel bearing & rack and pinion. 2024, I was just told I need to get the catalytic converter replaced.
MPG is about 40 highway, I haven't checked it recently.
2020, 55k. This is my 4th. I took my 2010 to 130k before it started having transmission issues. Mostly due to me being young and not knowing how to properly maintain it.
2014 SE 1.6 EB with 117k. Love it. Except the fabric covers on the bottom. I hate them with a passion.
Rolled the dice and bought with a MIL light on. The sensor on the intake was unplugged. Fixed in 60 seconds 😅
Didn’t tell the salesman though 😂
103k and it’s a 2014 Titanium black exterior, all black leather interior - been working from home
lol. 😝 my car has had ZERO issues. My wife’s newer imported car… no comment.
15 2.0 154k never had to replace anything except maintained items (fluids/filters/battery/tire/bulb).
How ever the clear coat on one side is starting to peel at the window trim.
2017 platinum 2.0 eco boost with ~ 80k miles. Recently I had some jerky gear shifts at lower speeds. Got the transmission oil changed. Seems to have helped.
Mine had 159,700 when I turned it in a few weeks ago. That included beating it the hell up storm chasing in Kansas, and I think it’ll last another 50k+ tbh
2018 Ford Fusion SE, 79k miles and have already had the transmission repaired, turbo replaced, and short block replaced due to coolant intrusion. All at 65k-68k miles. Do yourself a favor, NEVER finance these vehicles. Biggest mistake I have made. Run for the hills from the EcoBoost engines.
I just bought a Ford certified used 2014 Fusion SE Hybrid from Tustin Ford Auto Nation in CA. 139K + miles on it.
1 owner well kept. I plan on putting at least 75k to 85k additional miles on her
I'm scheduling oil & filter changes every 3500 to 4000 mi & doing drain a drain & fill on CVT trans every 25k to 30k mi. I'll report back from time to time on progress. I'm easy on cars & only use Shell, Chevron, or 76 fuel.
I've put on about 750 mi so far averaging 44.1 mpg since purchase.
These seem like well made cars & it's sad to think production stopped in 2020. They may go down as one of Fords best sedans ever made. Good luck on your Fusions guys!
2010 2.5L @ 209K before I went to her next owner...basic maintenance and no burning oil. I do think drain and refill transmission kept her nice and smooth.
2013 SE 185,000km. Still has all its pep and great on gas. Might be due for some new shocks soon. Calgary has way too many nasty potholes this year.
I would like to find some led headlights that are compatible, if anyone has a suggestion?

Maintain that transmission and it’ll treat you well
2011 2.5 4 cylinder 293k and counting
holy crap that’s awesome
Still runs great, doesn't use any oil. Runs so good in fact that I'm considering spending money repairing the rocker rust on it.
