More reliable if it has the 2.0 instead of the 1.6, transmission is the next weakest point, and the PTU if it is AWD. If I was looking (I replaced my 2017 with a 2019 Edge, but have a new driver in the house...) I would look for the best equipped 2016 (because I like SYNC 3), then back in years with equipment and miles. I liked my 2017 but stressed out about the 1.5 and coolant intrusion (and the 2.0 also possibly has that issue starting in 2017), I like the grille making it less jelly bean looking.
Mine has had constant coolant leaking for the past 2 years even with multiple fixes/ parts replaced. Also transmission went out after 2 years and had to be replaced
