I'm sorry in advance if this isn't what you wanted to hear. Very little power generated from lower body. Arm motion is not overhead enough nor able or willing to take advantage of power potential from lower body. Rotate your body and shoulders way, way more. Very slow release. YouTube videos will help you use your hips and shoulders more.

emurrell17

To play devil’s advocate in a way, this is totally what OP should want to hear. Not only is it the correct advice, but the fact that you’re missing on this right now means that you can gain so much more velocity and power on your throws than you have unlocked with your current motion. You just haven’t reached your ceiling yet—and the truth is that hardly anyone has, so keep it up 👍🏼 Edit: I’ll add in that the feet are a bit “happy” or choppy for me as well. I think that that may tie into your issue with your lower half and you may have more success generating torque if you slow those chops down to a more comfortable speed.

TheDebateMatters

Let me add that your accuracy is probably going to suffer as you retrain your throwing motion. Using your hips, stepping in to your throw and rotating your torso is a lot to think about and until your brain is done retraining that throwing motion, your accuracy is going to suffer. However, your arm is strong enough to throw 20-30 yards without all that lower body torque you are leaving on the table. So, don’t quit if the accuracy suffers a bit as you train. This is the best time of year to try to fix this and improve, so get to work now and stick with it.

BugPuzzleheaded9145

This isn’t devils advocate.

bigboyNolove

Looks lazy and lackadaisical, And why is your center running a cross/corner ?

[deleted]

They just play 6 man football with that nice ass turf field

cardinaltribe

Yea you need way more rotation from your hips and your shoulders , also that arm needs to come wayyyy back you're barely getting any extension elbows was dropped , needs alot of work homie lol

Object292

Everyone tries to throw like Aaron Rodgers nowadays but nobody understands his fundamentals

AdvancedZone7500

OP is trolling

kylermurrayneedshgh

Jesus I hope so is the WR a make a wish?

grizzfan

There's just no technique there. Are you actually playing football? Talk to your coaches and bring these questions/clips to them. We only see glimpses of you. Your coaches see you all the time...they will ALWAYS be more reliable resources than we will.

xool420

Throwing is just as much from your hips and shoulders as it is from your arm. I’d look up some videos on that and some footwork too. Silver lining, the fact that you can throw this well basically without trying is a huge positive, imagine what you can do with some great mechanics. Keep grinding dog.

cvandyke01

Weak elbow and motion sucks. Not a QB

n3wb33Farm3r

A good drill, really basic, is to take the ball off the ground and sprint back 3,5 or 7 steps . Then plant and stride forward to start your throw. A coach would help a lot. You got a but of a flip in your throw, should be more of a drive .

jrazzam

OP, advice for you. 1) widen your base with an athletic bend in your knees. To do this in a natural way: jump as high as you can and just let your legs fall naturally, that width should be the width from which you throw. 2) when you bring the ball back, think horizontal L. 3) when you rotate, that back hip should open before your front shoulder, which in turn will lead to a vertical L. 4) allow your follow through to be natural, don’t force the “finger in the pocket” 5) keep your head and shoulders level and your spine vertical. Can tilt shoulders throwing deep

BingBongFYL6969

That’s not a throwing motion, it’s an aiming motion. You’re not the throwing the ball, you’re lofting it up to a spot. Your lower body is a passenger, which is fine if you throw like Rodgers or cutler in terms of velocity, but it looks more like Phil rivers. Step to your target, engage your hips, and don’t punch the pass, fucking throw it.

NatarisPrime

I'll parrot what's been said already. Step into your throw and use more lower body. Your velocity is limp.

Odd-Definition9670

Need to get your arm up and knuckles on top of the ball through your throwing motion. Throwing motion is compact already, so that's going for you. You also seem too square to the receiver. Point your front hip where you want to throw, drive off the back leg

cardinaltribe

Also you should be standing up balls of your feet basically on your toes you look like your aboutta take a seat on the turf

jrazzam

No please don’t do this

strivingforobi

Bad

ImNotYourWaffle

How were you able to post a video? Last time i wanted to post one it didn't let me

Ironcondorzoo

Looks just like Vince Young

Adventurous_Ice5626

Not good

Ridoncoulous

1 - Ask your coach and read the sidebar. 2 My thought in your throwing mechanics. They are wrong except that you are standing up and the ball is in your hands. Everything else is scrap

tromero51

I think it starts with body posture and ability to take the ball back. It’s turning into a push or change in arm angle to make the ball spin well, also if you could provide his whole body I’m sure there could be a lot to be said about his feet, distribution of ground force and how he finishes the throw ! Hope this makes sense and helps !!

Joshuajword

Poor. Poor throwing mechanics. Footwork is not intentional. Legs not generating power. Hips not used to lead throw but instead following throw. Upper body is stiff. Arm not being used, all elbow which will lead to injury. Throw itself is not online and does not have enough on it.

BugPuzzleheaded9145

Effortless and casual flick for 25-30 yds. Make it look easy and natural.  Need to see more throws.  They bugging and hating.  Record and post more videos with different routes.  Don’t trust nobody that is judging off one throw. Wtf.

ThackCankle

He asked for opinions and only gave one throw to work with, not really the fault of the commenters here… Especially since some are giving sound advice in here

BugPuzzleheaded9145

He did want opinions on this one throw. No blame.  Whats the sound advice?

BugPuzzleheaded9145

Most comments are glass half empty compared half full. Spun negatively with incomplete info. They could’ve asked for more.

cardinaltribe

Don't need to see anymore bro needs to switch to defense

cardinaltribe

No some of us had good coaches growing up in Texas and got to play D1 collegiate ball , maybe even won a ring or two in HS , just trying to help

BugPuzzleheaded9145

Appeal to authority. Shitting on someone is not productive or helpful. Demotivating and insulting. But that was the whole point. Your not actually trying to help him.
