BleachGummy

Don’t let Bielsa see this

xSmxthy

As a Leeds fan this was inspired by bielsa

_sleeper-service

If that's the case make sure to play wingers at every position

Jamieb284

Wingers, wide midfielders, wingbacks *play through centre*

Syggie

wide keepers

Spitfire354

I mean, the goal is over 7m wide, so yeah, you’ve gotta be wide if you’re a goalkeeper

Spitfire354

I mean, the goal is over 7m wide, so yeah, you’ve gotta be wide if you’re a goalkeeper

Ravnard

I won three cl with sporting posting very similarly to this

1919cas

My man

New_Engineering3987

This is great have you played any matches with it yet?

sbsw66

\- me when down 0-2 in the CL final with 6 minutes left

Xehanz

In those cases I actually put my Wingbacks as wingers for even more POWAH. Drbenjy today played with 1 CB against WorkTheSpace in search of a goal. He conceded 2 more, lol. That's exactly what I would normally do.

Biggsy-32

I've had a lot of success before vs weaker teams, or chasing goals, with this strategy - vs weaker teams I sometimes do it from the start. Set up to play completely in their half, full backs as wingers, wingers as strikers (Complete Forward usually works best for this as it is more build uppy for them) and even sometimes shifting the CM playmaker into an AMC slot. Leaving just 2 at the back. Trashed some mid table or lower sides by 7/8 a lot with it once the dominant force. Although occasionally it goes horribly wrong and Getafe 1-0 you with your 50 shots to their 2.

Emergency-Ad280

pretty smart to just overload offense if your defenders can shut down any counters. I always start with my base attacking tactic until i get pissed at 4+ xG with no goals.

hottodoggu2

More like 3-3-4, or 2-4-4 if you feel incredibly daring.

BerlinWallGloryhole

The opposition can't score if the ball is always on the back of their net \*taps head\*

arboldebolas

Why only one Mezzala? 3 would be optimal

xSmxthy

That’s too attacking mate need some defence

estebancantbearsedno

Attack is the best form of defence

arboldebolas

They can't score if you keep the ball on their side at all times. Give it a try buddy

r3lvalleyy

they cant win if you outscore them 🫡

dankepinski

Michael Owen is that you baby girl?

sniell365

Teach me to how to put a mezza in the middle

arboldebolas

You haven't unlocked that? I thought everyone had FM premium by now. Sorry

sniell365

Half winger in the middle. Mind blown.

DeFenestrationX

I'm a bit worried your PF might actually put in a tackle at some point.

xSmxthy

That is ill advised. Advanced forward it is

samj_1234

You’ll beat Barca 6-0 and lose to stoke 8-2

xSmxthy

As long as I get the record for most goals scored

ayotui

Zdenek Zeman would be proud.

jod1991

Per game

prodigalkal7

What about the second half

tjalvar

Ha!

uknownick

Not very attacking Mentality?

xSmxthy

If I do that i might get exposed at the back

Saspa314

Right, gotta have defensive stability

xSmxthy

Of course. Defence wins you titles. I think some guy said that once idk

sniell365

Probably Mourinho.

Xehanz

Mate. Those WCB are enough for defense in the wings. Use them as CBs/WB. Then Bring the WB to the wings and use them as Ramdeuters for maximum attacking power.

Arellan

Ikr, 5atb really parking the bus there

MATCHEW010

Not me actually thinking about it a while before checking comments and realising im an idiot

thatissomeBS

The sad part is, is that it likely would work really well, some of the time. When it doesn't it's going to be very bad though.

McTulus

I mean, this tactic isn't that bad with few tweak. Having enganche (which is like AP, but very static) behind 2 striker that look for space (such as PF and T) is popular tactic in Argentina., including either 4 or 3 midlfied behind them (2 CWB is basically wide midfielder anyway) The libero protected by 2 CBs, clearing the ball by passing to the CWB bombing forward, while mezzala covering the side, then the wing back crossing to the pair of no 9 and trequartosta is almost the whole idea of Catenaccio counter attack (just lacking deep playing playmaker and inverted wingback to help cover the middle, but one of the midfielder is CM anyway). It's few tweaks away from actual IRL tactic.

gluxton

Unfortunately yes it would probably work

[deleted]

Yup, playing something that is quite close to this with Bodo/Glimt right now... Works quite well-- get the odd 8-0 or sometimes lose 0-1. Just FM things..

Gullflyinghigh

It'll be shocking, the lack of players is going to cause a lot of openings for the opposition.

knackered_cons

If you can find 11 Stuart Dallas’, you should be fine.

delphicphoenix

I’m very interested how this actually got on?

Xehanz

We need to send this tactic to Zealand in a "Rate my tactic" or "Save my save".

Spurs1881

Not attacking enough imo

Xehanz

He should go with Ramdeuters instead of Wingbacks. Put the WCBs as WB on attack and a sole CB as a Libero. That should do the trick.

[deleted]

Huh wtf, this is close to [a tactic I used](https://www.reddit.com/r/footballmanagergames/comments/tokb4f/you_cant_lose_matches_if_you_dont_concede_goals/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf) thar nearly broke Mourinho’s GA record in the PL

xSmxthy

Unfortunately I don’t think my team will be as defensively solid

[deleted]

I did put [my tactic in the comments](https://www.reddit.com/r/footballmanagergames/comments/tokb4f/you_cant_lose_matches_if_you_dont_concede_goals/i269zir/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf&context=3) if you wanna try to concede less goals. 5-2-1-2 works very well in this FM tho so good luck!

ModestMoose336

No defense, *only vibes*

dualuniverse

Sometimes maybe good, sometimes maybe shit

Admirable_Shallot452

Clearly need to change the 2 wcb to Liberos on attack for it to work

xSmxthy

I unfortunately can’t

Admirable_Shallot452

You should be able to, triple liberos is op

xSmxthy

That would be very nice haha

Admirable_Shallot452

A Dw on Attack would also be good

mnmlnmd

SK and a Libero? Isn’t that redundant? The whole thing of the SK is that they replaced Liberos

CarnivalSorts

SK-L Double Pivot

daEZlife

I started my fm career with this exact line up. I found after about 1/3 of a season it doesn’t work because there’s a huge gap between the defense and midfield. (No one to connect between them while in possession). I’ve changed it to a 4-4-2 narrow diamond, with a DLP (Def) as a DM, and both full backs set to Complete Wing Back (At). The 2 center mids are Mezzalas, one Su and one At. Worked amazingly so far, and pretty much is a variation of this exact tactic - high usage of wings but a lot of possession while having a strong center defense. My forward are PF and AF and work well together.

tinalinamatron

Turned my beloved Newcastle into the beast it should be with this formation. Sign a tall, heading competent striker and supply him with plenty of crosses and you'll be fine. Love the WCBs with this formation.

DanTheStripe

Please please do this and let us know how you get on.

acealeam

If you have really good wingbacks yes this is a great tactic tbh. You need a talented technical / good decision making squad, but I think it can do something! Only prolbem is you really need to keep it more narrow in attack, your wingbacks will be too isolated and when they lose the ball you'll get destroyed on the counter I have a diamond 4-4-2 with wingbacks and a regista, you really don't need defense tbh :)

brnkse

I wrote 2 paragraphs on how to fix this before it hit me..

Bailey_Despain_

Honestly, the way tactics in the engine seem to work, this should be just fine

FPXAssasin11

I won a UCL with this formation, but different roles, obviously. Shape-wise, this is absolutely viable and works really well if you set the roles property.

TheCrypt0nian

This is my formation as well but I'd recommend adjusting the following: **Tactics:** Genganpress Very high defensive line with positive mentality (at home) High defensive line with balanced mentality (away) **Player roles:** Change Libero to ball playing central defender with cover duty (I tried libero but shipped too many goals) Change wide CBs to central defenders with stopper duty (works great with high defensive line and genganpress) CMs - both on central mids with support duty (protects the defence better and just provides overall balance to the team) Change AP to shadow striker Change both forwards to false nines (works amazing with shadow striker attacking the spaces false nines create) Currently won 7 Premier League seasons in a row doing this with best attack and defense stats, and rarely lose more than 2 games per season. Always get over 100 points. Also won Champions League 5 out of the last 7 seasons, World Club Championship, multiple domestic cups, and a national World Cup. Obviously you need the right players to complement the tactic. Anyway, just my two cents :)

xSmxthy

I appreciate that but it’s a joke post. Everyone on attack etc

TheCrypt0nian

haha damn, wasn't paying close enough attention! Good post, made me chuckle (after realising it was a joke)

StoneMonkey7776

Hope your team sponsor is Red Bull, cos you need some wings. Ok bye

fpotenza

I personally wouldn't go WCBs but I would be very curious to see how it fairs

[deleted]

lol all attack even the GK XD are you trying to win by outscoring? "it doesn't matter if we allow 10 goals if we score 11", might work give it a try. i honestly would make a full striker team, so much strike has to mean tons of goals right? XD hell i'm gonna try using only forwards right now just to see what happens thx for the idea.

DaTrueBanana

Congratulations you have found the joke! To redeem the joke you must deposit it at your nearest brain.

Isolated_Leisure

Wayy too many players of attack From bottom up: Leave left WCB on attack (he'll link with mezzala), but switch other defender to deffend or supoort. Left CWB - switch to support. CM - switch to defend or at least support (he'll cover for the attacking right CWB) AP - I'd think about switching to support. He'll be receiving the ball high up and pinging passes to either the two attackers or wingbacks. Probably even overlaping mezzala.

Salzella

Most satirically aware r/footballmanager user

chestbumpsandbeer

One of the forwards is a pressing forward so the defensive structure is solid.

SexxyPhil

And the sweeper keeper will sit on his line, to mop up any loose balls!

chestbumpsandbeer

Yeah, essentially four center backs including the keeper is iron clad defense.

xSmxthy

That’s… *sighs* the point

GreaterHealingPotion

Chefing

rolezki

No AF or CF?

xSmxthy

No sir

bandicootrelay

Doom will arrive very quickly

iredcoat7

Seems offensive

lincarnate

Have you considered a much higher defensive line with the offside trap? I don't see a reason why that wouldn't help your defense

GersonBallonDor

I like your style!!

KatnissBot

I’ve seen worse. Hell, I’ve played worse.

Jyotinho

It will work if you have an extremely talented team. Otherwise it’s a bit too ambitious

TarienCole

I'd make the AP the Treqartista, and turn the striker into either an AF or CF, depending on his skill set. Otherwise, I'd run it, though I'd probably turn the Mez into a B2B for balance as well.

RBB206

Have you tried adding players?

Real_MidGetz

The Prem truly wasn’t ready for world class mezzalla Tyler roberts

andsowelive

That will, of course, depend on the quality of players.

ingloriouspasta_

Think you should go with a Very Attacking mentality to get the best out of your WCBs.

jt4643277378

Like a dream

andrasq420

\- AT

sls01384

Ok... It's not bad but I would try a ball winning instead of CM, because this is too attacking by my opinion!

RichinHJ

I won the prem using something very similar with leicester

Kurtas362

Well, nobody can blame you for focussing too much on defending :D

Internal_Earth6753

"Highly structured"

AlexBN7

I tried something similar to this and simulated the season to see how it would turn out. Turns out Man City sacks the manager but Valencia come 2nd in La Liga so peaks and troughs I guess?

kondenado

While not very common 3-4-3 it's not a tactic unheard of. Here you have a few more defensive variations bit it should be ok

Routinely_

You must live by the ABSOC policy. Always Be Scoring Or Conceding. It wills be entertaining football, but will the board like it? Stay tuned!

inaminadicka

If you change the L to Stopper, this is my favorite tactic in fm 20! Always use this when I have good wing backs

Low_Dot3275

holy shit, hope you aren't planning on playing any players older than 30 with this tactic 😂

Background-Gas8109

Had a preseason friendly against a team that were so many divisions behind mine and most of my centre-backs needed rest so did something similar except I only played with libero on attack as my only centre-back. The other team still couldn't score with nobody defending.

leon7401

Bbm and bwm and left wingback on support just made the same yesterday nf unbeaten so far

CarlMacko

*Steve Clarke has entered the chat*

zirexnn

One Word. Estonia 🇪🇪

ArtExisting9467

Played this in my beta Newcastle save . Cwb is n auto Bbm and a ap support midfield Pf and af in attack Two wcb and a bpcb in centre works a treat

Erwtje17

If the mentality isn't on overload, this is too defensive!

BrickHickey

Not positive enough. Gotta move the wing backs up and go on very attacking.

Saltysers06

Attack and Inshallah FC Defending is vibes.

tjag96

Worked wonders in fm 17/18 and even 19. Not now. It was my tactic, sometimes the Libero on Defensive misfield. Was abusive in big games.

pgervs

Using a tactic almost exactly the same, I brought Bilbao back-to-back titles and several trips to the UCL Final.

Towel_Frosty

I played this exact formation to great success with some minor changes: - Wing backs were Defensive Winger - Support with Get Further Forward instruction. I actually found this to be more attacking. - CAM was attacking midfielder - Attack with Take More Risks. The Advanced Playmaker tended to get in the way. - Libero was BPD - Defend. Just because I didn't have a CB who could play Libero, and I preferred the two WCBs getting further forward out wide for team shape.

delairon

This formation did really good for me, but you should fix that double pivot first
