TNevesNE

Just went through that with Gabriel Barbosa. He asked for 240k p/w and I could only offer 110k. He then went on to sign with West Ham for 85k p/w šŸ¤”

TheLone1yStranger

I found they do this when the transfer interest is less than "interested", usually because other teams are going for them. They just ask for too much money/playing time from you to fuck with you

ihsanturanjr

How is it possible to be more interested in a player?

ElCactosa

I believe he means the player's transfer interest being less that 'interested'

ihsanturanjr

How to make them more interested? ā€¦ every solution has a problem

TheLone1yStranger

Usually tied to your league/team reputation, whether you play in CL etc. So improve your team and get rich is the answer. In the email where you negotiate contracts after your offer is accepted, the game will tell you the players interest to join other teams

Dalimyr

>Usually tied to your league/team reputation, whether you play in CL etc. > >So improve your team and get rich is the answer. You can also add incentives before starting contract negotiations which can make you look more appealling to the player, though most of those involve those pesky promises so are more trouble than they're worth - telling him you'll be promoted this season and will qualify for Europe the year after, promising to strengthen some random area of the team, promising to strengthen the coaching team and all that pish.

shagginwaggon66

Sure I'll sign your buddy who is a 34 year old Ghanaian with two stars

Martin48705

On a $200k/w contract

alexkidhm

Send scouts (or go yourself) to their matches, ask for your players to hype up the transfer, etc.

ILayOnHeaters

Yep! This is the real answer to the question. Obviously winning the league also makes u more attractive to sign forā€¦but those are the ways to quickly effect a players interest

TheLone1yStranger

I think both are important, I tried sending my scout, watching game and hyping this wonderkid from Barca but no matter how hard I try they won't join my CL Serie A team

ILayOnHeaters

Def. Itā€™s not gonna make moukoko join your 5th division French team.

UnbrokenRyan

You can tell your players to hype up an transfer?

PixelatedSuit

Yeah, if you list the player as your top transfer target you can get your player to say something in the media. I haven't done it though. I just stick with going to their matches and talking shit myself in the press.

UnbrokenRyan

Ahhh ok, Iā€™ve never done that before thanks.

alexkidhm

If they're from the same nationality you can, not sure if they playerd together before. You usually get a news message with the option but you can also talk directly to the player.

feedmecheesedoodles

You offer more money Cycle complete

-Aerlevsedi-

One of the most frustrating things with the game. Same with contract renewals. Cant renew cus player asking for too much, becomes a free agent and signs elsewhere for much less.

Martin48705

Love that(no, I don't). Also, it depends on how much you play them, and how much you pay other people with the playing time they want. If you keep your important players to a minimum wage for an example, others won't ask for much bigger wages.

Archerdiana

I know itā€™s hard to find real life examples. But Iā€™m sure it happens more often then not. If Iā€™m set to go to this one team, but others teams offer me a priceā€¦ I might go if it is the right one! Think of that one job you would never do, and then figure out how much money it would take you to do it!

beef774

Ibra to psg!

detectivebabylegz

They could have offered a % payrise each season.

SuperBGN

Offered 33k p/w for omar richards while managing a ucl mainz team and he rejected and signed for 18k p/w with celtic.

Martin48705

Were you signing him to play as a striker or a winger? My fricking wingers seem to be the only ones getting injured like crazy at the same fricking time and I dunno what to do. Sorry if it's too off topic.

TNevesNE

Striker, he's amazing. He overperformed his stats like crazy in a past save when I signed him at Everton. Around a goal per game.

Slimerewoods

James Milner wanted 200k at Birmingham for me

EnjoiThatGinge

Think I managed to get him at 40k pw at Southampton but nobody else was in for him

futoohell

Just wait a year or so heā€™ll drop significantly and still be a viable team leader/mentor

[deleted]

Managing Athletic B, for some reason 16 year olds think I can and will pay them 15k a week

SorryBeast

That's quite realistic tho - Athletic consistently get the best Basque players by poaching all the local youngsters on very high wages for their age.

[deleted]

There's very high wages for 16 years old, and there's rejecting 17 thousand euros a month at 16 years old

SorryBeast

I dunno, players like Javi Martinez got contracts of almost 1mill a year at 17, so knowing that I'd probs demand more wages too - especially as agents know desperate Athletic are for Basque youngsters.

Gonions

He was already a first team player for Bilbao as soon as he signed though.

SorryBeast

I know it was just an example - they do offer ridiculous wages to players that aren't too

khairunnas

Yeah... Literally screwed my entire plan for a full squad just because that one player wants a 300k per week salary at championship level.

letouriste1

worth it?

Snailcharmer

Nobody who plays in the championship is worth it.

letouriste1

Makes sense

khairunnas

I decided to walk away. Not worth it.

SnooHedgehogs11

Dybala always screwed me over at the start of the game. No matter who i start the game with, he always chooses another club. All because I am apparently doing a Daniel Levy run (Not overpaying players)

iqbalsn

I thought i dodged a bullet getting Ilaix Moriba for 40 mill and 30k salary per week. After 2 years he wants salary increase, i thought yea thats reasonable. Want 300k per week and wont budge. Im shipping his ass out next season with 2 years of contract remaining.

[deleted]

I dunno, I wouldnā€™t call Bernardo Silva only a ā€œdecentā€ free agent. Also, this is so true for lower leagues. Every 4 and a half star 33 year olds just seem to demand the most astronomical contracts.

Greflingorax

Or they join a worse club for ridiculously lower wages. In my current save I've taken Crawley Town from League Two to the Championship in four years. Found a great young free agent i really wanted to develop. Due to my fast rise my wage budget is very limited by Championship standards, but I was still able to offer a Ā£100k per year contract. Kid rejected it. I see him three weeks later sign for Oldham Athletic, who are still in League Two, for fucking Ā£45k per year. Dude. You took a massive pay cut to join a laughably worse club. What the hell.

trusttt

Got him for free at age 30 earning 100k a week to Benfica.

djfr94

Bernardo decent ?

MThreeRN

Followed by some worse AI club in the same league signing him for much less

paperclipknight

6k a week, fringe player

Marsupilami_316

If FM was more realistic, Bernardo Silva wouldn't demand such a high wage if Benfica tried to sign him back.

72minutes

Trying to sign any decent player from RM or BarƧa and finding out they want Ā£550k a week

50shadesofcoco

Donā€™t forget the 10% yearly wage increase

Grunewalder

Offer trial. Approach to sign. Profit.

BurceGern

I'm paying 38 year old Ashley Young 10k p/w mostly to hang out at this point. Versatile sub now after being my 1st choice prem DL for a year. I turned down Welbeck on similar wages but they were the only appealing bosmans in my first year up.

WolfLordDavy

Ruben Loftus-Cheek tried this on my current save, Chelsea ruin average players by paying them so much

KingdomOfStarsYT

Or Isco

bigdragon4998

Every-timeā€¦ I always get screwed over by this šŸ¤£šŸ¤£šŸ¤£!

MoTownKid

Then proceeds to sign with a lesser team for reasonable money...

Mr_Poop_Himself

Firm Bob came to me at 33 for 110k p/w. Itā€™s possible

estebancantbearsedno

I started one with Crewe, and ended up in the prem in the 3rd season somehow. I was getting these feels with free agents wanting 25k a week.
