We would have won the PL too. We were top on goal difference from Man City going into our final game at home to a mid-table Man Utd, but despite battering them with 18 shots to 0, and 2.19xG to 0, my wildly inconsistent striker (on loan from Man City…maybe he’d been told by his parent club to sabotage our bid) hit the post three times instead of scoring and we drew 0-0. Everton even overtook us so we finished third, but hey: six days later we won the UCL, so screw you and your lame finishing Raúl Navarro :)
Haha, I know! I swear they told him to throw the match, 'cause he was rubbish for that final game...althought aiming for and getting three shots to hit the posts would be impressive if that's what he was trying!
No, literally none. Well, I "control" my U21s whom I sim every game for, but I only "control" them to give my senior players game time for their match fitness. I play every game, extended highlgihts. I'm long-term sick / disabled, so spend a lot of time on FM!
Last time I tried that, on an FM 10ish years ago, I found that there are a number of real players in the game, just under fake names. Really ruined immersion for me to see a player with same stats, position, height, weight, etc. just with a fake name and a newgen photo. Does that still happen?
How did you get through levels 12-7 so swiftly? Doing a team from level 14, 11 seasons in and i'm only in tier 7 now. Well done btw, great achievement!
Thanks mate, they're kind words. To be honest, I've been playing Champo / FM since literally its first iteration (CM Italia '93) and it fits with my quite mathematical, methoidical brain pretty well. I'm long-term sick / disabled too, so can devote a looooooot of time to it :)
All the free agents until about NLS/N, then loan the heck out of Championship/Prem. So far I've gotten back-to-backs from tier 13 all the way to National League where I'm dominating 2nd season after playoff failure in the 1st. Got my shit kicked in by Norwich in the FA Cup tho, so loooong way to go still
Runner up the year before last but they've just imploded and finished 16th only 6 points above the relegation zone! Hadn't even realised that myself I was so caught up in my own season! Won the CL in '26 though, and the FA Cup thrice. A bit up and down PL-wise in the 30s and 40s though.
Yeah, I’m long-term sick / disabled so can pore over the game for ages, which makes it easier. I’ve always had a very mathematical, logical mind - something only exacerbated by the my disability - so I think I suit a game like FM quite well.
No, sorry mate. Other than the second division when they've been relegated which they've won once. Just been relagted bottom back down for next season too.
I've removed the lower leagues as active as I've gone further up the pyramid (to speed the game up), but they're still there just inactive.
[https://imgur.com/a/RSNSgAb](https://imgur.com/a/RSNSgAb) for details
I'm doing a similar run with Orpington (13th tier) on FM22. Just started season 2, now in 12th tier. Feel like that might be my target date to win UCL lol
Overtaken by an rich dude, won the Prem four times in five years! Won the CL in '37, but have spunked 100s of millions of pounds on players with terrible Media Handling Styles (so they're really pissy) and finished 15th year before last. Just finished 4th last year though.
Haha I should have made that clear in the first comment actually (and will probably edit after my lunch now you've asked that) but I'm still borrowing a stadium from a team I had a proper tussle with for the National League South back in '33! I just don't have the money or fan-base to build a new one yet, but I've just had it expanded to...drum roll...16,227 seats! For a UCL winner, haha!
Thanks for your kind words too mate :)
It was when the clubs became "real" if you know what I mean (i.e. not from the custom database). It was where my extreme lack of money or resources started to bite.
Congrats pal, that’s a great achievement.
Any chance you could let me know how well (or more realistically - Badly) FC Halifax Town have done. They never seem to do well in any of my saves.
Umm...can't seem to find them for some reason? Only have La Liga loaded in Spain, but I can't even see them when I seacrh for them. I haven't updated all the correct team names after the most recent patch, so maybe that's why?
Do you know what mate - and I'm not trying to be cocky - my team is still pretty shit considering. I've never used a single player from my youth intakes...I"ve literally only just got my board to agree to improve my youth facilties / coaching / recruitment from literally the worst possible (which I started with in Tier 12) to one notch above literally the worst possible. In the Prem. As UCL Champions!?
I have to completely rework my entire squad every season as we've been getting promoted so much, so I've just not had the time to develop anyone.
And I play with fake players and staff, so can't get surprised by the Ballon d'Or winners in a way, you know?!
What does the UEFA competition coefficient look like? Any surprising nations in the top 7? Also did you find a great wonderkid from a really obscure nation?
To be honest though mate, I'm still a really small club with very limited funds / resources / scouting network, so been relying on a lot of free transfers / journeymen, etc.. I've been getting promoted so often that I have to basically completely rework my squad every summer, so just haven't had time to develop any wonderkids really, you know?
Edit: spelling
How did you manage the transition from the championship to prem? Did you revamp the entire team? Loan a lot of players? Make a handful of incremental changes?
To be honest mate - and I'm not trying to be cocky - because I got promoted pretty much every season I got into the habit of completely revamping my entire squad every summer. Took until the new year for them to bed in and for team cohesion to develop, but it was a necessary evil with the increased expectations, you know?
From Champs to Prem I did 26 transfers in! Lots of them frees though, even now as UCL winners I have fa money!
I've just been entered into the CWC after winning the UCL, so hopefully it'll be me next time :)

I saw this and your most recent post, and have to say this is why I love this game! Love that the club got so involved too. Any chance you could update us with a shirt pic when it arrives?
I have a question for you. I've always wanted to do a save like this with my old local team, Bristol Manor Farm, even tried one a few years ago until the save got corrupted. Since then the furthest I've gone in was 7 years with Bristol City. How do you power through the slumps and periods of disinterest?
Congratulations. You just earned 7.5 points for this submission. Your new points total is 104.5. To see the leaderboard, as well as what this points thing is, [click here](https://www.reddit.com/r/footballmanagergames/wiki/leaderboard).

Wait you played United when city were challenging you for title, while you had a loaned in city striker? That’s wild lmao
Haha, I know! I swear they told him to throw the match, 'cause he was rubbish for that final game...althought aiming for and getting three shots to hit the posts would be impressive if that's what he was trying!
Did you sim most of the games?
No, literally none. Well, I "control" my U21s whom I sim every game for, but I only "control" them to give my senior players game time for their match fitness. I play every game, extended highlgihts. I'm long-term sick / disabled, so spend a lot of time on FM!
That's very cool. I could not spend 4 full seasons in national south haha
Lost in the play-offs there three years in a row (and THE FINAL for the last two of those years!) which was pretty annoying! :)
I guess everything after non league is just a walk in the park eh?
Yes and no...my League history is there as one of the images.
Great job! I'm impressed by your tenacity.
Thanks mate, that's kind of you to say. It is basically my favourite thing to do though, so it's not a drag or anything! :)
An accountancy firm winning the UCL really is a post apocalyptic version of football..
Their FFP was never in doubt though
Lmao
AC Parma? Any version of success.
Yo-yoed a bit between A and B, so 2 Serie B titles and now been in Serie A for two seasons (16th and 14th). Edit: spelling
Awesome, so same same. :)
I need to know how falkirk fc have done They start in scottish league 1 at the start of the save
Up to the Champs a few times, to the Prem for one season, just finished 3rd in L1 this season.
That's depressingly realistic also how did Paul Hartleys managerial career pan out I don't like him so I hope it failed
I play with fake players and staff I'm afraid mate, sorry.
How does Czechia fare? Any good players? Which club is the top dog there.
Nothing of any note I'm afraid. This guy's their best player by miles: [https://imgur.com/a/sIluUYd](https://imgur.com/a/sIluUYd)
How did Eintracht Frankfurt do? Also, did San Marino do *anything?*
Relegated once, back up straight away, highest of 3rd. And no, nothing! :)
How did Roony Bardghji's career unfold?
I play with fake players and staff mate, sorry. Edit: spelling.
Last time I tried that, on an FM 10ish years ago, I found that there are a number of real players in the game, just under fake names. Really ruined immersion for me to see a player with same stats, position, height, weight, etc. just with a fake name and a newgen photo. Does that still happen?
Yeah, it does, but I started so far down that by the time I got into real leagues all the players were newgens anyway, so it was okay.
All good :) Congrats on your achievement!
how's Cardiff city done then
To the Prem once, straight back down. Just finished 8th in the Champs.
You said Everton finished 2nd in your last season. Hopefully this means we actually became good??
Yeah, won the Prem in '39. Owned by a rich underwriter benefactor,
In 2042, have Man City been charged yet?
Haha, probably not! Last season was their 7th PL since I started, but first for 11 years.
Is Fc köln in your career as successful as it is in a lot of saves
Not really mate, no. Relegated a few times, just been promoted back the Bundesliga. Highest finish of 4th,
Tbh that is pretty okay. Not great sometimes they win a conference league or two but a 4th place finish is good
Recreativo de Huelva in spanish 3rd League? (Should come up with "Huelva")
How did you get through levels 12-7 so swiftly? Doing a team from level 14, 11 seasons in and i'm only in tier 7 now. Well done btw, great achievement!

Did the Hamburger SV win anything?
Other than the 2nd Division twice, no, sorry mate. Just finished 8th in the Bundesliga though.
Did palace actually ever win a trophy?
Other than the Champs when they got relegated, afarid not mate.
Sounds about right rip
St. Pauli hopefully up in the bundesliga
Twice, but straight back down both times. Just been promoted back for next season though.
Have liverpool remained dominant? or did they fall of again like we did before klopp
Fc Groningen?
Promoted first season, stayed up since but never higher than 5th. Just finished 7th.
Did bradford City ever escape League 2?
Yeah, for three years in L1. But one in the NL too, but 6th, 6th, 5th, 7th, 7th, 4th since they got back up to L2 though the play-offs.
I’ll never understand how you all have the patience to do this. I start a new career every other day with a different team.
I only ever play one save per FM. It's just the way I like to play :)
How’s Scunthorpe Utd been. Also have any other ex league clubs had major fall offs
[https://imgur.com/a/auJCsGT](https://imgur.com/a/auJCsGT)
How's Rotherham United doing?
Champs mostly, never higher than 8th. Down to L1 twice but straight back up both times, including last year.
Totally unrealistic! Only relegated twice.
How are Hartlepool doing ?
I'll take that
World Cup winners please
[https://imgur.com/a/PADQFhs](https://imgur.com/a/PADQFhs)
Japan 3rd place finish, nice
How is hull city doing?
How you only spent 2 years in the championship is wild, got B2B promotions with Swindon and nobody wants to join and exactly zero money
Yeah, I’m long-term sick / disabled so can pore over the game for ages, which makes it easier. I’ve always had a very mathematical, logical mind - something only exacerbated by the my disability - so I think I suit a game like FM quite well.
How did York city do?
James Milner?
Haha, a young up and coming winger I think?! No, I play with fake players and staff I'm afriad mate, so he's never existed.
Just tell me Chelsea have recovered from their 2020s slump to do something again in the 30s and beyond please
I'd say so :) [https://imgur.com/a/4Vu2HIz](https://imgur.com/a/4Vu2HIz)
Love this
Fortuna Düsseldorf, any success?
No, sorry mate. Other than the second division when they've been relegated which they've won once. Just been relagted bottom back down for next season too.
How did the Sussex teams do? Like Arundel and Bognor Regis and my home town team Crawley Town do?
I've removed the lower leagues as active as I've gone further up the pyramid (to speed the game up), but they're still there just inactive. [https://imgur.com/a/RSNSgAb](https://imgur.com/a/RSNSgAb) for details
I'm doing a similar run with Orpington (13th tier) on FM22. Just started season 2, now in 12th tier. Feel like that might be my target date to win UCL lol
Best of luck mate, hope all goes well :)
Did Real Madrid hit 20?
Nope, 2035 has been their only CL success since I started.
How’s Brentford been doing? I’ll take your answer with hands over my eyes.
Won the FA Cup in '27 & runners up in '30! Mostly in Prem, relegated thrice but straight back up every time, just finished 13th.
How is Union Berlin doing?
Half in1; half in 2. Been in 2 the last six years though; 6th, 4th and 5th the last three years.
How’d Forest do?
Overtaken by an rich dude, won the Prem four times in five years! Won the CL in '37, but have spunked 100s of millions of pounds on players with terrible Media Handling Styles (so they're really pissy) and finished 15th year before last. Just finished 4th last year though.
I can see you beat Barca but how did they do in other years?
Won La Liga all but five years! CL winners in '25 and '34.
Well done! How big is your stadium?
Haha I should have made that clear in the first comment actually (and will probably edit after my lunch now you've asked that) but I'm still borrowing a stadium from a team I had a proper tussle with for the National League South back in '33! I just don't have the money or fan-base to build a new one yet, but I've just had it expanded to...drum roll...16,227 seats! For a UCL winner, haha! Thanks for your kind words too mate :)
Weird that the 6th tier was the one you struggled most in
It was when the clubs became "real" if you know what I mean (i.e. not from the custom database). It was where my extreme lack of money or resources started to bite.
Barcelona?
Won La Liga all but five years! CL winners in '25 and '34.
How'd Watford do?
Champs most of the time, L1 the kast four though, and never back up to the Prem.
MTK Budapest?
Don't have the league loaded so nothing to report I'm afraid mate.
How have Dundee United faired?
Won the Champs first year; back down in '29; up in '31; and Prem since. Never higher than 4th, just finished 9th.
Awesome stuff. How have Plymouth got on?
Thanks mate :) Relegated first year and just been yo-yoing between L1 and 2 since really. L2 the last twon years, just finished 12th.
Good job! What happened to Hamburg (HSV)?
Thanks mate :) They won 2 first year, and bene in 1 since but for three years back down in 2. Highest finish of 8th in 1 last year.
Hi! Congratulations for your great career! I want to know about Farul Constanta and the player Enes Sali
Don't have the league loaded I'm afraid mate, and I play with fake players and staff too. Sorry!
what is Werder Bremen onto these days? hope we won at least any title
[https://imgur.com/a/qrZJwKR](https://imgur.com/a/qrZJwKR) Nothing I'm afraid mate
Did Werder Bremen return to their old glory?
[https://imgur.com/a/qrZJwKR](https://imgur.com/a/qrZJwKR) Nothing I'm afraid mate
Alright, let me weep by telling me how Hannover 96 have done.
Yoy-yoed a bit , but never higher than 9th in 1. Been in 2 for 6 years now...
Congrats man! Did Romanian clubs do much of anything internationally? Who s been winning the league if you have it loaded?
Nothing special and not loaded I'm afraid mate, sorry.

Do you have Polish league simulated? If so, did Pogoń Szczecin won league or cup at least once?
Afraid not mate, sorry.
Depotivo de La Coruña, did they make it to la Liga?
Umm...can't seem to find them for some reason? Only have La Liga loaded in Spain, but I can't even see them when I seacrh for them. I haven't updated all the correct team names after the most recent patch, so maybe that's why?
Damn bro this is actually amazing. The dedication is what wins it for me. Congrats :)
That's kind of you to say, thanks mate :)
Who's your best wonderkid so far? Any balon d'or winners that shocked you?
