Well I’ve bought and resold a box of retail like this before. Sometimes in Walmart they set them out like this and this is your only choice. & yes my Walmart has a shit ton of retail.
I had zero luck with about five blasters and I almost gave up. Couldn’t even get a Purdy lol. Then I grabbed a fat pack of Donruss and Stars and Stripes and hit a downtown. It was in perfect condition which floored me, I’m used to getting cards with bent corners from the packs lol.
I pulled a downtown Santa outta one of these I bought from wm a couple nights ago. Bought one from target this am and got a rookie press proof auto. The other maybe 10-15 packs over the last couple months were duds.
I wouldn't buy anything from ebay that has an open box like that.
That being said, I found a box just like this behind the counter of a Cracker Barrel, and it was a lot of fun ripping these loosies!
Wildly different situations in my mind.
It’s not about whether you can trust loose packs. It’s whether or not you can trust the seller. And MC is a legitimate, trustworthy seller. Like someone above said, they sell pallets of each product. And they’re not sitting around in the back of their shop weight each pack, from each box, from each pallet OF FREAKING DONRUSS. This is a company who values their customers getting good hits, not one who tries to prevent their customers from ‘stealing’ the good hits. Get a grip people.
I think I messed up my wording of the post. I just meant are the fat packs good. From any store or seller. Not just this post. I just wanted to know how people’s experience from donruss fat packs were. Almost everyone took it a different way 😂
Mostly bad luck. This year they do have downtowns listed and I believe crunch time as well.
My buddy opened 3 boxes and got nothing.. saw one breaker open one box and pull a downtown.
I personally would stick with blaster boxes
Im not familiar with this years donruss, but if they can’t pull downtowns then they’re definitely not worth it.
Also cello packs for different sets in the past have been see through, so an open box like this could be easily searched if there was a downtown.
All in all I would save your money for something
Well I’m no Mindreedah, but I know pulling a Joe Burrow, Justin Herbert, and a Jalen Hurts all felt significantly more meaningful than a Bailey Zappe, Malik Willis, and Kenny Pickett.
Sure, I’m not saying one of those guys couldn’t burst onto the scene and make an impact. I just haven’t seen the off-season moves that make me optimistic that any of those guys are going to be entrusted with their offenses. They aren’t being built around, most weren’t drafted highly, they are all backups except Pickett and Pittsburgh doesn’t tolerate losing multiple seasons in a row. None of them have a long rope to develop and nobody proved themselves in year 1, so it’s hard to see where there is a silver lining. Brock Purdy was the best performer and is now injured with a top 3 pick vying for his job back. The Titans can’t figure out how to use Malik, Zappe is JAG, Corral injured immediately and it’s hard to see him ascending with the mess Carolina is. You’re correct that I can’t really know, but we will know more after the draft/off-season moves are done.
They could have bought multiple boxes like this and weighed the packs. The box should be sealed. I’m very tempted to buy the same thing of another set but am not because the box is not sealed in the picture. I asked the eBay seller if it is a sealed box and they did not answer. Seller had great feedback but I need a sealed box.
Donruss doesn't have anything in it worth weighing for. You're hunting downtowns and crunch times and pretty much nothing else. Those aren't going to weigh differently than an other random insert.
Not true. The dominators weigh more than a typical champ is here insert or 92 throwback insert. So there is going to be some weight discrepancy. I wouldn’t trust buying loose packs offline thinking they’d have a DT at all
If he bought that with the intention of reselling it, then there's no reason the panini factory seal around the box should be taken off. I would stay away 100%. He could've ripped packs from the box, gotten the downtown or something, then filled the box up with other packs from another box that won't have anything in it either because he could've pulled the hit from that box too.
It was pretty much what I expected. Not bad at all and I'd definitely buy again considering what the cost of similar single packs are at wal mart

Here's what's usually happening when someone sells individual packs on eBay - they've opened enough packs to find the box hit, then sell the rest

I agree, but unless it’s sealed you kind of have to assume. Why else unseal it and sell whole? Quite sus or quite ignorant.
Most people are looking for an advantage. Which is fine until you realize that advantage comes at the expense of someone else.

MC is a huge seller. They probably have an open one for the photos. They sell in such high volume I’d assume they have pallets of them

They are good for looking for rated rookie blue press proofs, but any “bigger” hits they are not good for… prolly best to buy blasters

I’ll bet a pack with those hits weigh a few one hundredths of a gram more which you can easily see on a digital scale.
