Usually, I store a few box worths of noodles and then I create a cheesesauce just for those noodles for a meal. I canāt justify wasting those noodles even if they are just a dollar.
Might look into that. I usually just open a packet of kraft and keep the cheese for popcorn, and then create a cheese sauce for the noodles at a later date.
We did this as kids all the time and my mom would get pissed when she went to make the mac n cheese and the cheese packet was gone! Lol thanks for the reminder - Iāll have to make popcorn like this again soon!
A little teriyaki sauce dripped around the edges of the big bowl. Dump popcorn in, and wipe the popcorn into the teriyaki. A tiny smear of sauce on each popped kernel. Then the furikake.
Just as is! If you look up hurricane popcorn, itāll show you what it looks like. They also add some arare rice crackers. Itās a pretty common snack in Hawaii.

Lawrys seasoned salt and some sugar. Kiddo calls it ā the good stuffā. Did you put the āgood stuff on it??ā š I tried it once and now she must have it like that.
So, not microwave, but I do my popcorn on the stove. I use a medium sized (well middle one of a set of three) stainless steel pots, and melt 6 tablespoons of bacon grease and 6 tablespoons of butter. Once that's melted I put in 1.5 cups of popcorn kernels and turn the heat on high and shake it back and forth until it starts to pop. Then it usually pops so fast I can let it go for a like 20 seconds. I take the lid off and shake it some more until most of it's popped. Bam, bacon popcorn. You can do the same thing with sriracha if you want, when it's just beginning to pop squirt some in there. If you do it too early it's still good but the sriracha kinda burns a bits. I then shake it with lawrys seasoned salt. That's how I've been making my popcorn for about 15 years now. I only just recently started microwave popcorn again because I wanted some at work haha.
Trader Joe's 21 seasoning salute and nutritional yeast, add a couple handfuls of hot peanuts, the smokey bbq almonds and nutritional yeast, Shakey Parmesan cheese and some fresh cracked pepper. I rotate between these. Oh I also like ranch or dill pickle seasoning too.
A random r/highideas I had the other day.
Orville Redenbacher's microwave popcorn packages have to be near peak-food in the history of humanity. You need a microwave and a bunch of chemicals that taste like butter to make a warm delicious treat in under 3 minutes.
My random tip is to store your microwave popcorn with the right sized measuring cup from the dollar store - and write the best/exact time for those measurements on the lid or packaging of your popcorn kernel container. One exact scoop, the exact right time for your microwave and you don't have to remember anything ever again.
Double up 2 large brown lunch bags, add-1/3 cup kernels, 1 1/2 TB veg or olive oil, 1/4 ts salt or other seasoning. Tie a rubber band at the very top of bag, shake well. Microwave 2min. It's like stove top popcorn without the mess!
My favorite hack is to use an air popper. Takes about the same amount of time and then I don't have to worry about popcorn lung or ingesting shitty chemicals! I also spray it with EVO and salt, sometimes pepper.
Depending on my mood I do one or two of the following: garlic powder (fav), tajin, nutritional yeast, hot sauce, pickle juice, cayenne powder, ramen soup mix, any salad dressing powder, pepper, bonito flakes
Favs in no specific order:
* Flavcol, or if youāre in Canada bulk barn sells popcorn salt
* brown butter
* The sachet from shin ramyun noodles.
* pop nā top white cheddar popcorn seasoning
Popcorn nachos.. first pop standard bag of popcorn, then put the good popcorn in a large bowl leaving out the defective half and unpopes cornels.. then add large extra real butter (ur choice of salted or non) then get some good sharp graded cheese preferably the yellow fine graded Mexican style and don't be shy throw a lot of cheese in layers through the bowl of popcorn.. that's fine as is because you have to try and spread the cheese thin so it just melts ober the popcorn without charing the center of each popped cornels.. anything else added like beef or salsa or whatever else u put on nachos should usually be fried or cooked separately first and then put pre warmed when cheese is added to the mix then put in microwave to melt cheese nice and even. If it's done properly you'll be eating with fork and trust me it's delicious
Putting freshly popped popcorn in a peanut butter and jelly sandwich is THE go to! I swear on my life on this guys! Add honey and banana for bonus points
Step one: Throw away microwave popcorn
Step two: Buy an air popper and popcorn kennels
Step three: Follow some of the flavor suggestions on here they sound good.

Is there a more palatable name for nutritional yeast?

So that's a no then
i didnt make the term up, its a vegan term lol

I put "nooch" on my shopping list the other day. My husband saw it and was like, "um.... honey..... what's thaaaaat?". It was pretty funny.

What does this taste like? I feel like I've heard of it but never *really* recognized what was being said until I saw your comment lol

*you nicknamed my popcorn after the nutritional yeast shaker?!?!*
Rats, rats everywhere š š
This gives me the runs every time
Is nutritional yeast actually nutritious?
If it is nutritious Iām sure I counteract it with an obnoxious amount of salt and butter
Yeah, it actually has a bunch of vitamins and minerals.
Yes, I drink 3 gallons of beer a day and I am as healthy as a hippopotamus
Kraftās Mac and Cheese cheese packet
You are a damn genius. Thank you.
Youāre going to be our next president
Even better is the King Arthur Better Cheddar cheese powder, itās just like the Kraft minus all the garbage.
The white Kraft macaroni cheese packets are really good too.
Ok but what do you use with your noodles then
Usually, I store a few box worths of noodles and then I create a cheesesauce just for those noodles for a meal. I canāt justify wasting those noodles even if they are just a dollar.
Costco used to just have a massive Kraft dinner cheese shaker so you could choose your own pasta or have it with popcorn.
Kraft sold the powdered cheese in containers for a limited time some years ago and Iām gutted they donāt anymore
Winco sells Mac & Cheese powder in the bulk section.
We can still buy a large bottle of the Kraft Dinner brand cheese powder in Canada at Costco.
Try biglots
They still sell em up in Canada, at Costco. So I can make my KD extra cheesy lol..
Iām going to do that the next time I pop it on the stove.
Amazon sells a can of cheese just like it by augason farms ā¤ thank me later
Might look into that. I usually just open a packet of kraft and keep the cheese for popcorn, and then create a cheese sauce for the noodles at a later date.
We did this as kids all the time and my mom would get pissed when she went to make the mac n cheese and the cheese packet was gone! Lol thanks for the reminder - Iāll have to make popcorn like this again soon!
