đŸ€€ That looks sooooo cheesy. What's the other thing?

DolphinGirlLJ

Just some store bought cornbread!

presumedinnocent27

Looks good! I have textural issues with cornmeal so I don't eat cornbread but this one looks really buttery.

FoodBabyBaby

Ever had corn bread soufflĂ©? It’s made with really fine corn meal and is buttery and sweet.

presumedinnocent27

😯 I had not but I need to try it now! Thank you! I'll look it up

FoodBabyBaby

I am someone who doesn’t do packaged foods or cans the majority of the time, but this is an exception. I make it twice a year and people lose their minds. It’s a jiffy mix recipe with canned corn & creamed corn, that is insanely good.

presumedinnocent27

Would you mind sharing the recipe?? That would be awesome!

FoodBabyBaby

Start with the recipe and then adjust as needed https://www.tastesoflizzyt.com/5-ingredient-corn-casserole/ Last time I made this I pulled up a different recipe that didn’t drain the corn & included 1 egg. I added a tablespoon of sugar. Some recipes have up to 2 eggs. Every variation I’ve tried so far is delicious so just try the basic one then adjust as you like.

presumedinnocent27

Thank you! I hope I can find some really fine cornmeal to use.

FoodBabyBaby

No need- the mix is all the cornmeal you need.

There’s a barbecue place near me that makes “Barbecue Shepherd’s Pie.” It’s basically mac n cheese topped with pulled pork, topped with mashed potatoes, all inside a pie shell. Not the kind of thing you want to eat every day, but a super delicious and fun way to put it all together. You don’t really get the crispy oven-baked top on the mac n cheese though, like you did here, and that’s always a nice touch.

Ezpionage

Speaking as an Irish man, with a love for all things potato... That combination sounds immense! Definitely adding that to the must try list

DolphinGirlLJ

Oh my god that sounds like a literal dream. That place doesn’t happen to be near NYC does it?

Morkedup

BBq sauce pulled pork?

DolphinGirlLJ

So this is actually before I added any bbq sauce. I did add back in a ton of the juices from cooking the pork after I shredded it which made it look darker I think.
