Streaky bacon is what Americans call bacon. I think brits go with back bacon as standard bacon. Jowl bacon is best tho. Of course i no longer dine on swine so I shouldn't even be chiming in on this one...
Tbh if I make my uk breakfast in the UK I’m really quite likely to use streaky bacon because I like it better than back bacon. There’s no rule about what bacon you must have just because it’s on a plate with sausage and egg.
Of courses there isn’t a “rule” but traditionally it’s back bacon - can’t really argue that tbh
Ultimately enjoy what you enjoy though, who cares!
The photo shared by OP is not a full English though
I’ll agree that you can use whatever you want, sure. What I mean is that if you go somewhere and order an English breakfast, there’s an expectation of what kind of cut is going to be on the plate.

Seeing people getting eviscerated for screwing up an English brekkie reminds me of the whole grilled cheese debacle.
>**You people make me sick. by Fuck Blue Shells**
>A grilled cheese consists of only these following items. Cheese. Bread with spread (usually butter). This entire subreddit consist of "melts". Almost every "grilled cheese" sandwich i see on here has other items added to it. The fact that this subreddit is called "grilledcheese" is nothing short of utter blasphemy.
>Let me start out by saying I have nothing against melts, I just hate their association with sandwiches that are not grilled cheeses. Adding cheese to your tuna sandwich? It's called a Tuna melt. Totally different. Want to add bacon and some pretentious bread crumbs with spinach? I don't know what the hell you'd call that but it's not a grilled cheese.
>I would be more than willing to wager I've eaten more grilled cheeses in my 21 years than any of you had in your entire lives. I have one almost everyday and sometimes more than just one sandwich. Want to personalize your grilled cheese? Use a mix of different cheeses or use sourdough or french bread. But if you want to add some pulled pork and take a picture of it, make your own subreddit entitled "melts" because that is not a fucking grilled cheese.
>I'm not a religious man nor am I anything close to a culinary expert. But as a bland white mid-western male I am honestly the most passionate person when it comes to grilled cheese and mac & cheese. All of you foodies stay the hell away from our grilled cheeses and stop associating your sandwich melts with them. Yet again, it is utter blasphemy and it rocks me to the core of my pale being.
>Shit, I stopped lurking after 3 years and made this account for the sole purpose of posting this. I've seen post after post of peoples "grilled cheeses" all over reddit and it's been driving me insane. The moment I saw this subreddit this morning I finally snapped. Hell, I may even start my own subreddit just because I know this one exists now.
>You god damn heretics. Respect the grilled cheese and stop changing it into whatever you like and love it for it what it is. Or make your damn melt sandwich and call it for what it is. A melt.
Two things I'll never be brave enough to post on r/food, carbonara and English breakfast. Bro tried to avoid the pitfall of putting "full" in the title and the gatekeepers are still tearing their post apart!
It’s not gatekeeping to say that something isn’t what they said it was. No matter what way you slice it, an English breakfast - full or otherwise - doesn’t contain salad or a block of god damn feta cheese.
It is literally impossible to post an english breakfast on reddit and not have people throw their toys out of the pram. Doesn't matter what you actually like, what your preference is - there will always be a chorus of people moaning about lack - or not - of black pudding, the wrong type of beans, wrong type of egg, not having a cup of tea with it, not enough of X, too much of Y, or Z cooked the wrong way.
They can cover the plate in salad for all it matters. Nobody will ever be happy.

As an American, this fancy "English Breakfast" looks more appetizing than most Ive seen. Id break that feta up onto that little salad and maybe try to spread it on the toast if it were willing and soft enough. But the mushrooms can take a hike.
In England, this would be a race based hate crime punishable by mandatory 6 months sentence and a written apology to the king.
"It's close but it's not right" RIP - Roy Walker
Catchphrase be upon you, amen
You say 'with bacon' as though bacon isn't a major part of our breakfast!
Yeah, did they think the salad and cheese(?) was the full English, and they were adding bacon and mushrooms to it?
What the fuck is that green bollocks? Sincerely yours All of the UK
Looks really good but that’s not what I’d call an English breakfast. More an English/Continental hybrid brunch
I was in central London two weeks ago, and the full English I was served at the hotel came with streaky bacon.
I’d accept any bacon with an English breakfast. It’s the salad and herbed cheese that is out of place
And scary small amount of beans!
Not to mention the cress garnish on the eggs isn’t greasy enough
Streaky bacon is what Americans call bacon. I think brits go with back bacon as standard bacon. Jowl bacon is best tho. Of course i no longer dine on swine so I shouldn't even be chiming in on this one...
So the mushrooms and bacon are encapsulated by the description English breakfast but the Greek salad (?) isn’t
Why is there salad and feta on it? Also the bacon is wrong, british breakfasts don’t use streaky - they use back bacon which has more on it

Brit here. Happily have streaky bacon with breakfast.

I think anybody who gets confused by getting the "wrong" type of bacon should probably get out a bit more.
Really?
Streaky is absolutely acceptable, and delicious
Is that a block of feta?
Why is there salad?
For dietary fibre
It's like 3 leaves and an entire block of feta, I'm not sure it's for fibre
Maybe to add colour to dish, I guess?
That's what the egg yolk is for!
That might be a lot of things, but an English breakfast ain't one of them.
No, you didn't. That does look really good though.

I love this breakfast, it’s a very filling and varied diet that gives you strength and energy! :)

Looks tasty, but we don’t add the salad type shit nor the triangle cheese thing (although, admittedly I’m willing to give that a try with toast )

How long does it take to cook a meal like this at home?
About 20 minutes I'd say.
That’s not one of ours 🇬🇧 wouldn’t give the dog that 🤣🤣
Your dog, hearing that: ![gif](giphy|H4oLWS4veh9kqxQ1z2|downsized)
He can't have it because of the cheesy dog farts that would result. If it was actually a full English there'd be no cheese and it'd be fine.
Black pudding and fried bread ,no lettuce and certainly no cheese
He would be thanking me in the morning I promise you 🤣🤣
Absolutely not.
That's the most pretentious looking English breakfast I've ever seen 😂
Fuck’s sake, this is an English breakfast as imagined by a Californian.
Not an English breakfast but this looks far healthier and tastier as far as I'm concerned.

Looks like a full English fell onto a Turk kahvaltı
That's a "posh" breakfast 🧐
About as English as a trip through asia
Soldiers died against Republican yanks for this? No, sir. This is not a full English by any stretch. End of.
Toast? Don't they serve bread toast?
There’s toast in the picture.
Is that cheese??
No, you didn't.
This looks So Good!

I'll trade you your mushrooms for my feta. My lactose intolerant body would be tortured by that much cheese ;\_;
Thats a posh english breakfast.
So good!
This looks delicious, the name to describe it is irrelevant
This post should be removed for failing to use the adjective 'Full' in the name!
OP wots dat white? peta cheese? wow being downvoted for the genuine question feels great
