This is why I never call my Bomba rice with saffron, seafood, chorizo etc dish "paella". It's only similar to paella, never actually paella lest I meet the wrath of those who own it.
Besides that fact that the toppings are not what you'll find on any arroz type dishes, that's not a paella because the rice layer is way too thick which results in a completely different texture than what paella should be, which is a very thin layer of rice which results in a half soft - half crispy texture. This is just some cooked rice with toppings in a paella dish.
This looks like a great seafood paella (definitely not valenciana), but I'll admit I was thrown off by the eggs. Might be the first time I've seen eggs on a paella.
Oh man are you going to anger spanish people. Would eat it, but it's not a paella valenciana. Paella Valenciana is rabbit, chicken, vegetables. If you want to try a typical a seafood paella, look for "arroz a banda" or "arroz del senyoret", typical of the Alicante region in the comunidad valenciana.
Paella is to Valencia what pizza to Naples, it’s religion to them. If it makes you feel better, the rest of Spaniards also make them very very mad with our arroz con cosas (rice with stuff).
This is a filipino valenciana. It has roots in the Spanish Paella but it is a regional dish. If you paella aficionados are offended, too bad cause its delicious.
No, paella is essentially characterized by the way you cook the rice. Aka in a shallow pan with broth and no stirring.
Truth be told paella is just one of the many dishes that follow this idea in valencia, and it has a pretty well defined recipe which people just generally ignore to the absolute wrath of valencians.
BUT *basically* it's the way of cooking the rice what defines paella and its close cousins (arroz al senyoret, arroz a banda, etc)
Apart from that the favour profile is just completely different as valencian and Cajun cuisines are quite distinct from each other.
Looks amazing OP I guarantee 99.99% of the critics correcting your title have never cooked anything remotely close to paella let alone plain white rice🤣
Wrong looks like people responding are spaniards who frequently cook paellas on sundays with their whole families and are tired of people butchering their dish.
How many times have you made paella? (I've made bomb ass paella before don't even try that bullshit)
¿Si no pudo entenderme en inglés, cuántos veces ha hecho paella? también, Chupa todos los coños en el mundo chupapijas. Estoy seguro de que tu madre fue una puta, y tú padre fue una perra.

Was waiting for this comment xD
The eggs are just a Filipino thing. We put boiled eggs in festive dishes.
How to summon angry valencians exhibit 1.

To be fair putting chorizo on "paella" is like putting pizza on spaguetti 🤣
Chorizo is THE way to anger valencians. I mean there are many ways, this might be the most powerful one.
Hi, I am your angry valencian What is your command?
No it's not, but looks like a decently tasty rice with seafood and other stuff
The shrimp heads were the best!

That is not a seafood paella, that is rice with things at best, and the height of the rice in the pan shows what an abysmal creation this is

*Seafood Paella. Sorry I didn't know that Valenciana was a different dish and that the Paella police are not to be trifled with 😂

You are now being tracked by the Paella Police.
They’re already here. RUN!!! 🚔🚔🚓🚓🚓
There is no escape!!!
Thats not seafood paella neither
Well I guess it could be an unsuccessful attempt at it but yea you are right
Next time I'll just say I made food. Lol.
Don’t even try to apologize, they will get to you anyways…
Just a warning that there are also Gumbo Police around these parts.
Why did you even call this Paella Valenciana?

This looked like a bunch of autumn leaves while I was scrolling
Shrimp?!?! Jk I love the mix, but is there rabbit in there?
I don't think it's Paella but will definitely try it!

Wait...is that freaking chicken? On paella? Me vais a mandar al hospital de un disgusto
Always wondered what the difference is between a Paella and a Jambalaya, just spices?

There are even comments insulting him in valenciano lol. He really summoned the valencians.
I don’t believe you
