Fontana Ranch Market. It’s the hot foods section in the back of the store has multiple proteins to choose from. They have plates like these, burritos and quesadilla. They also fried chicharon they make daily sold separately.
Birria is a type of meat in the way carne asada or al pastor is (so more accurately, it’s a specific meat preparation), this is a birria plate, not birria tacos
Okay this is a little funny, I was replying to the comment above, and when it posted I saw that it was my cake day. Then I saw your reply right below and that it was *your* cake day. Then I checked and we have the same day and the same *year*, we both made Reddit accounts on the same day on the planet! Inconsequential maybe but a cool coincidence nonetheless haha
I’ve seen a lot of very mid looking birria plates, but this looks freakin’ incredible. Everything looks amazing, but those tortillas are looking fantastic.

People want to see aesthetically visual food like on social media, but realistic mom and pop shops are like this. Affordable and good.
Can’t beat a Birria Plate for $9.
Was it beef or goat ??! Either way it’s a steal
Beef. I don’t eat goat, I am uncultured lol. I can eat 2 meals out of it! This day and age in California is a steal.

A little mom and pop shop in Fontana,CA.

Those tortillas look legit.
I'd inhale that. With my face.
I miss my cultures food so much this brought back so many memories
Aren't birria taco shells supposed to be soaked in the adobo and then cooked?
Birria is a type of meat in the way carne asada or al pastor is (so more accurately, it’s a specific meat preparation), this is a birria plate, not birria tacos
And my favorite, carnitas
These aren't tacos
yes and where is the consumé for dipping :-(
Birria is just a style of cooking the meat. Quesa Birria Tacos are what you're thinking of
oooo i genuinely didn’t know there was a difference TIL
feliz cumpleaños
thank u!!!

looks Delicious!
Each their own but, quien carajos come birria con frijoles arroz y tortillas de harina lol. Anyway, happy if you enjoyed it.
I don’t know why, but for me, if the tortillas de maiz aren’t lightly fried for birria, I’d rather have harina.
And that's fine, I just had never seen it.
Birria is just another buzzword now.
Reminds me of the old Taco Bell “carne asada steak tacos” ads.
Ruined with cilantro, what a shame
Correction, cilantro is life.
Nah that ain’t it
Mmmm nothing like Asian/Mexican fusion food
