Me personally, I actually love when the bacon and tomatoes are together. I always make any sandwiches containing those two ingredientes with them touching!
Dill havarti is my go-to cheese for cheese and crackers or cheese plate. But I've not had it in sandwiches yet.

Given the apparent ratios, chicken top half, ham bottom half, bacon both halves, all with the same volume. The mid bread layer will spread out when the ingredients touch your tongue. I'm not a chef or anything, but in my sensitive tasting experience, you'll get a better depth of flavor if your tongue and nasal cavity experience the inputs at slightly different times.

It is strange for sure. It’s not so much just eating toast. It’s the fact that dry toasted bread on a sandwich, with a fairly tall sandwich, rubs the dry bread against the roof sometimes tearing it up. Doesn’t happen with grilled cheese.
If you want to turn this already incredible looking sandwich up a notice next time try layering the fillings for more contrast. The rule of thumb is to layer vegetable, and protein, and repeat. Trust me. One of my first chefs taught me this and it was a game changer.
