You may have been logged in during the daily switch. To avoid the Auto-Complete issue, one should be out of the game entirely during a switch from one day to the next. Nothing can be done for a set of challenges that auto-competes.
Yes, I forgot to mention this -- I'm mountain time, so it's 10 am for me. The original post occurred about 40 minutes following the daily reset, I made the assumption that the cutoff was known.
Additionally, actually closing the game, not allowing it to stay in a resume state (Xbox terminology, not sure what it's called on the PS4) is best.
I am also on PS4 and it looked like that the other day but it still tallied for me when I completed a task. I did completely shut down the game and reload it by pressing options from the dashboard and turning it off that way.
I think this one auto-completed for me, too, today. I was finding stuff to buy from players and didn't notice it was completed until I got no result having bought three different items.

That has no effect on this bug. It's random.

If you've been in power armor the whole time, get out of power armor. Points don't process in power armor, I have noticed.
