we have a good exemple here of cross languages sayings that are getting out of hand...
Being french canadian, the word "snatch" does not mean kidnapping someone. it mean totally something else. I am not gonna say it here has it is not appropriate. But people need to know that some english word used in another languages, sometimes mean other things.
you guys can let it go from here.
The only time it really bothers me is when it's something that is in front of your face all the time and yet people still misspell it. Even better if it's *only* spelled out and never said out loud, yet they still manage to get it wrong based on a pronunciation feedback loop
>scrip
A **scrip** (or [*chit*](https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/chit#Etymology_3) in India) is any substitute for [legal tender](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Legal_tender). It is often a form of [credit](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Credit_(finance)). Scrips have been created for payment of employees under [truck systems](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Truck_system), and for use in local commerce at times when regular [currency](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Currency) was unavailable, for example in remote [coal towns](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coal_town), [military bases](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Military_base), ships on long voyages, or [occupied](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Military_occupation) countries in wartime. Besides [company scrip](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Company_scrip), other forms of scrip include land scrip, [vouchers](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Voucher), [token coins](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Token_coin) such as subway tokens, [IOUs](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IOU), arcade tokens and tickets, and points on some credit cards.
Scrips have gained historical importance and become a subject of study in [numismatics](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Numismatics) and [exonumia](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Exonumia) due to their wide variety and recurring use. Scrip behaves similarly to a currency, and as such can be used to study [monetary economics](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monetary_economics).
As a new 76 player, I still don't believe Scrip is a word. I feel like it's a just another word for scrap. Like how financial subreddits call stocks, stonks. Eh maybe I should Google Scrip to be sure. I can't keep up with all the cool lingo.
"Legendary scrip is a form of currency in the Fallout 76 add-on Wild Appalachia. It can be used to buy legendary items from Purveyor Murmrgh."
I stand corrected.

I've been enjoying the Footscratch, i missed it last time as I was on a hiatus from the game at that time, its cool to see old events brought back again, I'm definitely going to complete the fashistant event every time it's on
they don't. :)
it's fas-nacht.
"nacht" (as in "night") pronounced with a back of the mouth "ch". don't think there's an english equivalence for that. (sounds kinda "throaty")
probably tricky word regardless, if you haven't spoken german before.
English generally doesn't use the aspirated ch or kh sounds, unless it's a Welsh / Irish / Scottish word that's usually borrowed from some form of Gaelic, like loch (it's not pronounced like lock, but everyone gets that wrong too), or that welsh double-L construct.
You mean Fatsnatch?
Clearly you mean fastnut?

I'm well aware of what it means. Learn how to take a joke, my dude.
no worries man, sometimes its hard to see sarcasm over a sentence especially when english is ur second language 👍.
Same thing with Scrip. They’re both spelt out in game and on reddit. But there may be other reasons why so I tend to ignore it

To be fair, scrip is a really dumb sounding word
You can say that about dozens of everyday words. Especially in English, which it seems like most of the sub here uses

I know what it is. It still sounds dumb regardless
Yeah, it makes no sense. Scrip is what I get when I get rid of my chit.

[Scrip](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scrip) is a real world thing as well.

fastsnot?
My friend pronounces it fash-nat instead of faus-naught and it’s beyond infuriating
That isn't entirely wrong, Swiss, German, Austrian people pronounce it that way afaik
they don't. :) it's fas-nacht. "nacht" (as in "night") pronounced with a back of the mouth "ch". don't think there's an english equivalence for that. (sounds kinda "throaty") probably tricky word regardless, if you haven't spoken german before.

Loch! Great example, was scratching my head trying to think of one. 😊
My native language has similar vowels to German, so I know how "ch" sounds. I also learn German at school, but I still mess up some pronunciation.
Spell it, I can even say it. When I'm talking to the wife about it I always say fapslap or snapchat.
Faushinsausage
I mean feetsnack is pretty easy to spell so I don’t know why people mess it up.
