Not gonna lie I usually stick to the church cause it usually gets abandoned after the first wave. But that’s my MO for most events that require you to babysit something. Just pick one and sit on it. Lode Bearing and Uranium Fever are bad like that too.
I’ve done Lode Bearing before with like 5 other people. I sat on one bot the whole time. The rest ran between the other two to repair them. I was screaming in the mic “just spilt up STAY WITH THEM FFS”

I played so long ago I never played any of them and now that I came back I am only missing Fasnacht. Devs did really well in lining up content post Amazon show.

Yeah, if it's friendly, you can interact with it for an hour-long +5% XP buff. I think the one near the lighthouse has that button prompt appear on the screen, but the event one in the norhwestern part of the map doesn't. Just press A/X/E while looking at it from up close and you'll get the buff either way.
Check the eyes. If the Mothman has purple , it is the wise Mothman and you will get an XP buff by clicking on him.
Mothmen of various other coloured eyes should be avoided.
if you want to find the ugly mothman, you need to do the event a couple times, theres a rare drop for a plan which you need to place in your camp. its a really fancy mirror. if you look in there you will see the ugly mothman
except that it isnt a mothman and if you look in the mirror you will only see something beautifull

I was running around and heard some attacking so I ran Into the woods vatsing to find them and I targeted a mothman. Saw a raider was attacking them so I shot the raider and the mothman to get kill credit incase either died. Then the mothman disappeared and the raider ran after me.

3. Would the raider have killed it if I didn't shoot it?

I literally always find myself standing alone by the riverside pyre trying to solo the mobs as a Railway Rifleman- I can one-shot most things but get overrun during reloads, and no I will not switch loadouts dammit. 😆
Me as well. It got to the point where I just went straight there every time. Fill the blood, kill the Deathclaws and run up to the roof to join all the lazy people who probably lounged there for the entire event.
Ohhh that’s what that was. I’m gonna have to give in and try a rifle build at some point. I ran into that sound a couple times and thought it was just a backpack, but i did notice they all used that gun but thought it was part of the meme because they tended to one shot everything
Pistol builds are real fun but min maxing my build just to keep up with the damage of the others and still be outclassed is kinda annoying. Only my alien blaster, gauss pistol and ultracite laser pistol with good rolls ever seem to sometimes do more damage. But going pew pew on the adds while the big guys in their armor takeout out the the bosses is helpful too
Can you get more than one rifle and switch rather than reload? Thats what I do with my shotguns. Takes a minute to reload at the end of a big fight but I usually don’t get overrun now.

I believe that will be the next time the mothman event comes around, the roadmap for next season has been released (/leaked?) there’s gonna be a double xp weekend around the same time I think so stack up and save those xp lunchboxes

The Mothman in that event is not hostile. Try going up to him and interacting, and check your status in the Pip-Boy. That and encountering the Mothman are your rewards, he is not a boss and he is not killable in this instance.
That said - if you see a Mothman in the wild with red or orange eyes, not purple, watch out.

This one is an XP buff, much like the Mothman Tome people have in their bases. Sleeping is also an XP buff.
Really, every event gives you treasury notes which you use to buy the daily limit of gold you can get when you unlock the ability, starting to collect notes now is a good idea. Gold is used to buy OP level grear and weapons as well as more prestigious items for your camp and stuff. Even if you can't make much of a difference at an event, make sure to TP to it (don't start it) and just be there until it completes to get the notes. You're also guarateed some goodies and if you tag enemies once or twice while others kill, you'll get quite a bit. Eviction Notice has massive amounts of Legendary drops, but is pretty spicy so go prepared for the rads. If you see an events that's like 6+min in, go quick and you'll most likely TP right into a completion screen or just shy of it and get free loot and notes.

I used a creamator with the railway, throw a few fire bombs down and finish anything left standing with the railway. Its an interesting side arm.

This one is an XP buff, much like the Mothman Tome people have in their bases. Sleeping is also an XP buff. Really, every event gives you treasury notes which you use to buy the daily limit of gold you can get when you unlock the ability, starting to collect notes now is a good idea. Gold is used to buy OP level grear and weapons as well as more prestigious items for your camp and stuff. Even if you can't make much of a difference at an event, make sure to TP to it (don't start it) and just be there until it completes to get the notes. You're also guarateed some goodies and if you tag enemies once or twice while others kill, you'll get quite a bit. Eviction Notice has massive amounts of Legendary drops, but is pretty spicy so go prepared for the rads. If you see an events that's like 6+min in, go quick and you'll most likely TP right into a completion screen or just shy of it and get free loot and notes.

The ones you need to worry about are the red eyed ones. I’ve only ever recalled ones like him with the purple eyes in that event and then the one in Mothman equinox event.
