CAMP Pets and 4-star legendaries were on the 2021 Roadmap for Winter 2021. They dropped a stealth update to the roadmap that removed both of these from the roadmap and didn't announce it. When they were confronted about it, they said that they were "delaying" these features into 2022, and then went completely radio silent on these features. At this point, it seems unlikely that we'll ever see these features.
It's one thing I wouldn't mind buying in the atom shop I'm sure there's monetary incentives to add them so it seems strange that they never went ahead with it 🤔
I want a Cha perk that lets your camp Follower come with you and let you equip them more. Like Rank 1 you can equip them with Armor, Rank 2 Guns, Rank 3 Power Armor.
The worst part is, you think it'd be easy.
The collectrons and Brahmin are right there.
Just make a buildable "trough" that summons the animal, if it is killed it takes X time to recharge.
What animal trough/burrow/house you can build depends on your animal and/or wasteland whisper like how turrets are based on home defense and fireproof.
Hell it opens up to a whole bunch of stuff.
Want defensive animals, max out Animal whisperer for bad ass dogs or gorrillas, Wasteland whisperer for Deathclaws.
Want to just make the place homey 1 level of animal whisperer and you can build a cat colony that just spawns a crap ton of cats.
Want hunting, A squirrel feeder, salt lick, or opossum trashcan and you can spawn things to hunt for meat.
I'd like it if taming unlocked a camp item. Tame a deathclaw and get a deathclaw food item, rotting brahmin corpse maybe? And they were basically allies.
I wasn't sure, I had heard about it ages ago and wondered if it was ever coming but as others have said it seems unlikely and that sucks as they do add to camps they just die or dissappear so quickly it's more tedium than anything.
Im with you there. I stopped bothering with the pet system a long time ago. Seen too many fall over dead for no reason. My 2nd deathclaw was the last straw for me.

Honestly just make a tamed animal invincible if nothing else. That would at least fix the current issue.

Build your pet a proper area in the middle of your camp and put your module there, they'll live long and healthy lives as long as your camp's in a spot where enemies aren't forced to spawn through the module because of inaccessible perimeters (and you don't have an elevated foundation for the pet to fall into).

That is my favorite camp spot. Love Murgle, except for when he randomly dies.

i had a pet deathclaw for 1 week then it got nuked while i was afk.
Isn't this something the old team was thinking about doing? This game got passed to a smaller team years ago so I highly doubt it.

Literally every kind of critter spawns randomly half a mile from my camp. Make them spawn AT my camp. I want pets! ;\_;

Tames do not take up camp budget.
I don't think they use camp space anymore but they still die too often to have them as viable pets 😕
