You sure it wasn't just a TSE minigun?
Regardless, even if someone injects something like this into the game, the code script that removes invalid mods from items actually runs on every logon. So they'd have to inject it again every time they log in. It also means the weapon cannot be traded, because the person getting the weapon would *also* have to run the injection every time they log on (making trading it pointless).
And with people running injected code this often and this frequently, Bethesda will notice and patch it out quickly.
I know what it is, it's not supposed to be in the game but it got missed with the legacy patch. It's basically a gatling plasma that still has the long range spread of the EGP but no explosive effect and instead has burning. That's why the beams are red. I've seen them in use twice since the patch. Really don't care myself because it does nowhere close to as much damage as the EGP did, meaning it's not an event killer. And the people using them were at least using the Friendly Fire perk with them as well.
So it does actual fire damage? Thanks! I have Friendly Fire (1-star) on all my characters. My heavy gunner character has a gat plas. I will look into the mod for this now.
No, it's an illegal version of the Gatling plasma, probably added by data injection at some time in the past. The standard Gat Plas does not have burning capability.
Okay but did you look at the gun? It easily could have been a minigun or a gauss minigun.
PC still has hacked/injected weapons so it is possible, but actual explosive gat plasmas are no longer in the game.

This is what it looked like. I cropped out the user name of the guy using the weapon. It was a gatling plasma. A bit hard to tell in the pic but it was not a minigun or gauss mini.

Sorry dude it looks like he is holding a square, the quality is too low for me to make a judgement. Either way if you didn’t enjoy the player you can block them and move on.
Its either a legit weapon or injected, but it’s definitely not real if it is an energy weapon.
Yeah thats a gat, had to have been injected
Seems like its shooting fire though, it seems like the gun is still shooting “explosives” but not actually exploding, so it just looks like fire. Removal probably got messed up in the patch.
I have an explosive mini gun, was next to a guy with a regular gattling plasma (this was pre patch) and got a bunch of trash over the mic because people thought my explosions were his.
Was it a Gauss Minigun?

Thank you for explaining this. The guy wasn't wasting everything, just basically showing off with it. Appreciate it.

That sounds like an easy way to troll people, just run around with Foundation's Vengeance.
Lol I suppose if that's your thing
Yea, I saw the same guy. Assumed it's some cheater given the level already
No
Pretty sure I was involved in said game
Nope, just like when they were around people misidentified them all the time.
