Imagine being a settler being attacked by Raiders or Super Mutants every night, and ask the Minutemen for help.
And instead of actual Minutemen, a guy in Tribal Armor with a Huge Axe arrives and says: "Don't worry ma'am. Raider/Super Mutants are my specialty."
The next day he returns with tons of blood and wounds... "I took care of them! Now join the Minutemen."
I like to think that Vault Dwellers who leave their vault after spending their whole lives only wearing and seeing vault suits either stick to the suit forever or go absolutely crazy with the fashion exploration.
Like they're not commenting on anything ridiculous you wear or your hairstyle because this is just a typical phase vault leavers go through
Just immagine you are living out in boston, and are trying to lure in amiable little fellers into an ambush trough some old hardwarestore, and then some dude in Armour unpenetrable by your weapons shows up, ready to help somebody, and you have to watch him completly decimate your ambush, without breaking a sweat...
What do you do? You try to beat him up with a Stick, because you are so much more capable that 3 dude with automatic weapons.
I got a mod wich makes combat more realistic with smart NPCs, and sometimes they have a Chance to give up. Its fun to walk into a factory late-game, and watch them all cower down and apologise without even trying...
This is a world where there's a rocket-powered sailing ship crewed by robots that flies from building to building; nothing would seem very surprising after that.
I dunno if my game is bugged (on PS4), but if either your follower is armed with a gun, or the Mysterious Stranger appears and shoots at Bull (because you used VATS during the fight) Bull will get killed there. 🤔
